  • OK In the ending the dude on the left looks like Ryo Sakazaki with his orange gi

also this ending is crao, I prefer the one where she comes back to life or is she alive here as you see her shed a tear IN A PHOTO?

  • you know you're a badass boss type when you have a palace that includes bottomless pits of death.

  • Never played the arcade version when it came out, or even tried to see it until just now. Only played the NES version from Acclaim, when it originally came out. Did Acclaim also make the arcade version? And why are the arcade and NES versions so totally different?

  • @RodConvoy1987 Taito made Double Dragon I believe. The versions are so different because the NES has very limited capabilities (ram/cpu) compared to a dedicated arcade chip built to run a particular game.

  • @digitalintent Ok. So how/why did Acclaim make the NES version?

  • @RodConvoy1987 Acclaim either bought the rights to the game or they were contracted to create the game for Nintendo. Many arcade ports in the 8-bit and 16-bit era were created by outside developers. Acclaim already created console titles. Taito may have not cared, had the funds, or expertise to create console games. This still sometimes happens today with PC to console ports and vice versa.

  • Thats right folks, happy endings for all!

  • Sprites ridiculously small, dull colors, boring platform sequences, a silly happy ending, and above all stupid cyberpunk atmosphere with gigantic helicopters, all mixed with a poor story-telling. NES Double dragon II is just a pile of shit compared to DD II arcade. Well, nintendo fanboys... I have a master system but I can not say that the SMS version of DD1 is better than the coin-op. I recently rediscovered the arcade version of DD2 and now I think that this is the best game of the series.

  • 7.20.88 FURI COLOR, in this date, I had 14 years old. melancolic game ending...

  • whether just for a simple final

  • What is Duke Nukem and a "I totally fucked Marilyn Monroe"-faced John F. Kennedy doing in this gamer? I'm confused.

  • shes an ugly bitch!

  • PURE OWNAGE FROM 5:09 to 5:13!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • LOL this level is practically the same as the last one in the original game, just reskinned. DD2 was a rush job

  • What a shitty ending screen.

  • 7:48 double rapeface time

  • wierd ending. Billy and Jimmy look like retards, staring at her boobs.

  • Dramboo!

  • I never knew Arnold Schwarzenegger was in this game at 1:54 until now. XD

  • Ahhh.. Those sweet sounds of punching in the 80's. LOL

  • So do the brothers "share" their girlfriend? lol

  • Bimmy and Jimmy deserve better than that nasty two-bit whore.

  • The Biker dudes remind me of the old WWE Tag Team Demolition! ;-D

  • @6:09 You can defeat me Billy but can you defeat yourself?

  • ROADHOUSE!

  • i read the latest news that DD2 is getting some kind of remake and it's gonna be and 360 exclusive

  • @15551cue I saw the trailer , it sucks ass.

  • @JuicyPlayer lol

  • the music for the old arcade games are so awesome...so atmospheric

  • @dalecampbl6 Yep. Absolutely.

  • The NES version is the true Double Dragon 2, the arcade version is a fucking mess....Thank God someone knew what they were doing back in the day, gotta love Technos Japan Corp, R.I.P.

  • yes, but they kind of screwed up DD3

  • @dalecampbl6 Yeah I agree, DD3 was the death of the franchise...Super Double Dragon tried to make a come back but it was already too late, still a great game though but DD2 (NES) was DD perfection.

  • @Pazzled

Not really because Battletoads & Double Dragon was awesome! It was more like Double Dragon V : The Shadow Falls and the Neo Geo version that killed it!

  • @Pazzled I totally agree with you. I've never played the arcade version, but from the looks and everything of it, NES indeed is the true sequel to DD2. I'm glad you pointed that out.

  • she's alive? i thought she was shot dead

  • @15551cue

    Marian is dead.

    in this arcade version.

  • The big boss has refurbished his castle quite nicely I see :)

  • ahhhhh............NES those were the days, look at the way he throws the kick 2:08 & 2:44, fucking hillarious...

  • @MadMax1Hammer You do know this is the arcade version and not the NES right?

  • fat dude with sunglasses looks like one of my lab teachers

  • @MadMax1Hammer

Yeah I know, but it was out for the NES as well, I had it on the NES that's why I posted that..

  • I hate that there are no credits at the end of the game.

  • Great playthrough! This game always makes me sad. What a sad way to begin a game, because you know that even if you beat the game, she's still dead...

  • Marina is Dead. What you see is a past photo of her for memory sake. Hence why she drops a tear. Granted this is not explained, but Japan is not used to explaining every little detail that is obvious to themselves.

U.S.A. is just full of politics and sports. No artistic critical thinkers.

  • @ACRedsCreations= the ending was greatly altered in the NES version. Instead of that machine gun dude, you fight a mysterious warrior known only as the Illusionist. Then, after the fight, God brings Marian back to life, and thus a more happier ending. I'm telling the truth dude. It's all here on YouTube. KamilDowonna has it all.

  • @vigo894 yeah i've seen it. it was release to be more kid friendly. i'm just trying to settle the questions below. :)

  • @vigo894 on the NES version you fight the Illusionist as well. you fight the Gun guy in DD1

  • Comment removed

  • 7:47 XD Bahahahaha!

  • Love the way its the same boss as one, just with a red shirt this time lol.

  • da bruhz r in this

  • The double illusion music is straight up nightmare fuel.

  • BLAH! That ending ate ass! Look at Billy and Jimmy... HORRIBLE! (Great playing though. You're good.)

  • Let the beatdown begin @ 5:09 - 5:14

  • What the hell are those bigass guys with the sunglasses saying when they attack? Sounds like they're saying "Imprudent"? I hate those fuckin' guys! Love this game though. Probably my favorite of the original DD games.

  • i think FC version is better than this version

  • exelente juego yo le jugaba al doble dragon 1 como se la aguanta el de la metralleta le gusta que le den se reciste bastante muy good soy oscar de don torcuato buenos aires argentina.

  • Those big guys with shades look like an elderly David Caruso after one too many trips to the buffet.

  • I wonder what would have happened to the rest of the storyline for Double Dragon if they went with the arcade's route where Marion is dead?

Then again, Marion is rarely, if not never, mentioned in the sequels...

  • Reskinned DD1 Mission 4 is almost EXACTLY the same

  • WHUT THA HELL All Dis 4 A Bullshit Ending? & Tha Last Boss On The NES Wuz Way Better Den Dis Shit At Least On The Nintendo U Fought Yourself B4 The Big Brawl But On Here U Wuz Tha LAst Boss & Dey Just Had 2 Bring BAck Rooper THe Nigga Wit Tha Gun

  • @ASHTREFISHER Nes double dragon is crap compared to the arcade games.

  • @ojideagu Lol I Disagree

  • @ojideagu NES was just really hard, too may traps and tricky jumps, hard to beat.. The NES also fetures a different boss and Marianne also comes back to life, wierd

  • I think my local shop ripped me off when i was a kid man lol!!! They charged me 10 pence a game,it says 1p on this one.

  • @williamblair11 1p and 2p stood for Player 1 and Player 2. It was 25 cents american to play this in 1989.

  • what is old duke nukem with suspenders actually saying? sounds like, "imprudent!" to me...fuck you old duke nukem.

  • @NuggetPumpkin It sounds like he's saying something like "It's food!" or something XD

  • 6:01 -- The game sounds an awful lot like Splatterhouse now... 0_0

  • Wow, the ending sucks. NES version was MUCH better.

  • jimmy and biilly look perverts in the end

  • Ooh he nearly had you then at the end but fair enough you pretty much kicked all of their asses! I remember having thus game for St and finding that last boss really hard but I was only about 8 at the time :-)

  • Já cabulei muita aula pra ficar no flipper jogando.

  • Tall people are freaky.

  • ok the duke nuken looking guy is it me or does it sound he is saying sonic boom

  • @elcubanito1700 It always sounded like "Hey fooo!" to me... lol

  • this game had some of the most retarded looking thugs I've ever seen

  • not like the Amiga game

  • Like Longplay [432] Rambo III From: cubex55 | July 17, 2008 | 7,038 views Loading..

  • LOL how the bad guys keep jumping off cliffs. :D

  • Those fucking goddamn Mr. Cools @ 8:05!

  • I liked the main boss's old pad better. So full of GOLD! :)

  • Has anyone noticed that in the picture with Billy and Jimmy that Marion looks like Lady Gaga without all those weird costumes she wears lol

  • Wow. Nice mullets guys.

  • Is it just me or do the big guys in the light blue pants and black eye masks like saying "Says Who??"

  • 1:58 Is that dude saying poo poo?

  • There's no Billy or Jimmy Lee, they are the good Hammer and Spike ;o)

  • Nice strategy on the green dudes with the sticks.

  • Is it just me or is Double Dragon 2 way inferior to Double Dragon 1? I much prefer the original for it's music, backgrounds, and ending. The 2nd looks like it was rushed and released just to make some money. Funny thing is i know the 2nd one came much after the 1st. But shouldn't the sequel have been much better then? Personally i find DD2 skippable. There were tons of better games released that year (such as almost most of them).

  • Love the music when you fight your doppelganger, I miss the days when arcades were a big thing.

  • HMPH! LoL dont u just love the transition from projects to farm to rocky temple?? genius LOL!

  • @MrBito862 LOL yes they walk a few feet and into another landscape or country

  • You mean to tell me this crim organization could afford all that real estate including a really elaborate temple complete with traps...but they could only afford to arm ONE person with a machine gun??? Instead of hiring zombie fatsos to break out of walls, they should have just bought a few machine guns/grenades/rocket launchers off the black market and killed Billy and Jimmy straight out while they were sleeping or something. Whoever runs this gig is a complete retard :P

  • @HadeanAgent lol unfortunately it cost more to train one person in the art of karate then it does to buy one gun and in fact by the end of the fiasco year they had reported a loss of 10 million dollars and thats why Willy never fired off a shoot in this video because they couldn't afford bullets.

  • @HadeanAgent Worst part is, the only guy WITH a machine gun never shoots the gun at you! He keeps whipping you with it! USE YOUR BULLETS, WILLY!!!

  • @HadeanAgent

Or he did not want any of his underlings to get ambitious.

  • @HadeanAgent

    They had granades

  • Very good point although it would have been a bit of a shit game. Put your 10p in and immediately get shot and killed. Punching the crap out of everyone's a lot more fun.

  • @HadeanAgent

they are a karate sect so they don't really use machine guns except that one guy does .

  • @HadeanAgent HEY! SHUTUP! It makes perfect sense... by 1980's logic. They had all that stuff, but Billy & Jimmy stole it. to to trade it in for that fancy gunship. That's why the gansters blew away that prostitute to begin with. The dumb part is... the gansters have one machinegun but Billy & Jimmy have an attack helicopter. They must not have any gas for it, why else wouldn't they use it?

  • @HadeanAgent Man that was the late 80´s, in that time the people only took care of one thing and that thing was to beat the shit out of other people... simple math !, do the math like jaguar slogan, opps that was mid 90´s, srry my bad...

  • @HadeanAgent yea i agree. kinda like that pro wrestling stuff from the 80s and 90s when wrestlers or wrestling groups tried to end hulkamania. couldnt one of them just shoot hogan and claim victory lol

  • @HadeanAgent= Must have been Skeletor.

  • Good work, i completed it with 50 credits...

  • The good old elbow for those oversize opponents. Lol.

  • Sad face@Ending...

  • And so, Marian was brought back...WITHOUT HER BRAIN!

  • @heardofrvb LOL no kidding man, she looks completely braindead and Billy and Jimmy have these looks on their faces like they're going to plow her any minute now

  • I never understood why you were fighting a shadow version of yourself in the end. Is that suppose to be some kind of metaphor for your anger and rage over Marion's death. I always kinda thought of it that way. And I have to say the ending though some would call it lockluster for me its very bittersweet and effective. I think the music also adds to that as well.

  • @antijavi I thought it was the ghost of Jimmy Lee, don't know what happens with two player. Bit of a weird ending, no explanation

  • Wow...

  • so satisfying to see that A...... with the machinegun from the first game get his A.. kicked roylely! sorry for that but i played ( 2hrs of frustration fighting him in first game) eventuly beat the first game and he was just toooo dame anoying 1 hit from a bullet and u die and gotta start over AND it's a frigen machinegun it shoots like 5-10 shots at a time! ...worst boss fight i wish i couldn't remember Xb

  • My brother and I got so good. We would be able to beat Double Dragon 1 and 2 with one quarter per game . I miss the old school arcade. Those were the days.

  • I used to hate those damn fake green ninjas

  • good video !!! i'm having slow dows with this game when there are too much guys on the screen. i'm a mame's heavy user and i have a quad core. i don't know what to do, if i uncheck the throtle it goes too fast. anyone could help me? i have a lot of mame videos too check it if you wanna. nice video

  • @felipebrasil5 The original arcade games suffered from slowdown. The slowdown is just mame being accurate. The games were the Crysis of its day. Too big of a game running on arcade hardware that could not handle it.

  • i love all those red niggers that burst through the walls

  • Fucking fina!

    :@

  • The NES has a better ending.

  • @Hossflex The NES has a faker ending.

  • Whoever was playing this game was tearing it up

  • Willy: The biggest cunt in video game history. Way to whale on him Billy Lee!

  • Double Dragon 2 the arcade version was sure great back in the day. The endings to video games of this era sucked though haha.

  • that red nigger that busts through the wall looks sexy!

  • @briefcasemanx you lookin for somebody to hate on you huh?

  • Get the ROMs at ROM-N-NOODLES(.)COM (not a real site)

  • This version of D.D. 2 is simply awesome, and I have the arcade machine to it, which I use as my Jamma cabinet. Even though this game was pretty much an enhanced remake of the first D.D. for the arcade, it's still great, with it having better gameplay, and enemies, and all. Only Double Dragon Advance, and the awesome D.D. 2 on the Turbo Duo beat this game, when it comes to Double Dragon, in my opinion.

  • where can i download this game ?

  • @smithmikeal have you ever triyed the advance version???

  • wtf. she is SO UGLY! i wouldn't rescue her.

  • they did have a part 2? no shit!

  • What's up with these groups of miniboss characters? They're just lumbering around like idiots, like they're on dumb mode..

  • i love the good endings and marian is alive

  • You punched those 2 boss guys in their nads like 50 times... Very entertaining!

  • nice ending,....lol

  • @jeabl marion is ugly

  • Sadly Technos is gone. And developers don't believe in beat-em-ups anymore.... *sigh*

  • I know. It's sad really. Today, developers are only interested in shooters and whatnot.

  • The characters in this game resemble the ones in Battletoads & Double Dragon for NES

  • I remember being so angry how the NES versions of double dragon were knock offs .

They were still good in thier own right , but DD2 NES was the best only because by then nes could have a bit better memory in the cartriges or something . But still DD 3 buttons , nes 2 another reason they dont hold a candle to arcade .

  • @diagoCRiME77

Well arcade is def much better, except the NES ending was better imo.

  • wow, the arcade version looks and sounds better than the nes version

  • This game was pretty hard when I first played it in at the Arcades. I must have put in $5 worth before beating it. The cheap elbow didn't work for shit anymore. The enemies ducked during the spin kick and kick your ass after you landed, so that was pretty useless too sometimes. I'm a big Double Dragon fan and still loved it. At least it was better than part 3.

  • To masterasia11:

Of course, anything is better than DD3 for arcade. That was a really and sad disappointment: the last DD as beat´m up and Technos gave us such crappy game!? And yeah, the elbow now doesn´t work, the AI of the enemies was improved remarkably (some enemies duck when you do the elbow and then counterattack).

  • 1:02 superb roundhouse kick

  • jesus christ, you smacked the last boss around like he was your little bitch

  • @Guld Hence the subtitle of the game: The Revenge.

This type of retribution, in comparison to how hard the rest of the game is, shouldn't be difficult.

  • Great game....actually both first DDs are better on the NES than on the genesis (trust me)....can someone tell me how to play via emulator on PC???Thanks!!

  • u need

    1 emulator from emulatorzone

    SOme roms

    controller configuration

    well icant explain easily here

  • Download MAME Plus. Get the roms at r o m n a t i o n ( DOT ) n e t .. Mame Plus is the best version that I have ever found. If you need help setting it up. Youtube ( Call for help tech TV MAME setup )

  • Thanks!!will do!

  • Double Dragon 2! The arcade version!

Lol at the green martial arts guys. They do ALL that crap only to get tricked into flying off the edge.

I remember those big Arnold looking guys with the black glasses that make that sneeze noise. "AHOO!" You gotta watch those guys. They try to get you with the side hunky back hand and the big kicks. At 5:10 that boss gets a nice surprise. If this was the arcade you could imagine that was someone that spent many quarters and was not about to lose.

  • The only thing I like about this shit is the arcade version shadow clone boss music. Somebody PLEASE upload that one! Because the NES version of that music was uploaded. That music's awesome too!

  • 0:24...he pwn'ed himself. ;)

  • Same as the 1st DD..No creativity at all....

  • Well, I'm sure they could do a lot better nowadays if they ever attempted to remake this game. But then, remakes tend to fall short to our expectations.

  • esse cara joga pra carai !!! no flipe so na cotovelada nao vai nao....

  • wow a picture of ur dead girlfriend for ur ending...

  • This game did not outright suck. It was good, aside from the fact that they pretty much ripped the stages from the first game. But yes, the NES version is better.

Shame. This had so much potential.

  • at 2:46, who the hell are those guys? look like weirdos that came out of the movie the matrix into double dragon 2. usually i vote for arcade games over console but yeah, the NES version is more fun to play, but the graphics suck on the NES

  • yeh.. arcade ending sucks.. but I like the sprites better than the NES. However NES was WAAY more fun with the hyper knee and fuller story to boot

  • Comment removed

  • nes double dragon 2 ist viel besser !!! arcade double dragon nicht so gut.

  • Wow, NES kills this shit.

  • As someone who owns the first arcade game (restored it myself) and has been obsessed over it since it came out in '87... this game is the biggest piece of shit, ever. It's such a blatant rip off of the first it's not even funny. And the ending is fucking horrible!! It's like they purposefully mocked the first one and said "Yeah, but we're gonna make an assload of money off it anyway, so fuck you" right to your face at the end. Come on. You know they made bank to make the second one badass.

  • Geez, the nes version was 5 times better and 5 times harder. Usually somewhat the other way around... Oh and the ending was just Billy/Jimmy reminiscing one last time over their dead gang-bait girltoy.

  • Oh god haha.

That guy got the shit waylay-ed out of him at 5:10

  • Very crazy,very good game!!!!

  • Wait a minute... the pro wrestler with the only gun in the world shot her titties off at the beginning then at the end Billy & Jimmy are eyeballing her as if they are plotting a gangbang. I'm lost, I don't get it.

  • I think it was just a photograph taken of her before she was killed. I think the Lee brothers were looking down at it to remember her or something.

  • got to love the old arcade games. 5 dollars in, 30 minutes later. "Thanks for playing, WINNERS DON'T USE DRUGS, the end". It felt so satisfying that you beat it, but such a waste. LOL

  • @shaolinlueb hahahaa that and ya gotta LOVE the old ai that could be tricked into jumping off a cliff without ever haveing to lay a finger on them ROFL ahhh i love it!!

  • @shaolinlueb Those fucking goddamn Holy Ghost Mr. Cool's @ 8:05, goddammit!

  • 30 minutes of playtime just for that silly ending, the game is pretty cool anyway...

I just don't understand something in the NES version Marion was resurrected wasn't she? but in the arcade version Marion was killed and that was it right? you just avenge her

  • The NES version was for kids.

  • @carlosaround hmmmm i never played the arcade 1 so i don't know how that turns out but your right about her comeing back to life in the nes ver also seems to be major level diffrences between the two... myself i kinda perfer the nes 1 wich i still play to this day and never really get boad of it!!! X)
