  • then STOP...........I am now recovered....you can get better....That is bad but I have a pacemaker now....consider yourself lucky...you are alive..now MAKE THE CHOICE TO CHANGE....

  • You'r videos should be shown to school kids. The same way videos of drug abusers are. (here in Norway anyway). I really think it would open at least some kids eyes. And I do not think they would be triggering.

  • *HUGS*

because even tho I kno this was recorded long ago, ppl always need more hugs. :]

  • :(

i wish i could give you a hug, really do.

i am struggeling with anorexia too, but my minds set in so far to that i cant learn from it which really upsets me but theres nothing i can do about it, not right now anyway.

    Love

    xx

  • I sure hope you're feeling better. I am on the other side of the ED spectrum, but I can totally relate to what you're saying in your videos cause it doesn't matter if you're not eating enough or eating too much, you're hurting your body just the same. And both types are a constant struggle.

    Really, really hope you're OK.

    Ana

  • Thank you for your honesty, vulnerability. How are you feeling? I admire your desire to redeem what's been lost by helping others.

  • why did you take down the 'thinspiration' vid?

  • I so identify with this! And isn't it funny that after a serious consequence, we continue to return to the restriction!? Anorexia is insanity, is it not??

    Wendy

  • i hope ur feeling better.

  • How did things work out? Did you look at herbal options too? I hope you feel better.

  • I hope your better

  • she looks so bad, her face is white and gaunt. and her eyes look sunken and black, I think she is relapsed. I hope not because she has been doing so good, I would hope that she would not go down that road again because she knows what is down there.

  • In some medical journals in the United States, there is some evidence that cranberry juice might be able to dislodge e-coli bacteria from the walls of kidneys. Try to get cranberry juice without any sugar. Most cranberry juice contains a lot of sugar which can feed bacteria.

There is also medicine to treat osteoporosis. These drugs help build bone density. Just make sure you get enough vitamin D and calcium.

  • How are you doing, Kat? Please take care.

  • Thank you. I keep wondering when and where the other shoe will drop...

  • coz she recovered, and not only she recoverd, but also is giving inspiration to do it to those of us who don't dare

  • you're so AWESOME! i admire so much

  • Hi Kat, it's Johnny. We spoke awhile back. I wanted to send you some support and wanted to personally invite you to an ED collaboration channel my friend Karen and I just started. You've done a lot to help the community, now let us help you in return. The name of our channel is: RecoveryHappensNow - We are a terrific team of 12 ed survivors in various stages of recovery, health, life, etc. I hope you will watch and gain support. Keep doing whatever you can do for YOU, that's what counts.

  • what does E. Coli have to do with eating disorders?

  • we all have E. coli in our systems....and when we get dehydrated from not eating properly, it can build up and become an infection.

  • Hi Kat. Watching your videos has made me very happy that I recovered when I did. Perhaps I was lucky that I started my ED at 195 pounds. I had some health problems, but they went away when I stopped.

  • Hugs.

I hear you. A little consequence that we often don't think about is that by allowing that 'voice' or 'compulsion' take over, it remains a lifelong companion (sigh). So for those of you who are 'well' stay so. For others, it's never too late to rise above.

    You are not a number.

    More hugs.

  • Best wishes in getting better. I feel for you.

  • I can relate to you so much!

  • I have the same issue. I think way more than eight glasses.

  • My dear Kat... I'm from Poland and I have problems with eating too (anorexia). Since 2004. Your videos are... I don't know, they're amazing, you're open my eyes... I promise I will keep trying to recover and I'll stop thinking about being thin. You are my inspiration. I love you so much and I do hope that you will win with anorexia... Hugs, Rita

  • i've been listening to your videos...i've had an ED for a few years...my therapist recently abandoned me and I'm feeling very alone in my recovery...but you definitely speak words of wisdom and have encouraged me to go on. thank you for taking the time to make these videos! they're making a difference!

  • Hi! I don't know if you remember me since I only wrote to you once; I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep more in touch, but don't forget that even though we're miles and miles away I keep you in my prayers.

I hope the doctor's able to find something that can help you fight that infection.

Even though I had never ever had bulimia or anorexia I have had friends that actually thought this was a good idea... and your experience has helped me to help them!

Here goes a HUGE HUG! =D

  • Thank you for this update. It may not be "inspiring", but in a "slap in your face" kind of way its relieving. You're willing to tell us the truth of what's happening to you, and what you're feeling. Its better than trying to cover it up; that wouldn't be inspiring :)

  • You are beautiful inside n out. God is with you 4 helping n informing soo many ppl. God will protect you from all harm. Really i admire you and love you for what you are

  • you are in my prayers and know that you are remembered in the heart of God.

and i hope u'll are ok!!!

  • Hey Kat, just know that you are in my prayers and know that you are remembered in the heart of God. Pls have courage and know that you are loved.

  • It is hard to understand why your videos are so captivating. You have a wonderful way of expressing yourself. I hope you find the strength to eat enough and get well.

  • you didn't lose your life..and you didn't lose us =]

  • I know you are going to get better. Love you!

  • I am so sorry Kat...

I really hope that things improve for you...take care!

  • I'm sorry to hear this new news. I'm recovering from AN right now and started to make some videos to encourage myself as well. I'm just waiting for the ball to drop.

I pray your dr. finds something that works for you.

  • I don't know if you remember me from Yahoo messenger back in the day. I'm so sorry to here about your situation. I'm wishing the best for you. Hang in there.

  • Hi Kat

I don't have anorexia but hopefully you're video's will help motivate some of the people who do. I'm sorry you're having so much difficulty. If there is anything I can do to help let me know.

  • I had two kidney infections this year. And I've never had any before. I'm pretty sure it's related to my ED, and I'm not even underweight now. So what you're saying is really true and important to hear - you're messing with your body and it won't go by unnoticed. It is serious, no matter how healthy you believe your body to be.

I'm so glad you're back Kat, and I hope you'll be ok!

  • Kat, I'm praying for you. I'm glad you are back on youtube. I've been realizing the extent to which I've damaged my body also- I now have chronic acid reflux thanks to purging and throat infections to go with it. I'm getting emotional thinking about it. I believe in you, you can do it. Have faith & check back in soon. Love, Kaia.

  • Oh, but I do. And so do most other people here. If you don't like Kat's message, don't listen to it. Do with your life what you want (and I hope you'll be good to yourself), but don't post hateful comments here!

  • Ouch, that's made of suck. =( I hope they find something for you soon. Thank you for enlightening me and I hope that you can get well soon.

  • You have all my support Kat!

Olive leaf extract and capsules with cranberry extract will help against the resistant e-coli. Olive leaf extract has showed some very surprising results against drug resistant bacteria. Consistent results in several trials, and well worth trying. Sold in health food stores and manufactured by several brands.

  • It's true! A lot of herbal remedies will help, but at the same time, the infection can come back very easily (happened to me) regardless, when not eating enough or eating well. Can't replace food, but will kickstart the immune system when getting back on track.

  • can't you eat a lot of pickles for salt to bind the water and drink a lot of green tea or summn? that's what i'm doing anyway.

  • i mean i sound really stupid but i dunno what else to do :/ i think cucumbers and pickles are great, they have a lot of water in them and pickles have salt, and maybe 20 glasses is doable...

  • good luck Kat, i know what its like to suffer the consequences of an eating disorder, just keep working towards your health and you will do it...ive had anorexia since i was 12 and im finally recovering! Really recovering i've now gained 10 pounds in one and a half month so keep it up!!!!!

  • Hey Kat. It's so nice to hear from you again. I love watching your videos - I could listen to you all day. You are my recovery inspiration and you make me want to help other people like us.

It makes me angry that even after we try so hard to gain and break our bad habits and all of that shit there is still the hard truth that physically we will never be the same.

I'm sure many sufferers like me will be thinking of you. <3

    Love Kate.

  • I'm glad you're back on youtube :)

  • I feel bad for you right now... that sucks! anyway I hope that nothing worst happens and I send you lots of love!!!!

  • i'm so sorry to hear this :( are you at least on some pain meds? because it sounds really painful!

  • This is very interesting as this has always been a mistery to me too. Now watching this video it's all understood and it also explains how even a fish can get dehydrated despite being surrounded by so much water. Like you ssaid it's not just water...if you don't eat your body will be getting dehydrated despite drinking gallons.

  • *hug*

I'm so sory you're not feeling well :(

    *HUG*

    xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Hi Kate.. I'm soo sorry to hear about your kidney infection and I can't even imagine how it must feel to have that now too..

You're a really strong person and every time you make a video lile this I just wanna hit something, for making life harder for you than it already is..

Thanks for sharing and reminding us that everything we do has a consequence and that it's not just about food.. <3

  • Oh, Kat! I am so sorry that you're having issues again. But I am glad that you are comfortable to talk to us about it. Do you have AIM? If so, I'll give you my AIM name and we can chat whenever you want or NEED. I am going through this junk now too. I was bulimic in high school for a very, very short while. I didn't realize it was so easy for my body to get screwed up. *luv and hugs*

  • Hi Kat. As the friend of people with eating disorders I find your videos inspirational and informative.

I'm so sorry to hear about your kidney infection. I can't imagine how hard this news must be to get, it sounds like a very frightening kind of infection. You're working so hard to stay in recovery, all these stumbling blocks must be very discouraging. Don't forget to pat yourself on the back for all your successes, the inspiration you provide to others. You mean more to us than you know.

  • Sorry to hear you having a hard time. Recovery is up and downs, and there is no quick cure for these diseases. Yes, it is easy to say "I did this to myself because of my behaviors" it is only partly true, for those that have suffered the disease know that it is hard to change and stop behaviors, and it takes time. I am doing really well right now, but I have to always be aware of triggers because I can fall back before I even realize it. Don't be too hard on yourself, you are trying, and your

  • head is still in the right place. Thanks for sharing, this is a good reminder that EDs are not innoclusous, nor are they just about food! Hope you feel better soon.
