Besides, the very basic reality is that there is a lot of fuzzy writing in the bill which requires interpretation. Not to mention having time constraints if it is an urgent issue. We can harbor resentment for the way our legislators voted on the war & use it as a litmus test for who is or isn't competant to lead. For me, that factors in, but where Hillary is concerned, I definately give her the benefit of the doubt - she is an extremely intelligent woman, very versed in the facts & cares IMHO
Your point is that even a child would have known to read the entire bill & then make a decision based on the content of the bill. But, unfortunately, your expectation that every legislator is going to read an entire bill, study the content and then act accordingly is beyond their time limitations, and sometimes their intellectual ability. I would tell your daughter that sometimes legislators have to rely on their staff to "brief them" because their isn't enough time to possibly read every bill.
I hope you will always have intelligent conversations with your daughter - 50 yrs ago, little girls would never have been included in any serious conversation! She seems like a very articulate young lady - I wish our entire new generation of children were as valued & included as your daughter is! Thanks for that! Now, about Hillary - she had so many many facts & situations to take into consideration you aren't privy to. It isn't just a matter of reading an entire bill - it's more complicated.

Yeah.I agree. She is a very smart kid. she is very muture for her age and she looks about 10 1/2. she's pretty smart for that age in politics.
