  • The hard disk screw is in the lid dummy!

  • wow! so easy to replace the ram memory and the hard drive, i loved this netbook =D

  • fan is loud on my s10e!!!

  • Hey,

I am getting this Laptop in about 2 weeks i need to ask some Questions

-How Long is the Battery Life?

    -Is the RAM slow/fast/medium?

    -Hows the Graphics

-Can you see the Screen Like OK and dont have to Go RIGHT-UP to the thing.

    Ok Thanks =D

  • There is apparently 512mb soldered on to the motherboard, that can't be replaced.

  • @EveryoneLovesAustin WQHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH NOOOOOOB!

  • I put my new Crucial 2GB Chip in the S10 that I got and on Windows 7 build 7000 public Beta release, it said i got 2.50 GB RAM total!!!!! The thing is a zippy little thing now.

    Danny

  • The same screw from the lid you opened holds the HDD in place.

So it does have a screw holding it in place. You just removed it with the cover.

  • anyone here know the current price for this netbook i seen $299.99 on PC CONNECTION but is it cheaper somewhere else thanks plus im going to try myself putting in not 500gb hard drive like other user here great job by te way to give it a try and worked thats cool but my test is finding a way to add 1TB in it and 4 gb ram if i find a great price for system 1st

  • i got 2.5 gb to work and put a 500gb hdd in it now my fav ultra portable

  • i have 2gb in mine. it sees 2gb :)

  • really? goodjob, try putting in 3 or 4 gb to see if it sees it.

  • give me a 4gb ram stick then ill do it.

  • haha lol

  • This guy has the grace of a train wreck on fire. His persona should not be publicly viewed.

  • too small

  • The pc has 1 gb ram preinstalled. 512mb that is replaceble, and 512mb somewhere else in the netbook. The maximum of ram on this thing is 2gb, so if you replace the 512mb ram with 2gb ram, you will have 2,5 gb ram, but it will only use 2,0 ! :) If anyone got that .. :P

  • are you sure it will read 2gb...i read somewhere it would still only read just 1 1/2...

i really hope it reads 2 at least...i will go out and buy it when you give me the answer

    thanks for your time

  • It only reads 1 1/2 gb of the 2gb you have to put in there. But there is already innstalled 512mb somewhere else in the netbook.. As you know 1 1/2 + 1/2 = 2.

  • thanks for the assurance

  • no problem :)

  • so really, if you wanted to upgrade the ram space wouldn't you just need to buy an extra 1gb ram? preinstalled 512mb somewhere + 1gb is 1.5gb which is it's capacity anyway so no need to buy a 2gb ram right?

  • the capacity is 2gb ram! but 1.5 gb cards for this pc doesn't exist, so if you want the full capacity, you have to buy 2gb, and replace it with the 512 mb that is preinstalled.

  • i thought the capacity was 1.5gb ram T_T

  • so, with the 2 gb would it be faster, i have the (512) 1gb and it`s slow and i want it to be faster, what do you thing??? and wich it would be good to buy???

  • It is not a very fast PC, because it is a netbook. But yes, it will become a little faster if you replace the 512mb with 2gb. I don't know wich is the best to buy, because i don't remember wich one i have :p

  • @adesbaseg actually it depends what type of netbook you get because i got a netbook just a regular mini netbook with a ARM processor and i changed it because lucky me it wasnt soldered down and put a 1.6ghz and it only had 1gb ram and the thing did everything my laptop did and its got a 3gb ram and a 2ghz processor. ( CHANCES OF LUCK )

  • IDE or SATA Hard Drive? Be interesting to see the speed increase if you put a 7200 RPM hdd in. Think the standard is 5400 RPM correct?

  • I'm sure that since this is a new product that's it gonna be a SATA HDD...I thought this video to be REALLY cool..and could you imagine the S10 if somebody slapped a 500GB @7200rpm inside!?!? cRaZy it'll be nuckin' futs! *LMAO* I'm in the market for a Notebook and I'm really diggin the Lenovo Y series for my personal use.

  • I bought one and it does have a SATA hdd. I upgraded to a 250gb 5400 RPM.

  • Have you had a chance to upgrade the ram yet?

  • PCIe slot has easy access underneath the wrist rest. Remove 4 screws from the bottom and the wrist rest comes off.

Also 512MB is soldered on underneath the so-dimm slot.

  • so, 512 mb version have this one slot free, right?

  • I think so. Just don't bame it on me If I'm wrong, but the one cnet had was a 512 and theirs had an empty space for upgrading.
