It's incredibly strong burst of bright light. If you stare directly at it, especially in the dark, it's gonna mess up your eyes at least for a while.
If you're unfamiliar with the phenomena, try standing in a pitch black room for 5 minutes then flip on the light switch, then multiply that by "holy fuck, my eyes".
@bioboy504 doesnt matter if they "shouldnt have been protesting" they have every right to protest they were protesting peacefully what the cops just did their was illegal and I hope the cops got sued for it... but I can only hope.
Unfortunately the laws are made by big business and support them not the everyday citizen. It is important that people can stand. Bu big business doesn't like people to have power, so they take away even the basic right to just stand. Then we criticize other countries for not allowing people to protest injustice.
I understand and agree with our right to protest. But, I strongly believe in doing onto others as I would have done to me. If I were at a political convention (which I wouldn't be because our political system is broken) I wouldn't appreciate people showing up to tell me I'm stupid!! People who take the time to go obviously care about the direction of the government! I think if a political party has a convention, you can attend to hear what they have to say. But, to protest?! I don't know....
Interesting that you would take your screen name from an entrepeneur at teh van of industry. Judging by your position on these issues I'd say you chose to use your free time much differently than Sir Conclair.
In regard to what you do not know, the rioters who caused the mele on 09-01 were released from jail on 09-03; one day before the Marion Bridge arrests. The police were not about to allow such wilding to occur again.
Come to America, protest, speak freely - do it in peace.
Yeah I was I was near the protest for about 30 seconds before we got forced onto the bridge, actually I can hear the guy who sat next to me in the bus. But yeah that shit was crazy, we did nothing wrong so i have nothing to regret.
That's so lame...they tell you where to go to not get arrested and then they arrest you!!!! You know that was a Kare11 reporter next to you that got arrested as well!

Well, they shouldn't have been protesting. We have laws, follow them. Don't like it? Change the laws. And for God's sake, GET A HAIR CUT HIPPIES!

@bioboy504 Americans have a Constitutional Right to protest. If you don't agree with it, and you are in America, then please get the hell out.

Cops violate your rights, covered IN the Bill of rights as an American? Maybe exercise your SECOND Amendment right. I'm sure they'll listen then. =P

I think the moral of the story is file a petition for a protest or rally with your municipal government body. Seriously, it's not that hard.
jswaynerules 3 years ago
Thats bullshit and you know it man.
You are basically saying the moral of the story is to get on your knees and accept whatever it is the government tells you to do.
Wake up, open your eyes....

Bravo.
A petition permit was granted - then the terms violated.
This group of college students wanted to make their statement by making a mess.
Change comes about out of wise actions - not out of reckless, undisciplined tantrums.

Dear Krisabelle,
You were outwitted by the police. Don't be cross.
Next time just leave an unlawful assembly right away when you are directed to do so by a police officer.
DEFENDandCONTROL 3 years ago
This is unreal. Do you actually believe what you are saying?
Do you understand how brainwashed you are?
You are ALLOWED to be there.
You do NOT NEED to leave if they tell you too.
If you try to understand this fully you might see things differently.
