  • that is cute! ;)

  • Natsume and Nintendo's lawyers would like to have a word with you...

  • lmao i love it

  • This game was super cute! It took me back into memory lane. ( Nintendo days...)

  • make it killing zombies in a shopping mall, it'll be 100% better =D

  • how did you make this game? what was the game engine?

  • @A88mph There was no game engine, I programmed it from scratch with C++ and the Allegro game programming library.

  • LOL I think I'm going to pass on playing this one. But it looks pretty neat!

  • very nice.

    So shopping have to be.

  • You would have got rich if this was out around the nes, or gameboy era, then you could have ported it. anyway I hope to get as good as you someday. ^_^ Have a nice day and keep it up!!!

  • DrR. Mario music!

  • where did you get the background???

  • All the art I drew myself.

  • now i feel even more homo for actually enjoying it lol but nice game!! lol

  • lol

    thanks. XD

  • i feel slightly homo-sexual for wanting to play this... but i am currently waiting for downloads... soo... i think im going to play it anyways lol

  • Haha.

It's a bit of a mess. Yet another thing I want to get around to polishing up when i have time. x_x

  • Haha, awesome.

  • so cute i wanna play!!

  • The game's available for free off my website. Link is in the description.

I will update it eventually to be easier to play.

    Thanks for checking it out!

  • thanks for the info!! haha. i think this will help

  • Very cute game indeed, and cheers to a female programmer, here's to equality in the CS industry.

Looks like you had the same trouble recording an allegro session as I did. Have you noticed that the library tends to devour CPU? Probably the windowing libraries it uses. SDL is only slightly better :P

Anyway, very cool. My girlfriend wanted it XD

  • Hopefully things will record better once I'm using OpenGL more. Choices for recording software will also open up then.

    One silly thing I noticed with this game is that young Natalie's compy keyboard didn't allow many simultaneous keypresses like mine does, so she'd end up fighting with the other girl playing since it'd make her stop moving whenever the other girl did. Oops. o_O;

    /random observation

  • Yeah cheap keyboards have that. I think you should program a key configuration for that in order to support the cheaper keyboards.

I myself am currently writing a wrapper which supports both the open libraries like OpenGL and OpenAL and DirectX 9.

But your game looks nice I must say. Great job. Most games are meant for older people so I can understand why you make games for your cousin.

  • hahaha awesome

  • very nice , very good soundtrack , I noticed that outside the stores it's Harvest Moon-Main Theme , inside clothes store is DR.Mario - Fever , and i believe hair shop was Harvest Moon - Festival ? ... anyway Well Done ^^

  • when the two characters go into the makeup store, is that song from Mario Kart 64?

  • Haha nice, you should extend it! :D

  • Cute game. Are two people playing the game at the same time? Or is one of the girls controlled by the game, itself?

  • There's no AI in the game, I programmed it to have one or two players. (In the video they're both me playing so it might seem odd)

  • hecka cool! make it bigger though so you could see the differences in the people and get a selection screen thingy...if you can?????? lol, i dont know how making games go or if what i just said is possible for that thing... ^_^ nice job though

  • Yeah, if I end up making a second one I'll have a better system for trying on stuff.

  • oooh cool, i have one of those but its sooo confusing! anyways good luck ^_^

  • Why bother using the allegro library? When there's sdl, opengl, directx

  • I'm learning OpenGL with SDL, Allegro was just the first thing suggested to me.

I'm sorry if it's not good enough for you.

  • Wow.. When did I say it was bad? I just said why do you bother using allegro.. take it easy

  • Why should they take it easy? If you google your name all that comes up is posts from various forums where you are banned, hated and just clearly act like an asshole troll. Good job though, if your idea of cool is being hated by everyone, congratulations you've done it! Now go become an hero.

  • hahaha.. I must say that I'm flatterd. I go by 3 maybe 4 aliases. I've been banned from some forum yes but that's just because I sql injected it.

  • congratulations you can do an SQL injection! Welcome to the world of newbie script kiddiez...

If thats even true then i owe you an apology, you're not a troll, just an unloved asshole.

  • interesting, that was the mario cart song

  • yup. I don't have my own music composer so I use music from other games. :P

  • so do I, but just be careful with copyright laws

  • Aye. Worst comes to worst I can find someone or make something super simple (my latest version of Quix Attax 2 has custom music by me, but I don't have a video of it up).

  • "ALL MADE WITH C++???????? EVERYTHING? OMG you are great!!"

Don't underestimate C++ Havok Physics engine was written with C++. And for those who don't know, Havok is used in Assassin's Creed, Saint's Row, SSBB, and many other games. C++ is very capable of doing great things.

  • I don't think they were being sarcastic, since they said that they were learning C++, too.

I do agree that C++ still seems like the top choice for games (especially commercial ones), as well as many other things~

  • While C++ is the top choice for commercial games, if Microsoft gets their way, C# will quickly become a contender. However, I as well, prefer C++.

  • I think I would still stick with C++ and OpenGL/Allegro/SDL.

Portability is important to me right now. :3

  • ALL MADE WITH C++???????? EVERYTHING? OMG you are great!!

  • Yeah, with C++ and the Allegro game programming library. o.o

  • im starting to study C++ and i never tough i could do that :p

i downloaded the game with the sticks haha so funny =) it says i have no life :(

  • Lol. It was a joke game because a friend of mine suggested that I make a game where you pick sticks. The game is a favorite among my friends. XD

But yeah, maybe you've heard of DirectX or OpenGL? Those are commonly-used libraries used to put graphics, sound, and maybe online-play ability in games (and most games are made in C++). :D

  • yes i have =p

ill research a little and maybe someday ill be as great as you lol haha gratz

  • :D whow :D is thhat programmed with c++?

  • Yeah, C++ and the Allegro game programming library. :3

  • HAHA. That looks awesome. The Dr. Mario theme in the clothes store! The music is jammin'.

  • THAT RPG-MAKER MUSIC IS SO ANNOYING, ARGH!

The Mario Kart music is okay, though.
