In my "adopted" hometown of Vicenza, there's this place called Monte Berico. It has this spot that overlooks the town; and the last time I was there, I was thinking of this song. I say this because I practically grew up in Vicenza, and looking over it while knowing that I will have some day leave it with out a reason to stay. But Vicenza will always have a special spot in my book, and when I leave, it will be like I am going through the chorus.
This song is a more then great exit for such an extraordinary band that only Morten, Magne, and Pal could pull off. Thanks for everything guys. You are greatly missed by many all over the place.
We need more view's of this amazing song. So come on folk's. let's spread the gospel according to a-ha, you just have to, if you love this amazing band. They may be no more, but let's all keep their memory alive, this is a brilliant swansong from the boy's, so let us do it justice, and just click on this video. In fairness, this track sound's as fresh as any of their early stuff, it's right up there with the very best that they've given us, then again. everything they do,(did) was always great.
On a fatefull Friday morning in late Spring/ early Summer 2010, I was introduced to and became a die hard a-ha fan. Ever since then, I have made up for lost time, listened to their music and got their CDs. Thanks for the music Morten, Magne, and Paul. Your music got me through some tough/ emotional moments.
A-ha is without a doubt a greatly under appreciated band. His music has influenced pop culture in the last 30 day. With this song close in a very high note an amazing career. The music, the lyrics, the voice, the meaning.... A-ha forever...!
A-Ha is a beautiful scar in my life, that reminds me good and bad moments of my youth. I'm glad to say I lived those 80's days. Songs and lyrics which defined a generation. A-Ha forever!
Because of Morten i studied music and became a singer, because of A-ha i'm writing music!!!After Living a Boy's Adventure Tale,my life would never be the same again.....
It's amazing the idea to use only synthesizer like they begun on 80's. The start of the song it's a authentic 80's style. A-ha changed his music over the years, like happen with all musicians, but the quality is the same or better. Bono Vox said one time that A-ha is the most creative band that he knows
@Xinn2000 i think their is no good music unless the music came from an era with good music hence DM A-Ha Gary Numan NIN Nirvana etc. and 4 outta five of those still around so no new bands are great but old ones do still produce great material i hate the new music but i love the old ones that actually cared about production and using their voice not autotune.
@ChildIncomplete A-ha Rearly ever used auto-tune. you can listen to 1 of there song ANNYONE you want and then find a live version of it on YouTube and it will sound nearly 100% identical to the studio version of the song
They are not part of "today",they are part of 1980's...when people say "today", they mean shite like justin bieber, black eyed peas, and katy perry...
I think at least somewhere between 100 and 200 of the views are mine. I love this song, and it's one of the main reasons I got the 25 album to begin with.
Not a lot guys can pull off what Pal is wearing...again...fashion, the looks, awesome writings and the best talent ever...from the beginning til the end...will always be my #1 band! =) Thanks guys for helping me at an awkward stage in my life as I was growing up..my teenage years..lol! =0}
feliz por ter vivido e acompanhado o a-ha desde os meus 11 anos de idade, minhas melhores lembranças da minha infancia era de ouvir a-ha em meados de 1986 nos radios.
@Bxfineztmatt18 I wouldnt be too bothered about the likes of "Hannah Montana" or "Justin Bieber". They might have more hits than a-ha, but then again, ask yourself the question. Will they still be around in 25 years?. I dont think so , in fact Id nearly bet my house on it. Kids love them, thats the only reason for their popularity. More luck to them. We should all just be grateful that we had a-ha for all of those 25 years of musical genius. I certainly feel so lucky to have grown to love a-ha
I love this song . . the words, the music, the feeling that I get listening to it, especially knowing that this was their last video together as a group, makes me sad but happy that I did buy Hunting High and Low otherwise I would not have been given to opportunity to enjoy the greatest band of my generation. We were fortunate that Pal and Magne realized that Morten was their missing key to greatness, and the rest as they say is history. Thank you A-ha, from the bottom of my heart . . thank you
I'm so annoyed that this video has under half a million views.. while Hannah Slutana and Justin Queerber have over 100 million. People cant recognize good music for shit any more. Such a shame. Thumbs up if you agree with me.
They Went Out With a bang and I personally believe this is their best, most well written, and most beautiful songs. Thank you for many years of beautiful music.
Just love the pensive thoughts, the wry smiles and the nods of acknowledgement that this is an end of an era. A history of A-ha in one song. Il'll certainly be following their individual careers. Roll on March when Morten releases his album!!!!!
Pains me to say it, but the writing was always on the wall with a-ha. If the rumours are right about tensions amongst the three lads, then it was inevitable they were always going to go their separate ways. Such a shame, because in my book they were just finding their original sound all over again with the release of "Foot Of The Mountain. In hindsight though theyre not alone on this, it happens with a lot of bands, famous or otherwise. Its life, but they obviously soldiered on. Such a pity.
@medazaman I agree. A lot of the stuff they did in the early days was forced upon them and commerialised. Not to say it wasn't good-they pulled it off. Starting from East of the Sun... they gradually found themselves. Memorial Beach was a fantastic album and my favourite so far. Minor Earth also good-Summer moved on is fantastic. Lifelines not their best. Analogue better and I agree Foot of the Mountain was taking them to a new level. Shame its come to an end but thankyou for the music!
I am coming from the states. I kept a-ha dear to my heart ever since their breakthrough with Take On Me. I hate there wasn't more like me over here. A-ha was an awesome group. And I absolutely loved this song when I first heard it on their 25 cd. And now that I have seen this video, I love it even more. The ending was so sad in a way for me, but I wouldn't have changed a thing about it. And I do believe Morten has gotten sexier with age. Wahooo. Long live a-ha, in our hearts and on youtube!!!!!
@iammontecristo that's great to know. I have loved a-ha ever since I was 12, and got their tape Hunting High and Low (one of the first tapes that I bought on my own) I loved it, and tried desperately to keep up with them, but as you know over here in the US after their first few albums it was a lost cause. All I can say is Thank God for Amazon. I absolutely love this song, and the cd is awesome and amazing. Can't wait to get more of their stuff.
@fatbaby73 so there with ya! I really wish they were more of hit in the US - I was also thinkin Morten was become hotter as he aged...I'm actually dating a 50 yr old and I love my BF but Morten looks younger for sure =} we definitely missed out on a very talented band...so instead we have Justin Bieber who came from you-tube...no offense to the ones who like him...but this band has been my top notch band from the beginning and will always be ~
The other day, I was feeling moody for no apparent reason, so I turned this song on, and I snapped right out of it. Thanks aha, for creating music that gets me out of feeling blue.
@ YouTellytuber . Yes the video was directed by Steven Barron, so you could say that he was with them at the start of their careers with "Take on me" right through to the very end with this lasting number, their "last hurrah" and only fittingly so.
You say Jonas Brothers, I say The Rolling Stones
You say Justin Bieber, i say Queen
You say Taylor swift, i say Guns & Roses
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK&ROLL DIE
These three guys are awesome, from the beginning to the end of the band's journey. This music video is meant to transcend the band to another level of existence. Does anyone know that this video is directed by Steven Barron, the very same guy who directed the band's breakthrough music video "Take On Me"?
a-ha's songs won't get old, and I find them to fit any mood (such as getting me out a "feeling blue" moment). Thanks for everything, Morten, Magne, and Paul. Your music is timeless.
beautiful voice, lyrics, song in general. all i heard so far leaves me believing Aha had such insight/ wisdom / empathy at such a young age . they are wonderful!!!
Please don´t leave the rock-pop alone, you are the best band representative of the most exquisite music of the world. you're my heroes. I'm a mexican who loves your music a lot...
