The United States was founded on Enlightenment beliefs that grew out of ideas of freedom against organized religion, especially against the Church of England and the Great Awakening.

Anyone who says the US was founded on Christian beliefs needs to go back to school and learn about history.

When the Constitution was completed on September 17, 1787, it was signed by the delegates then to be ratified by the states. The delegates signed the Constitution in the “Year of our Lord.” This is a direct reference to Christianity.

Just because it references Christianity doesn't mean that it's built on Christian principles.

What about the incorporation of Freedom of Religion as a direct result of the CoE's persecution of Protestants? Or the system of a social contract derived from John Locke, a major Enlightenment philosopher? Or the writings of Jefferson and Franklin who wrote about the Enlightenment principles they contributted to the Constitution? Or how the Constitution's articles is void of Christian principles?

@RebelSoldier68 I NEVER said living under Sadaams regime was perfect. But America did support Saddam as he commited most of his crimes. America is just as guilty yet no American leaders were punished. Plus America did support sanctions and bombed facilities such as infant formula factories, killing 1,5 million people. America funded Saddam in the Iran-Iraq war. America Also knew Saddam was invading Kuwait and never condemnded it, giving him reason to believe America was neutral on the issue.
