@kokym- Well I just meant to say it was originally done by Clive Skinner & Dave Curtiss as Curtiss Maldoon. Then many years later Christine Leach adapted it a bit. Finally Madonna & William Orbit did their key changes & whatnot... made it a big production,etc. That is all. I knew the original first you see so immediately recognized the intro.

People think of it as a Madonna song but she only reworked the original 1971 Curtiss Maldoon song which in fact was a slow gentle song called "Sepheryn" about an amazing dream.Singer Christine Leach was involved too. Madonna & her producer exploited this as an opus. I think Snow Patrol does this "Ray of Light" proper justice. "Sepheryn" is done with a jazz slant on Dave Curtiss' hot new cd 'Spitting on a Fish' but he uses real name David Lawrence Atkins.Check it out!

On another note, does anyone know if that is Lisa Hannigan on the key boards. It looks like it to me. I know Lisa cut her long hair & I know she can play keyboards, plus a whole bunch of other instruments. Plus, her & Gary were supposedly together. So, it would make sense if that's her playing the keyboards. Especially, the way she keeps looking at him.

Of course this is Madonna's song & usually the original person does better than the cover.. Just like, rule of thumb the book is usually better than the movie or series... Tolkien & George R. R. Martin. Although, I think Snow Patrol did an excellent job at this cover job, but it is different than the original. A lot like doing an Elvis song... If your going to do one of his songs & make it different or you will get burned every time by his original fans. He was before my time.

YOU ALL like to say that this is a better version than the original, but you need to realize that is ONLY ''YOUR'' IGNORANT POINT OF VIEW......
