I'm getting excited to see this entire episode when I get to this season of the muppet show I've done Disc one already now I'm going to start disc two
@ScrumbleNuts "unappreciated in his own time"? What the hell are you talking about? He was praised like no other for what he did in his own time. He was loved then and he is loved now.
@skybreaker09 thank you for the disproportionate amount of aggression there....
I "the hell" am talking about the fact that he died before he knew how much his work had touched so many, and that the passion and skill he put into Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal paid off in the end despite poor box office returns at the time. He was an artist who was well recognised in his lifetime but I don't feel he was appreciated enough. Next time just ask for clarification and drop the attitude.
@utuber554 OMG SAAAME!!!!!! I WAS SOOOOOO HAPPY TO FIND THIS NOW THAT I"M 13!!!!!!!!! It brings back so many memories........ whenever I listen to it, I get a really special feeling :)
I remember having a video cassette of the Muppet Show and I watched it every night before bed as a kid. The video had this song on it! I'm so glad you've posted this!!!!
I could have sworn my copy of Abbey Road credits the song to Harrison, not Starr at all, though a quick Google search (oh, how simple it would have been to do this two weeks ago). Perhaps I read it wrong. or confused it with a different song. but yes, the internet has spoken.
Lol. Kermit has one of those lil swim caps on. Hahaha. Only thing I have a bit of a problem with about this vid/episode or whatever is you can really tell/see that Robin is a puppet. He has a square bottom! Idk why they couldn't make him a bit chubbier like Kermit. Oh well, he's still sooooo adorable.
Robin is a much simpler puppet in the way he is made. Kermit has quite a bit of internal padding, and his "bottom" is more rounded. Perhaps the Henson company didn't originally plan on using the simple puppets like Robin as much. But I do agree with you...the froggies ARE adorable. Oh what the heck...I LOVE PUPPETS!
Jim was an amazing man. His love of music and drama is so beautifully expressed through the Muppets, and it's done in a way that appeals to folk of all ages.. He (and his fellow puppeteers) have brought so much happiness, laughter, and smiles to so many people. I am glad Jim's son is keeping the joy alive.
Things can go strange....this performance meant my first introduction to this classic Beatles song!! I still love both versions (oh man if I go on laughing things are going wrong here hahahahheeeee)
This is just miraculous, mythical even. I can't even describe in words how much I love that little frog, Robin. He was heartbreaking as Tiny Tim in The Muppet's Christmas Carol. But watch this video, and you just feel happy.
This is a good video, except they miss a part of the song. After they say "We would shout and sing about, the coral that lies benith the wave" they forget to say "Oh what joy, for every girl and boy, knowing they're happy and they're safe."
HEY this one is a good song.......the real one is better but still....so is ringo's other one don't pass me by
if you listen to the real one it's way better and it's actually a good song
by the way where is that joke from......family guy?.......i usually like their beatles jokes.......lol "im going to mess u up as bad as i did with the beatles" "yoko this is john, john this is yoko" lol so true
well he only wrote 2 songs but i really like octopus's garden....seriously its pretty good....not the best from the beatles but its good compared to some of the other stuff he's done.....ask ANY musician....wut wuld u call a musician....someone who's been discovered...cuz im just starting a band we havent even done a show yet but we're musicians......we all really like this song so you can diss our taste but seriously.....if that gunna do either of us any good
he also wrote part of "what goes on" from rubber soul (which he sang as well of course), johns finger picking on this song is absolutely hypnotizing, it is definitely one of their better songs of their repetoire

At least your smart, unlike the rest of youtube... Google searching is a good thing haha

turns out you are partially correct, George Harrison wrote some of the music. When Ringo wrote the lyrics, he only had 3 chords to go with it.
