i just got one of these today.. i didnt know Kimball made them, are they rare?
mine plays fine and workds great, nice wood work. Whats thats little switch on the side of yours?

The switch on the side is a volume control. It actually moves two wood flaps inside the horn, which open and close. Do you have any pictures of yours or maybe some video?
