@rovhatree Thank you! These videos are nice! In Japan, many people use hives like one in two videos. How can I get more information about cortiço portugal in English?
@mituro36 its hard to find but in the videos its like you do with that beehive you take half of the beehive for the bees dont die. i will try to find more info in english ok?
Wonderful video to watch. Very neet to see different types of natural beekeeping. Thanks for posting this and I hope you guys are fairing well over there since the trajic events few weeks ago.
Very nice hives and technique! We users of Warré hives employ similar methods. I note that no attempt to enforce straight comb is made--100% natural comb spacing = happy bees and more honey. Are you chewing an herb like peppermint or spearmint to pacify the bees as you blow on them? I quite like your use of an electric blower rather than the smoker so common in the West.
Mituro-san, arigatou gozaimashita! Kyoto 2-ka-getsu chu ita koto aru, keredomo mitsuhachi amari mita koto nai. Thank you for this videos of japanese traditional warre-like hives! This year I'm starting a similar way of handling the bees. Dewa mata ...
Konnichi wa,I visit Osaka regularly, my son and his japanese wife live there.I am a beekeeper here in Bath England for a hobby. I am very interested in your techniques.Do you use movable frame hives for your bees or is it always wild comb?

@seaXcrow
Thank you for your comment! I chew mint gum to pacify bees.
Smoke is not necessary because Japanese honeybees are non-offensive.
Please watch "Japanese honeybee is non-offensive" uploaded in September 2010.
