David Tennant was an amazing doctor becaus he was so... epic, I guess. He was a tortured immortal, trying to find something to hold onto in a universe going by too fast for him. Matt Smith is more a comedy character, but he brings a sort of wisdom and sense of... old-ness that's really great. I'll admit I kind of prefer David, but I adore Matt Smith's character and the style of the series, so I wouldn't change him for David if I could.

I don't mind Matt as the doctor... sure he looks like he just got out of high school, dresses like an old man, and wants a new fez - but he's not so bad. Sometimes, he is better than David... but only in very very very very few scenes like the fez and mop.
@Emi183 Actually, I just watched a clip of that, apparently Matt plays a guy who works in a shop where she's looking for a wedding gift, 'for a good friend and his uptight fiancee', while she's not working, and she decides to take him home with her, and then the next day, she lies to him about her job, and he won't leave until she has a friend come over to trick him. :) (Sorry, rambled on a bit there...)
@doctorwhosuperfan11 it got covered in posters in the scene before and for some inexplicable reason the time vortex burned them off... That's the remains.

@supahsnuffy He mentioned it in interviews and I think they're going to update his outfit a bit for Season 6 so it'll be more accommodating for all kinds of weather. Karen also might be having similar things as well, but her outfits vary more to begin with so this shouldn't be as big of an issue.
@anakha6 in my experiences as an extra, often everybody in sight of the camera is a paid extra. They usually shut down the visible part of the street and have people in the background doing stuff to make it look normal. But maybe it's different for Doctor Who/the UK.
@ghostoftoast Yes and no. Moffat wrote the series, so the over-all story arc is written by him but he also tells the writers what sort of episodes he wants and where he wants it set (for the most part, there are exceptions). But yes, lots of writers write Dr Who in all.

If you look in the background, towards the mall in the distance, I THINK you can just see the Doctor Who UP-CLOSE Cardiff sign, as that is where the Exhibition is held. Must say though, revisited that Exhibition today, rubbish now all the renovations have taken place. Nothing good there any more, and the shop has shrunk hugely. That said, the walk-in Dalek exhibit was really nice, with all the lasers and that 2008 Supreme Dalek in the background.

I've seen a few episodes with David and he is also a fantastic tenth Doctor. I agree that people shouldn't keep disregarding Matt. He's not DT. He's MS! He's a good actor and he brings alot of life, quirkiness, and unique presence to who the Doctor is!
@JustaCornerstone Matt Smith is a wonderful Doctor, I got into the series watching David Tenant and he is my favorite Doctor and I was curious to see how Smith would do and he does an excellent job. Change is a central theme of the entire franchise. I don't know how anyone cannot like Matt Smith as the Doctor he's awesome, I think Amy Pond may just be the most attractive companion the Doctor has had aside from Rose ofcourse.

Well it can't stay the same forever. Doctor Who has always changed every few years, ever since the 1st regeneration, slightly different TARDIS, new openin, new logo. Growth is a part of the show's history.

My opinion isn't that he's rubbish, it's that's he's gay and stupid and the new show besides him sucks. The writer is the only good thing left. Btw the reason I think he's gay is because in one of the episodes he said "This is fab" and the way he said it screamed I'm gay.

If you look in the background, towards the mall in the distance, I THINK you can just see the Doctor Who UP-CLOSE Cardiff sign, as that is where the Exhibition is held. Must say though, revisited that Exhibition today, rubbish now all the renovations have taken place. Nothing good there any more, and the shop has shrunk hugely. That said, the walk-in Dalek exhibit was really nice, with all the lasers and that 2008 Supreme Dalek in the background.

DT was such a good doctor, all the change feels almost like it felt when 5 unraveled 4's scarf. I love that scarf. It just feels like they're forgetting David. But I still think matt's gonna do excelent. I just feel srry 4 him. DT is gnna b a tough act to follow.

@thedrbanana Thank you for saying that! I'm a recent new comer to the show and I think Matt Smith is fantastic as the eleventh Doctor. I've seen a few episodes with David and he is also a fantastic tenth Doctor. I agree that people shouldn't keep disregarding Matt. He's not DT. He's MS! He's a good actor and he brings alot of life, quirkiness, and unique presence to who the Doctor is!

@JustaCornerstone Matt Smith is a wonderful Doctor, I got into the series watching David Tenant and he is my favorite Doctor and I was curious to see how Smith would do and he does an excellent job. Change is a central theme of the entire franchise. I don't know how anyone cannot like Matt Smith as the Doctor he's awesome, I think Amy Pond may just be the most attractive companion the Doctor has had aside from Rose ofcourse.

Wish they brought back Paul mcgann! It could have easily been written in as a reverse regeneration or something. I think he would have been fantastic.
In any case Matt smith looks great so far, moffat should be amazing. I'm looking forward to the new who!

Well it can't stay the same forever. Doctor Who has always changed every few years, ever since the 1st regeneration, slightly different TARDIS, new openin, new logo. Growth is a part of the show's history.

I can hardly believe how young of a guy they got to play the Doctor. he's what, 22, 23? he looks like a teenager. heh. i think he'll do pretty well, though. i heard somewhere he was a fan before he got picked for the role. That would help him out a lot, I think. :-)
