"Forever Plaid" groups of the 50's Aces, Lads, Lettermen later, all sang with the Song being the center of performance. Later groups and individuals became bigger then the musicial word and that's why so much of the"modern" is so vapid and meaningless.
I just saw the Four Aces and the Four Lads in concert today with my dad! Such a great show. This was always one of my favorite songs growing up, such a treat to hear it live!
As good as the Beatles, yet their singing careers have not brought them fame and fortune. Many great singers and bands fall into oblivion. In the entertainment world, the most important factor is luck, luck, and luck.
@oilcraze I thought a lot of groups in the 50's had better voices than the Beatles. Of course, I was set in my ways by the time The Beatles came along.
I was only 7 years old when this song came out ... but I remember it well. We listened to the radio all the time before we had a TV. These are classics!
i love this CLASSIC MUSIC and so with the Movie with the same title it was a very a good movie, it sad to say that they dont make this kind of movie anymore, I missed the good old days, if we could go back on that time I've be happy to be their, thanks for uploading this videos.
I remember watching the movie Three Coins In The Fountain in the Orpheum theatre in Vancouver BC. What a wonderful day that was being with my sister, and not too old that we could still enjoy
our candied smarties and chocolate covered raisins as we sat and enjoyed the show
@mandy26lez Oh come on, guys! DeLorean!? Ferrari!? It's the legendary Lamborghini Countach... probably the most memorable rich-guy sports car of the late 70's and mid 80's! Not exactly a suitable backdrop to the Four Aces... but...
I only knew you Al for a few hours when I was on Showcase taped in North Wildwood. You were so kind and easy to get to know. We will all miss all that you did helping children make it into the big time. You were a Ted Mack Amateur Hour, or Arthur Godfrey for children. RIP
I just returned from my very rushed tour through Rome (we were on a ship and had time constraints). So disappointed that I didn't get a chance to see the Fontana di Trevi and toss in my coins. I remember this song from my childhood and always loved it. I will return to Rome someday and I will have an opportunity to do the things we didn't have time to do last week. Thanks for the beautiful music.
This was the "hit recording" of all versions of the song released in 1954; the song, from the motion picture of the same name (written for the film, literally at the last minute, by Sammy Cahn & Jule Styne), also won an Academy Award as "Best Song of 1954".
Of course i like it. But i preffer Sinatra´s version. Althougt thank you por this version.

For 5 wks in the summer of '54, it was #2 behind what would become the biggest selling record of 1954: "Little Things Mean a Lot" by Kitty Kallen.
Frank Sinatra had a version that went up to #7.

Nothing like the oldies to get me all choked up!!
YES, indeed I miss the kind of songs that were songs anyone could sing to because you could understand what the singers were saying!!
I'm soo glad to have known that time...though it was short for me being a late, late Baby Boomer!! :)
