Watched the credits from God Grew Tired of Us to catch the name of this song. Here is some information for those of you who are interested in the lyrics and their meaning.

"Guramayle," which Gigi sub-titled "a love song to a child of the Diaspora," addresses the difficulty she has had trying to fit in with her countrymen after seeing so much of the outside world.In Ethiopia, "guramayle" is a put-down used to belittle those who have become too European and forgotten their roots.

Im not that good of a translator but she is saying the "Guramayle leju" which means the mixed ethnicity, like caramel skinned guy.

The lyrics are on her first alblum GiGi! The subtitle means "love song to a child of the Diaspora making it positive. Out of love for the land of their parents' origin they too mix Amharic Fulah,Tti English, French,etc. The origin meaning is a derisive term that refers to those who mix foreign language into their Amharic,connoting lack of pride and confidence in one's own culture. She's in love with a boy who stuggles to express his love in his broken Amharic. Music is universal & we feel it.
