my oldest (bottlefed) had a yeast infection that was really hard to get to go away, we used whatever the docter gave us and when we used the gentin violet, it went away after 2 doses :) then when my youngest got a yeast infection (brestfed) i gave him the gentin violet immediatly and it went away in 3 doses, and the genten violet also made my nipples feel better (and turn purple lol) because whatever was on his mouth got onto my nipple when i fed him :) hope that helps!
I really hope you saved SOME cuteness for the rest of the babies! Sending healthy, non-thrush thoughts and hope to hear you say she (and you) are better soon. But happy to hear that she's doing well otherwise!
Hi! Alice is beyond adorable! I am sorry to hear about her/you having thrush or it causing problems. I just hope it does not lead to diaper rash because I know diaper rash creams can ruin your cloth diapers. Or at least be a big chore to get out. How is cloth diapering going? I can't believe she can roll over already, she is so advanced!
Oh my goodness your daughter is sooooo cute!! Congrats Kaity! I love all that hair she has :) My 2 oldest were born with a full head of thick dark hair and I miss how soft it was.
oh my gosh shes so cute! i love her smiles and how she stuck her tongue out. shes the sweetest little thing. im glad minus the thrush everythings going well and shes healthy!!
The anitfungal did nothing for us (I had it with my first 2 babies), but Gentin Violet did the trick in 2 days! Since you are familiar with it, you know it will Stain EVERYTHING, but it is worth it...so if you do go that route, make sure you and Alice are wearing stuff you don't care about!
My sisters-in-law have used this probiotic with their babies, from really young (maybe even newborn). It's a powder they keep in the fridge, and you rub it in the baby's gums everyday. I will ask them for the name and their experience with it. I would recommend that just to make sure she's got some good fighting bacteria since she had all those antibiotics. Poor baby. She is pretty adorable, I want to eat her up!! ;-)
Thumbs up for more Alice!!! Sorry to hear about the thrush. I know they were warning us a lot about that in the hospital since I had to have antibiotics for the uterine infection. I started taking probiotics as soon as we got home & I'm hoping we can avoid it. I hope you guys are able to clear it up soon and get back to normal. Oh- and what color are her eyes? They almost look green in the video... have they changed at all since birth?
My son has been on antibiotics for over 100 days now. He has never gotten yeast in his mouth, but has had the yeasty diaper rash many times. I'm dreading thrush if we ever get it. Hang in there!
@katulka2 We use Clotrimazole on the rash twice a day for 7 days and it clears up. My son has reflux with his kidney (urine goes backwards sometimes into the kidneys), so he is on a preventative dose of antibiotics to prevent a possible kidney infection if he ever got a UTI. We actually just learned that his body has become resistant to Amoxicillin, so we've had to switch him to a different one with more side effects. I hate using medicine in the first place so it really upsets me :(
@meadowlarkphoto If you are using cornstarch or vaseline, stop. They are food sources, and as soon as I stopped, it cleared up...antibiotics arent necessary, just topical, if you want to try...good luck, it was so hard when I dealt with it!!
@meadowlarkphoto if ou have milk in your breast you can use your milk and put it in his rash and wait until is dry and put back the diaper, hope this can help you
@rmmartin92405 Yeah, we are doing option #1 for now, though I would like to try GV. I've heard that it works much faster than the 10 days of Nystatin. Plus, purple babies are cute, haha. :)
She's strong to roll at 2 weeks!

I used a spray bottle with water and mixture of vinegar and I would spray my boobs/nipples before and after a feeding.

Hey hun, one thing I was told for sore nipples (and to only do this, no cream) is to soak your nipples in warm salt water and let them air dry.

Oh..and it can take awhile to get rid of the thrush..it used to feel like fire ants nipping my nips! Alice is so sweet!

@beyondmyfreedom Fire ants is such a good way to describe it! Lol

Omg..know what its like with the thrush..gv works great but stains. Niastatin works fine also. Congrats to Alice for rolling over!
beyondmyfreedom 7 months ago
nystatin cream for your nipples and nystatin syrup for her, or if you want to sport purple mouth and purple nipples you can go with gentian violet :)
