I hate this whole Intel and AMD argument people always post up. You guys do know that these companies respect and talk to each other on a daily basis, right!? Yeah they compete to sell you their products but behind the scene these two companies along with others need each other to push technology. The same with the automotive market, each manufacturer competes with each other but the truth is all of them share technology with each other. Truth is AMD innovates better but Intel executes better.
@shaqdchosen Trolling to the 9000th degree. AMD is innovation, Intel just follows shortly thereafter. Every important milestone, has been AMD's job to lead the pack. Look to the past and see history repeat itself. (;
Point is AMD will be much cheaper, long battery life and you don't need dedicated graphics(100+ euros), llano IGP is pretty fast but if you are a "true gamer" then by laptop 1000+ euro. i7 2630qm will be for sure faster then llano in CPU benchmarks (llano is K10.5+ architecture ). If you need to render and all that heavy stuff then buy intel and keep in mind your laptop will be hott (cpu temp 90C in load), desktops are for this heavy load stuff. llano is a good deal to me.
As a ford technician we have 2 note books at work now, both are i7 and apu oriented lap tops.
you can never find the AMD one as the techs prefer it over the intel. because it runs so much better. hopefully they will buy another one as I am so sick of waiting for the damn intel to load my stuff.
i have a very wired question about this processor and sandy bridge they are combine of cpu and gpu my question is if i buy gtx 580 or 5870 will this 3 combine and give more power or ones i put gtx 580 or any other card this build in gpu inside processor will disable?? if that gonna happen then its normal cpu and waste of time and money so anyone explain me how it will work.... very confused on this...

@tomyloveu : hi tomy, for the time being, your discrete GPU will be far more powerful than those found within the CPU - the integrated one is meant for light usage needs only. You can't combine them for more processing power unless you pick up a Fusion system and stick in a discrete GFX card that's of very similar processing power - in which case, CrossFire might be possible. However in all reality, those who need more power will get a foo GFX card and the internal one will lie useless.
@hardwarezonecom I know your comment is over six months old, but you do know that the APU can combine it's own GFX card and a dedicated card from AMD's 6000 series GFX cards in crossfire.. which gives a boost of nearly 40% in gaming performance, with only ONE dedicated GFX card.
@tomyloveu I'm glad that you made this inquiry. I read it and I was like "he is right". It was something I overlooked. So, I guess it's really useless to have a sandy-bridge right now for gamers. Just stick with your quad-core and just get a powerful card, i guess.
@tomyloveu Actually there should be hybrid xfire technology available which will allow you to use the integrated Gpu when loads are minimal, and when loads climb, such as gaiming, the system can automatically make use of the discrete Gpu. Basically switching back and forth between the two. However I doubt this will be possible with an Nvidia Gpu. When the time comes to build a system, pay close attention to the chipset and what's available. but certainly this technology, already exists.
@hardwarezonecom I never heard of hardwarezonecom, nice updates you guys have there. Very impressive website. Make a facebook group, spread the word. Where is the headquarters located for hardwarezonecom?
Check out amdzonecom I usually check all the latest info on amd.

@pookal1 : Thank you! We're very happy to hear your positive opinion :) Our HQ is in Singapore and we've multiple offices in South East Asia - Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Australia. Actually, we're just know as HardwareZone. The com was added in by the boss cos it's part of the registered trademark, though it appears weird on the YouTube Channel name.
@testdirver : You know AMD was also charging quite a premium when it was in the lead previously? Think of the Pentium 4 / D days when Athlon FX was king. The GFX side however, I don't they had much of a chance to overcharge cos NVIDIA and ATI kept taking turns outdoing each other. But yes, NVIDIA held on to premiums for even longer periods.

I've never seen AMD do such high quality demos before. Maybe they are finally moving. Tough road ahead.

@hardwarezonecom Could you tell me a release date for the desktop processor??
I want to do a Black vision build and would hate to have done one then fusion comes along.

@tomyloveu . No. If you buy a discrete GPU, it will work in concert with your APU to give a combined output.

this new technology is only for laptops?? or they are going to release a desktop "APU" too??

Amazing. I hope they release the chips on time.
Other thoughts: Make a deal with Apple. Design the CPU for them, so the price of the Apple computers will go down.
I'm a huge fan of AMD always supported them and followed them on there new technologies.
Man I want to work for AMD.

@pookal1 : That sounds good indeed. Let's hope AMD delivers an impressive part such that Apple takes notice and considers them for future designs :)
