This video is a classic. In fact, this video could be shown, this year. I admit, I bought Madden 11. Like you said on 6:40-6:55, they need to get back to the "basics". To me, that is having physics in the game. I know they have good graphics, NFL players, teams, etc. However, they MUST have physics for me to purchase Madden 12. Otherwise, I am not buying it. That is the bottom line.

I haven't purchased madden new since '08 and that was the first time as well. I never bought '09 or '10. I have always been a NCAA football fan, but since the 360 came out , it has been bad. I have both 2k5 & 2k8 and will not switch. I might try Backbreaker, but I'll buy it used. Just my opinion.

I think that the overall play of the game is alright. Still needs some effects like running animations and the ball really needs to spin when the QB throws the damn ball! That is lazy programming. In fairness I think you are taking Ian too literally. True these things have been in the game before but never as detailed. IE...referees have been on the game but never have they had the cut scenes where they talk to each other and then make a call. Players have ridden the ambulance off the field. You are just taking them too literally.
The chain gang thing especially pisses me off. There's only two animation sequences for the change gang. one for if you got the first down, and one for if you did'nt. So you already know what the outcome of the call will be, by which camera anngle you see come up. It's a result af lazy programing because there's no competition for these assholes.

This is not surprising in the least. EA screws its customers over every single chance they get. They release games with complete BS problems. they basically just copied most of the features that were in the 2k games. another thing is that when a player gets hit, their helmets no longer fly off. and now since they have hit stick it would go hand and hand. another thing is that when you create a player, you cant give them tatoos ! just to go along with the suck ass create a player. they really need to step it up and stop changing the same game they've been selling since 07 and introduce a whole new experience !

One more thing. The game is awful. AI Blockking on the OL is junk, you can throw to the RB but trying to run a top RB is almost a joke. This game was let out way too raw and with consoles they can put out crap and people will buy it. If you have not bought this game save your money, the slow play, the pick city and lack of being able to run effectively makes the game one more wasted piece of oil used to make a DVD. EA should lose their license for NFL. This is junk.

Here's one crap AI play that happened between my son and I. Go to kick a 45yd fg.... my son calls punt return vs fg block. His guy back is ready to catch it short. Kick is up no good and his punt returner gets it. Kneels. Next play? First down my team (I kicked fg) at my 35. How does this qualify as good?

Yeah nothing is different except for the refs bull. Last time i checked they slowed down the game play added co op plus online franchise. They added way more presentation and this is the first time they added all these things in the current generation of consoles. I haven't purchased madden new since '08 and that was the first time as well. I never bought '09 or '10. I have always been a NCAA football fan, but since the 360 came out , it has been bad. I have both 2k5 & 2k8 and will not switch. I might try Backbreaker, but I'll buy it used. Just my opinion.

@jmpatriots Backbreaker's creation tool is amazing, and you could possibly re-create the entire NFL. Don't buy the game just because of real teams! It's gonna end up getting stale and sitting in your game library collecting dust! Don't waste $65 on something that's a roster update every year just because they have the real teams.

I think that the overall play of the game is alright. Still needs some effects like running animations and the ball really needs to spin when the QB throws the damn ball! That is lazy programming. I see Ian Cummings as a lazy sack who decided that he wanted to suck is boyfriend before acctually editting the game the way it needs to be.... Sorry to say but the game is a lot better than what it used to be. They just need to add some little things

In fairness I think you are taking Ian too literally. True these things have been in the game before but never as detailed. IE...referees have been on the game but never have they had the cut scenes where they talk to each other and then make a call. Players have ridden the ambulance off the field. You are just taking them too literally.

The chain gang thing especially pisses me off. There's only two animation sequences for the change gang. one for if you got the first down, and one for if you did'nt. So you already know what the outcome of the call will be, by which camera anngle you see come up. It's a result af lazy programing because there's no competition for these assholes.

This is not surprising in the least. EA screws its customers over every single chance they get. They release games with complete BS problems. When they work with another company, and a great game is in the works, they rush it because they are greedy bastards, and the game ends up sucking. Maybe...MAYBE the game could be saved with a patch. Madden 10 is complete crap on Xbox360, especially the latest update. 5-10 turnovers per game. The GAME decides the winner in the first quarter. EASUCKS

they basically just copied most of the features that were in the 2k games. another thing is that when a player gets hit, their helmets no longer fly off. and now since they have hit stick it would go hand and hand. another thing is that when you create a player, you cant give them tatoos ! just to go along with the suck ass create a player. they really need to step it up and stop changing the same game they've been selling since 07 and introduce a whole new experience !

I have been playing Madden since 90 or 91. This is total bullshit. These guys were wasted wet drams when the original came out and Im sure they dont even play. Its bad enough the Madden 10 on 360 is suspect as far as the AI advantage for the computer. Now to hear these none Madden playing people talked about these "never before seen" items in 10, I'm gonna pull out my ESPN foot for XBOS and play that, just to play a REAL FOOTBALL GAME.

Everyone watching this video needs to understand that companies pay for people to give there product good reviews. This is especially true with game reviewers on television that sell out knowing that some of the games aren't any good especially this one. I grew tired of madden long ago and wished that they would not have purchased the licensing rights to the nfl because they stop a quality game maker from competing with them 2k sports. U just paying $60 for new roster.

I had all of em from 2001 to 2004 and they were good.
But the next one I played was 06 on 360 and it had, like, almost nothing on it except for an exhibition mode.

One more thing. The game is awful. AI Blockking on the OL is junk, you can throw to the RB but trying to run a top RB is almost a joke. This game was let out way too raw and with consoles they can put out crap and people will buy it. If you have not bought this game save your money, the slow play, the pick city and lack of being able to run effectively makes the game one more wasted piece of oil used to make a DVD. EA should lose their license for NFL. This is junk.

I foolishly bought this game after being told by others how great it finally was. Burned in 2007, 2008, skipped 09.... then told 2010 with the franchise mode was the bomb. It's crap. Here's one crap AI play that happened between my son and I. Go to kick a 45yd fg.... my son calls punt return vs fg block. His guy back is ready to catch it short. Kick is up no good and his punt returner gets it. Kneels. Next play? First down my team (I kicked fg) at my 35. How does this qualify as good?

On top of that: if you think the new tackling system (piles, etc) is just a gimmick you obviously NEED to get the game or play it at a friend's house. It's an all new experience being able to actually get that extra yard by forcing your guy thru. If you like scripted tackels, go back to your Madden 2008.

RealHustleInc if u kno football them y are u complaining about the downfiled blocks. lineman are suppose to block only up to 5 yards up field give a couple of yards. if ur not where u need to be with a running back THAT HAS WAY MORE SPEED THAN A LINEMAN, yeah the lineman do miss blocks but they do in a regular game on tv. so my thesis on u is that u must really suck at this game if u can't run the ball 5 yards with a RB hahaha man u crack me up, that was the weakest post i've ever seen

I disagree ,the new Madden is really good.Plus the devs have to sell the new product.The chain gang is now a more Integeral Part. The animations are better this year.
This years presentation is rock solid Imo.

No one cares that you are complaining about it either! I'm still gonna buy it. The new features are cool and though some of the stuff may have been in previous maddens- it has never looked this good! So shut up..buy the game and play or DONT..Im sure EA doesnt really care because it will still make a killing.

Yeah nothing is different except for the refs bull. Last time i checked they slowed down the game play added co op plus online franchise. They added way more presentation and this is the first time they added all these things in the current generation of consoles. And this is whole develment team and they did a great job so far so just stop complaining.

This is the dumbest youtube video i have seen in a while. First of all, why is this stuff getting on your nerves so much? These things have NEVER been in the game like they are this year (including older next gen systems). Second, if you think little things like the kicker warming up and qbs talking on the phone after an interception were not something the community wanted than you need to visit the message boards more often.

The teens and tweens that buy this game (their largest demographic I am betting) are constantly wanting it to look more and more like a real football presentation, they dont give a crap if the downfield blocking or db animations are a little screwy. Its only the hardcore 30 and 40 somethings that need to get more of a life that care about crap like that.

Its not just the 30 and 40 somethings that care about REALISTIC GAMEPLAY. Downfield blocking, the OL/ DL is shitty. They can't even get the blocks right. Bought this game as soon as it came out and do regret it. It is better than 09 but is still lacking heavily. How can they not at least get the blocking right. The offensive line has to be the stupidest.

Hey man ......... I totally agree.... EA sports has really fallen off with Madden since going to the xbox 360 and PS3..... The ps2 version will be the best version.... I CANT STAND the way the players move in the newer versions... LOVED the older engine... new engine sucks EA needs to scrap it......go back to the old engine
