I got 8.57 seconds on this licence test. I thought it would be a very hard test to get gold on because its so long but amazingly I did it in about 10 tries.
Nobody are judging you. Nurburgring is a difficult track, and the Mercedes used in this test is not an easy car to drive. Just passing is an accomplishment.
Drive around the track in a few other cars first to get familiar with the track. During the test, take it easy and don't take any chances. You have over 9 minutes to get around the track, and that is plenty for this car. Brake before turning, not during.

I don't recall what the final time was, but the time limit is 9:02, and I just barely beat that, so 9:00 or 9:01 would be a good guess. Unfortunately, I don't have the raw video any more, just the encoded one, so I can't really go back and re-encode for better quality, at least not without re-recording the clip.
man u guys think thats hard u should try and get all the linces in one day man its so tireyng man it ook me the hola 24 hours. u should'v seen me i was so tired and pist that i went to sleep for three days straight.what i do is get all the linces first and then play the game i hate to be playing and hve to stop to get the linces bad luck i dont have live. If i had i would beat some asses am good but theres other good people too.o well i guesss ill have to eait for me turn.
Just drive it. Having TCS and ASM on or off changes the handling of the car, but it doesn't turn on or off the "simulator". Most people seem to turn off ASM, and leave a little (i.e. 2) TCS if the car is somewhat powerful. A low TCS setting will prevent excessive wheel spin yet still allow you to have control of how much power goes to the wheels.

Most people use a video capture card in their computer, and then connect their PS2 to it. Windows comes with Windows Movie maker, which should be able to capture the video.
You are absolutely right. If all four wheels are off the track, or the car hits any barrier, or in this case, hits or passes the pace car, the test ends in failure. However, the car never left the track. The quality of the clip on here may not show it, but at least one wheel was always on the track. Apparently, the bricks along the edge of the track where I had the accident are considered "on track".

Limit is 9:00 on my GT4. I just did an 8:52.352

So...who else has gotten gold on this test? My time is 8.58.5 but I can't tell from this video what his time is...
Yeah, I'm looking for competition. That 8.58 included numerous errors and I was much faster than the pace car in several places and had to back off.

Nuburgring is just too damn big. Taking a license test there is a painful patience testing too.
I hate those tests. Luckily we can transfer our A / B licenses from GT3.
