  • ...This is not the original Broadway Cast! I'm so disappointed

  • Thumbs up if you love the SYNTH @ the beginning of the song!

  • Couple more weeks until my schools art department of Les Mis! cant wait!

  • I love how the comments are filled with racism and other crap like that. Let the trolls be frikin trolls and shut up.

  • 1) How can one be racist against Americans? As far as I know, American isn't a race.

    2) You could say that this is crap compared to the print version (which I am not, js).

    3) STOP FEEDING THE TROLLS!

  • @IDontWannaBeReminded I think that Americans are a race. From what I have heard, they are a "genetically superior breed that comprise of substrates of generations old of valor, competitiveness, ambition and prowess through centuries of artificial selection. Americans are not just a nationality - they are the vanguard of human evolution and are recently only categorized as a race." (Ambi et al., 2008).

  • I dont know...I must not get this shit,it sounds like shit to me...yes I'm a musician and have been since 89".

  • That was was bleeding awful bloody amercians they can never do it properly . Very poor singing voices . No Passion or emotion in the singing . I am not suprised this cast was no booed off stage this version is an inslut to the Great Les Miserables .

  • @tobysblogs Lolwhut? You're what, 12? And you're suddenly an expert on acting, or theatrical singing? Sure is fail troll in here.

  • @KaiGoesLol Excuse me I am 21 and I love this musical to bits I listen to most the songs everyday and this version is total shit compared to others . The Americans can not to Les Miserables properly , I have seen Les Misserables in the Westend and the Singing performances were 100% better . How can you compare this shit to the Brilliant voice of Ramin Karimloo or Afie Boe , This is totally shit and if you think its good your tone deaf .

  • @tobysblogs And I am sure the french think that the british version is shit, seeing as a frenchman wrote it, and seeing how ironic it is that the characters are supposed to french, but they have british accents. Just saying. who cares if the singing isnt as good? I think that the british version of wicked it terrible.

  • @tobysblogs If you "loved" this musical, then you wouldn't care who sang it.

You just have a bad case of racism. Door's over there, and may want to learn English on your way out.

  • @tobysblogs okay, first of all, you're a racist, and second, you have severely hurt my feelings, as all my family are american singers.

  • @TheAngelofmusic12345 I am not racist as americans are not a race . Maybe they should listen to how the brits do it and then copy that rather than have this pathetic weak performance . Wheres the emotion and wonder singing . I am sorry I have watched a few performances of Les Miserables online with americans doing it and they should like strangled cats . From What I have seen the Americans can't do it properly .

  • I love you Javert! Nothing sexual but you are awesome!

Why are french ministers of justice so maniacal?

  • @cookietheb5 Nothing sexual? I guess I've been enjoying him incorrectly...

  • 2 people stole bread, and had to work for 20 years :)

  • *chills* this song makes me jump. AMAZING!!

  • Cant wait to get to work for the Production of Les Miserables! wooo

  • oh my god it's been like 5 years since i last listened to les mis!! and somehow i just happened to stumble across this... i can't believe i forgot about all this great stuff!!!

  • I think someone missed the like button....

  • What an overture.....!

  • the best opening of any production of this sort

  • He says I am Javert to prove to Jean Valjean that he does not care what is name is. To hi he will always be prisoner 24601

  • Is it sad I am replaying this song over and over again to just hear him say, "I'm Javert!!" ?

  • @CartoonBabe96 In no way.

  • When I was real little, my father would play this album in his Camry back in the days of cassettes. This song and "Castle on a Cloud" to this day remain my favorites.

  • @Smilez2211 And yes, I'm 15 and know what a cassette is :P

  • 1 DISLIKE!!!! :0

  • "Do not forget my name! Do not forget me!"

"Tell me your name one more time before I forget."

    *scowl

    *snicker

  • 1 person is obviously Javert.

  • OMG I went to c this live and it waz amazing....I love this play and this song!!(:

  • Does Valjean's "crime" of stealing bread count as a crime if he wanted to feed his sister's family?

  • @MultiBelle22 Yep. He stole.

    *shrug*

  • @LadyAlzers But it was with good intentions! I mean, you're starving and you've got a kid to feed - what do you do? Just let them starve? No; you get food any way you can, even if it does mean stealing!

  • @MultiBelle22 Yes, I know that.

But in the eyes of the law, it didn't matter if he had good intentions. He still stole something, and Javert had to punish him for it.

  • how can someone dislike this?

  • That one dislike must be because of the picture, surely they aren't disliking the music...

  • i love doctor who

  • @tardisanddoctorwho That is really random everyone else is talking about Javert but then you go and say that.

  • @tardisanddoctorwho Me Too! Hurrah!

  • I cannot wait for the movie, I wonder what Russell Crowe's Javert will be like?

  • Many thanks for taking the time to put together this compilation! Awsome effort!

  • The sun is strong, it's hot as hell below.

    Look down, look down.

    There's 3 hours to go.

  • love it.... i went to see it was amazing...

  • Best overture and start of show EVER. EVER!!!! Love this Javert. LOVE.

  • One thing that Terrence brought to this scene that I appreciated and so many Javerts never did is the sheer fury. Most deliver this calmly or in stern manner. Mann's crazy fury here makes his obsessive tracking of Valjean throughout the play seem even more believable and has an urgency right off the bat rather than after Valjean's courthouse confession, which is the point which traditionally begins to show Javert's growing resolve to catch the petty theif. And the orchestration here is missed =(

  • I wonder how Javert introduced himself as a kid...

Seriously, though. Awesome soundtrack is... awesome.

  • awww i can still remember the first time i heard this.i was like 12! i still LOL pretty hard at the way javert says "NO" to valjean. XD anyway this is the most epic overture ever. les mis freak for life.

  • @shadowpause90

Yes, it's awesome! Like, the way Javert says "NO!!" in this version, he seems so...exasperated! Like, "What?? NO!! You're a convict! Where on Earth did you get THAT idea? ...Free....ha!"

Sorry, I didn't notice it until you mentioned it, and now it's absolutely killing me. I love it! xD

    ~Rayne

  • YES THIS IS AWESOME

  • Can't stop listening to this shit.

  • Yea! I am so glad someone posted the original broadway cast version. This was the first version I remember listening to many years ago. Love this stuff!

  • 3:20 *dies of fangirlyness* BEST. 'I AM JAVERT'. EVER.

  • @EriksWanderingChild explain for non english... What is fangirlyness?

  • @MrVvilku A 'fangirl' is a girl who is very enthusiastic about something. Adding a -ness to the end is like...saying "The needy person is very obvious with his /neediness/". So, fangirl + ness = fangirlyness.

  • @EriksWanderingChild thank You :) Now it's clear :)
