Super Earth? Really; are you telling me that that's the name their actually going with? Give a 10 year old a pen and paper and give him 15 minutes and I'm positive you could at least get 10 better names than "Super Earth".
Is unsensenless, than we as human spiece, we became so obsoleted, than we depen from everything, and also destroy everything around us, they are thinking on conquest another plantes just for wath
I watch CNN at school, they said that space travel has been set back more because after awhile in space, most astronauts develop eye problems. And usually the eye corrects itself but for some reason, they won't. So the men (and only men, this doesn't affect women) have premanent eye problems. If left longer in space, it is likely they will go blind. And because of the no gravity issue...you can't work on peoples' eyes in space.
Yep, every night I just load up my winchester and aim for one of them sparkly points of light in that there sky and just let 'er rip. If I hear a "fzzz-zzzrp", I reckon that's a star. If I hear an "ouch!", well that there's a planet with at least one unlucky mofo. Ayup.
@Megamanpwnsall363 OUR FUTURE IS MASS EFFECT NOT HALO lol just playing. I'd like to see if what we find in our speculations in video games and literatures to actually be a foresight on what will really take place. Get's me excited.
@Megamanpwnsall363 We won't live long enough. Procreation would have to take place on whatever shuttle traveled their. So, if you went, you might be buried there, but generations after you would be able to to see what the planet is like.
Ever think that everything we know about the universe is just "in theory" its all in our minds? I mean it's so mass and ever expanding, everything is LIGHT years away......now matter how we look at it were getting an old photo view of everything.....I just think it's very hard to make sense of it all, even with the best of calculations.
Not everything is an ancient photo. Our own solar system is very much in the present and observable. I understand what you're saying about the longer distances, however. What we see beyond a certain point, is the past. We don't know what's really out there now. Still, with time, you fit more and more pieces of the puzzle together. Heck, it wasn't that long ago when we thought the Earth was carried around on the back of a giant tortoise.
It's stupid that people think that if there's water, theres life. That's not entirely true. You need to have an thick atmosphere before it has anything on it.
this has less credibility than a fat kid guarding the cookie jar ... the way they tell it is so retarded i cant believe it , show a dinosaur of a scientist with crazy hair that i can hardly understand and ill give it some " hmm's !"
@VulcanXL oh trust me we have the technology. humans need to think logic . why is this new planet all of the sudden being talked about?? have a good day everyone.
I think we will live on the moon before a habitual planet.. Because we don NOT have the technology to get to there in a reasonable manner.. It takes what, Like 5-10 days to get to the moon?
@CptNickk By the time we actauly go to this "super earth" we would already have advanced enough to find solutions to stop at least most of the shit that pollutes the air
like those damn "pollution stacks" over some facotries (you know what i mean) maybe we would have an alternative for those thats the equvilant of an electric cigarret for earth (sounds stupid? not realy if you think about it).
@amartinez97 sadly I dont think so not with this standards.. I mean we humans have been advancing our technology rapidly over a few years BUT we forget to advance as a spiece. I mean we are gridy and as the years goes by we continue to getting more and more gridy.. We always whant more... We dont have a stop point.. So at this point ( if we had now this technology) I wouldn 't agree to do the journey. Sorry for my bad English
@CptNickk too much greed and corruption in the world, just think if we, the human race actually worked together as a species, how much more technologically advanced we would be....
@TradeMark2003 exactly my friend! That s why I believe that we can leave Earth not when we are technologically advanced but when we soul advanced. We humans have a lot of potentials to do great things..
I can only imagin how meany other planets there r out there. Makes u think. I hope were not the only living people in the universe. The universe is so big we will never know.
Has anyone heard of the new planet discovered 2 days ago, GJ667Cc? Its 4.5xbigger than our earth, Another super planet, has two suns with a dwarf star orbiting the bigger sun. But what ive been wondering is, Is it possible for us to live on it if we ever got there? Because if you think about it,4.5x bigger than earth, means more of a gravitational pull. the force is greater, Wouldn't it just crush us?curios to know, would be great if someone could help me out with this lol its givin me a headache
@blackout5011 Actually it would depend on the mass of the planet and it's physical size. According to Newton's law of universal gravitation, F=Gmm/r^2, where G is a universal gravitational constant, and both the m's are the masses of the two objects that you wish to test the force for, and r is the distance between the center of mass of the two objects. Since it's proportional to the inverse square of the distance, the size would play a major role, as would the mass. More data is needed to know.
@amdathlon27 Thats kinda what I was thinking, You couldn't just go by the force and assume that because of its size it would be alot greater, No doubt it would have to be somewhat greater but so much it crushes us? I thought otherwise but was told that , yeah we'll just have to wait and see what more they can find out about it.
we can get to this planet very easy.all we have to do is use the interstellar womhole that develops over norway.aliens have been using this wormhole for millions of years to gain access to earths precious metals.........hold on my joint went out ..where were we ,oh yeah the alien wormhole !
even a speed of voyager cant reach that planet... the only way is to travel via interstella spacecraft that can travel a thousands mile a second possible can reach that planet lessthan hundred years but i think more years to come before an interstella spacecraft could be made xD
@JohnTheKiller11 It's 36ly away. Meaning that it takes light 36 years to travel that distance. Converted to MPH, light travels at 6.706x10^8 mph (~670,600,000 mph). We have trouble accelerating to even a fraction of that speed. A light year is 5,879,000,000,000 miles. 36 light years is 211,600,000,000,000 miles.
Watch us go over there start a new fucking whollle civilization and agriculture then polute it and make the ground barren and have cities with rape and killing and everything else thats going on over here...new wars fighing for land...just..watch
@Axel1790 if we could get there it would take our tec at least 300 years to get to getthere, so buy then we wouldn't use fossil fuels negateing the magority of polution and as long as we dont send idiots to magnage the land its fine itsn't it strage how the west doesn't have the barren farmsland problem(you know with our farming knowledge) and south america(who are destroying all there forests for what turns out to be awful farmland) have that problem, so i doubt very highly that will
@Axel1790 happen with the rate of medical, energy and agricultral tecnology growth we will no longer need to polute, you really have no faith in man kind, our problem today is we do not let the smartest lead, we let the most popular, who just like the cool kids at high school, are most likly idiots
"it's only 36 light years away".... Uhhhhhh..... ONLY?!?! So if we're realllllly lucky, we might get there in the next 5.000 years... Unless we figure out how to bend space...
@yougotit96 Maybe lightspeed would make it there, but it would be really REALLY hard to make considering it would have to make a worm hole to the 600 light years away.
@TheEasy2KillU This is straight from the article itself. Buddy. "NASA announced a major milestone in the quest for life in the universe Monday: The discovery of another planet close enough to the sun it orbits to potentially support life.
Called Kepler-22b, the planet is about 2.4 times the radius of Earth and about 600 light-years away. "
Phew. I started my journey on the internet today with the NASA video of Earth from space at night, then through related videos I got to that.....weird part..of Youtube.... demons and ghosts and Hell and end of the world prophecies.......but now I've finally come back around to Astronomy videos once again! Hooray I'm back from my strange voyage.

@Axel1790 Dude... thatd be fuckin sick
DJizzleDrizzle 3 weeks ago
@Axel1790 if we could get there it would take our tec at least 300 years to get to getthere, so buy then we wouldn't use fossil fuels negateing the magority of polution and as long as we dont send idiots to magnage the land its fine itsn't it strage how the west doesn't have the barren farmsland problem(you know with our farming knowledge) and south america(who are destroying all there forests for what turns out to be awful farmland) have that problem, so i doubt very highly that will
TheAlexagius 3 weeks ago
@Axel1790 happen with the rate of medical, energy and agricultral tecnology growth we will no longer need to polute, you really have no faith in man kind, our problem today is we do not let the smartest lead, we let the most popular, who just like the cool kids at high school, are most likly idiots

@MonsterArrow unless we discover the technology to reach light speed , witch we already know how to do...
yougotit96 4 weeks ago
@yougotit96 Maybe lightspeed would make it there, but it would be really REALLY hard to make considering it would have to make a worm hole to the 600 light years away.
MonsterArrow 4 weeks ago
@MonsterArrow He said it's only 36 light years away buddy. not 600.
