  • Even though the video is grainy as hell OGRE'S coolness still shines through! OGRE is the man!

  • that video effect at 4.09 was rich...

  • When Ministry was good.

  • Ministry died the day Paul Barker left, plain and simple.

  • @jeherrera17 I fully agree, Animosity was their last great album, he added that special dimension to the music, to me Ministry will always be Paul Barker and Al Jourgenson.

  • @Ryanyarb24 animositisomina was like getting up when everyone has tagged you as being dead

  • This Video Is Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @vampyricIust Simply, genius like this is built to be but a brilliant flash, then gone for eternity. Sad but true...we can only pay homage like a thousand pagan rituals before....

  • love this cover

  • shame on you einstein, i will stay back in this, MY time! great song, great show and thanks for the video !.

  • it sucks that all these guys are now estranged and that the drugs caused it all to implode, dave has nothing to do with ogre and cevin, barker has been sued by al and bill well he plays for rem now. but the good thing is we all have the music that these individuals have created so for that i am thinkful and i am happy that all the above mentioned are still around, although i give my respects to raven, ward, and dwayne and the others that have past on that were involved in this scene.

  • @vampyricIust Ohhhhhhh, caught in a bad bromance...

  • I was at this show...wow I remember this shit...awesome to see it up here!

  • fucking hell this is FANTASTIC!

  • Original is better- especially the Peel session version

  • geiler song! mein geburtsjahr;-)

  • this was Skinny Puppy's downfall, Ogre hooking up with Jourgensen and getting all strung out on heroin and turning into a cheeseball rockstar.

  • @erreur im pretty sure Ogre was doing all sorts of drugs before he met AJ.but i do agree,H was part of downfall, and having member of SP OD didnt help.Al is a piece of shit junkie who dosent care who he brings down with him.Unfortuneately i knew someone personally. she met al in texas mid 90's.she partied a little but was never into h or crack. really sweet girl, just a bit starstruck.6mo later,50lbs lighter, her parents had to literaly kidnap her and into rehab back in Cali.doing well now.fuck AJ

  • @simptoes not al's fault people couldnt handle the chaos. He could.

  • @simptoes sad . . . I've always maintained that being an amazing artist doesn't necessarily mean that you're worth a s**t as a person.

  • Oops, I was mistaken. Sounded kinda like Ogre for a reason then. :)

  • @DrVice1 it is odd. long time ministry fan and a bigger fan of SP. me and my friend always curious how a cuban from texas(among other mid western states)sings with an english-esque accent.

  • @simptoes

    And half-Norwegian too..

  • great but sadly you can't hear anything from the crash drums?

  • @DrVice1 I have to mention that this is Ogre on vocals. Rave worked the board during the show. If you listen in the beginning, Ogre's pointing to and introducing Rave to the crowd. Trust me, back in those days, if anyone introduced themselves in such a manner, they wouldn't last long.

Those shows were jam packed with great moments...of which most were right on the edge. I miss those days.

  • Fuckin' A man! Nice Post!

  • holy crap I love this so fucking much!!! thanks for posting! :D

  • fantastic - thank-you for posting this! I just discovered the Magazine version and now to see my late 80s teen heroes (Skinny Puppy & Ministry) were doing it live too is way cool!

  • tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune

  • wow, great quality, thx for uploading this one

  • Wow, great audio considering the age. Greatness

  • No. It was wriiten and performed by Magazine originally. Peter Murphy's version is a cover.

  • @TheHostel2000 BY MAGAZINE!

  • @BLACKSUNR1SE ok guys don´t need to get mad i actually thought that Peter Murphy´s version was the original one, but i like it anyway so my apologies to you all.

  • i wasn't really mad i was saying it with a ssssuper gay suthun bell accent!

  • nice

  • Wow, I have only ever heard Peter Murphy's version of this.. I thought he wrote it. This is so cool! If you like Ministry's version, try Peter Murphy's version.

  • I've heard all three versions, and I have to say this Ministry one's up there with the Magazine original IMO

  • I was really impressed with this cover the first time I heard it. Magazine were so fucking innovative, and this version is very close to the original.

  • Magazine are back together and still shit hot! And I'm so happy!

  • Would agree with that. Spot on.

  • The late Jeff Ward...

  • @hausdok no

  • Really good version.

  • True about the American Idol thing. Any band that puts something out today is totally packaged and processed. This video is great. I like this song from Animositisomnia and knew it was a cover, but I didn't know that Ministry had been covering it for so long. I love the start when the drums are going and the song it is getting ready to start, there's what looks like random people walking around the stage

  • And some crazy chick getting thrown off :p

  • I love this one so much!

    Awesome!!!

  • its a shame...that now all these kids have is american idol

  • Yeah, and whats even worse is how they seem completely oblivious to things that are much better in taste. Looks like fashion (emo) and corporate-accountants are more in control than ever before!

  • @volleyballonconcrete Its sad because music was stolen away from the people and now just big business corporate shit and the generation dosnt even know what real freedom they are missing.

  • furkin awsesome sound .cant get it out of my head

  • fukkin Great !!! Job !!!@doinIT! awesome ThankXXXX jonny.

    yr BRUCE CARKISS

  • feeeeeck! Thanx for this!!!!!

  • NICE ONE !!!!!!

  • sweet! thanks for uploading this!

  • Great,,, I wonder why it took them another 12+ years to put it on an album.

Funny thing is, I saw them a few years back and they did this right after playing something from Twitch. Talk about a flashback...the metalheads in the room didn't know what to make of it.

  • Do you remember which tour you attended or the year of the concert? Ministry didn't officially incorporate any material from "Twitch" into their setlists since 1988's "The Land of Rape and Honey Tour".

I consider "Twitch" and "The Land of Rape and Honey" to be such musical rarities in Ministry's discography. I wish I could have attended the tours for those respective releases (mid-to-late 80s), but alas, I wasn't even born then!

  • That's not true...this was the Animositisomina tour in...2002? They did "We Believe" in one of the encores. This was at the Phoenix show. At least, I THINK it was "We Believe"...could have been "Just Like You".

And yes, my jaw dropped because I had never seen them play anything from Twitch. They always play Stigmata though, and I've seen a few other TLORAH songs over the past 10 or so years.

  • That is awesome!! I'm green with envy! :P

  • @csp42 at first i wanted to agree with you but if you look at the logo on the back of Ogre's jacket and the fact that he is smoking cigarettes seem to suggest this is an older performance.

  • Ogre was, is and shall always be the fucking man.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video, it is brilliant.

  • Woo-Hoo! Yay Heroin!!

  • I see and hear this , then realize... Trent Reznor is a lazy cocksucker.

Who could he even cover as a tribute to what inspired him. No one because it would suck shit,.. he even knows this.

  • He covered Joy Division's Dead Souls which he did an amazing job on and he covered Adam Ant, Queen and The Normal's Warm Leatherette. You should research before you make any accusation, you fucking dumb asshole!

  • yeah that dead souls was just fucking awesome, it did'nt sound just like a nin song, real angry and slow, then hard. OH MY GOODNESS I almost forgot about the embarrassing adam ant being his co-pilot and having him on stage, I'm guessing "stand and deliver" is Reznors fav song by him....

Yet Skinny Puppy made an album with Throbbing Gristle.

I do aplogize for being so uniformed.

  • Is that Jeff Ward on drums?

  • Bill Rieflin... (R.I.P.)

  • ?

Jeff Ward has, sadly, passed away. But Bill Rieflin has been REM's drummer for the last 10 years.

  • Yeah, bro. My bad.

  • Itś on Animositisomina CD I was think that itś originally by Ministry...oooops

  • WOW! what a great cover. that guy Ogre can chant

  • I was at this concert,great show....

  • OGRE!!!!

  • funny, i was just listening to Magazine's album 'Real Life' last night. I have the Toronto '88 video. I still need this on DVD! :)

  • Yeah, Ministry hasn't been the same since he left.

  • Awesome, this song appears too in the "Animositisomina" album in a great studio version by Ministry

  • Everytime Jourgenson and Ogre teamed up it was a success in my book.... PTP...Acid Horse...or a live show (like this one)

  • If you love Nivek Ogre, check out the upcoming movie REPO! The Genetic Opera. It's a rock opera, and he stars in it, so that means plenty of him singing. ^_^

  • Another awesome live version of Light Pours Out Of Me is by Sleep Chamber if you can find it.

  • how long does it take for a dog to starve to death in a laboratory ?

  • Brilliant version of a classic!

so glad you've posted this video!

  • Fantastic. Always loved magazine but this a great version

  • Hilarious.

  • oh god this sounds just like pigface all over again, thank you so much

  • Fucking brilliant

  • the track on animositisomina is good too

  • Ogre + Ministry = manna from heaven!!!

  • Wow Very Fucking Nice! THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH!

  • Thank you soooo much for uploading this video! This song rocks, brilliant cover, and love Nivek! <3

  • fucking krazy man wooh

  • WOW.....truly awesome find! thanks for posting!

  • WHAT A GEM! Thanks!

  • Ministry+Skinny Puppy+Magazine= happy me! It's actually pretty good quality for 1988 as well.thanks!!
