I love Mozart and this is a wonderful interpretation by Mr. Levy. He plays Brahms with similar passion and sensitivity. The thing that separates the amateurs from the pros, IMHO is the meaningful use of phrasing and dynamics. Levy's is exquisite. Most amateurs have none, most pros do but many don't have any consistent point to what they are doing!
One small critique, I think I want a little more "passion" from the orchestra. It would offer a better counterpoint to his fine performance.
no... i had a lesson with Frank Levy in the summer. It's very tender playing. It seems as if some of the orchestra aren't taking it seriously though, which is unfortunate.
