  • The person Eliot Ness believed was the killer was Dr. Francis E. Sweeney.

  • People have to understand that this individual (as unknown) could possibly be a devoted fan of a certain individual who committed similar type of murders in London during the late 19th century....Jack the Ripper

  • Ah..of course it was that guy It's so damn obvious it hurts...Don't you just fucking hate the justice system at times like these?

  • @flowerdrop1 You need hardcore evidence. They did not have as much forensic technology back then like on CSI. You can't publicly say someone is the killer without proof, that would be slander. Some killers are smarther than the police thats a fact.

  • Who killed Elizabeth Short? And if Elliot Nest know who did it, why didnt he rell someone! Wife? Girl freind? Someone....

  • @JaniceSpeed Why didn't he "rell" someone. Who knows cause he doesn't know what rell means that might be an unsolved mystery in itself. Just kidding its a typo. Anyways who knows why he didn't tell anyone its possible that he agreed to keep the guys identity a secret.

  • the modus operandi is similar, in the 2 cases. i dont know if they are the same person, but whoever killed elizabeth short was a serial killer. that iam almost certain of.

  • @leedumett444 oh yes i agree he knew how to drain the body of blood and how to disecther body,it looks like he killed before elzabeth short, its a shame they never caught him

  • Although I have my doubts that The Cleveland torso killer had anything to do with Elizabeth Short's death, this was an interesting theory.

  • This is the second case of a known psychopath being aided, known for killing his victims, often under nearby investigation, and allowed to continue. Well, indirectly of course, but the dots were awfully close here. Meaning, the suspected it was him, but he was free to come and go. The other one was in Florida, he was married. He ended up by killing his wife, his niece and himself, by hanging in the garage.

  • The man interrogated by Ness was Dr. Francis E. Sweeney.

  • this case is so mysterious and fascinating

  • Sad how you can know someone's guilty but, because of lack of Evidence your hands are tied. What a Scumbag of a Killer and i wish they caught that Lunatic, and you can put that guy up there with Dalhmer, and Zodiac, Etc.

  • so did they ever cought the killer?
