To go to Ranger School, you must first enlist/be commissioned into the U.S. Army Infantry. Next, you must go to Airborne School in Fort Benning, Georgia. To be eligible for Ranger School, it is almost essential to be a non-commissioned officer or officer. Once through Ranger School, you must go through the Ranger Indoctrination Program (RIP) and be selected to be in the 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger Regiment).
@jackrulez12 You can be in the Marine Corps and wear the "Ranger Tab" symbolizing your completion of Ranger School, but you cannot be in the 75th Infantry Regiment (the Ranger Regiment...an Army unit) while being dually enlisted or commissioned in the USMC. However, it is very, very hard for a Marine to be selected for Ranger School. Most soldiers in Ranger School are recently commissioned ROTC or West Point graduates in the Infantry branch, or veteran noncoms. :D
@TheDeltaDawg wrong, it is not RIP anymore it is RASP (Ranger Assessment and Selection Program) you go to that directly after Airborne, if you make it through then you go to a Ranger unit and wait until higher ups say you should go to Ranger School, if you are in the top 10% of your RASP class you go right to Ranger school though.

@21ROYIK21 SEALs are great at swimming and other water-borne activities. Most of the time, if they fire a shot, something went wrong. Rangers are completely unmatched in ground combat, if they don't fire a shot, something went wrong. I was a Ranger with 1/75 and have trained with SEALs.

Rangers work in 50ish man teams while seals work in small teams ranging from 4 to 12 men. they both have different duties and they both are very good at what they do. some say Ranger training is harder than seal training, maybe you should look into them and do some research before you start spewing nonsense. good luck becoming a SEAL, prepare to be sent packing, crying for momma.

They each have diffrent training and focus on diffrent kinds of missions. seals are silent and take out important strat targets or capture personel. ranger is more of a hybrid. a reg SpecOP team had like 4-12 units while ranger are a Specops unit as well but are in between a small unit and a platoon. seals spec in under water demolition and rangers in close quarters combat and house clearing. they both do alot more but rangers

@21ROYIK21 I'm going into the Rangers, then the SEALs, trust me, don't go straight for the SEALs. I'm going to try and get reccomended for something like the C.I.A SAD.

Just Enter West Point(The best bacholor degree + it's military), then go to Army Ranger(Beginer of Special Operations but you don't need to serve here just learn training to improve your skills), then to Green Berets(also you have to serve minimum 3 years of service after training) then to delta(you have to remain at Delta minumum 2.5 years after training) and then you can go to CIA SAD. You don't need to go CIA SAD throw the Delta but also after SF.
@DONTdoSMACK It'll take you 6 years of Special Operations service + training 1.5 years of SF training + 0.5 years of DELTA training. approximetely 8 years of SPEC OPS training but if you finish West Point then you'll have to serve additional 5 years in Army because West Point requires to remain minumum 5 years in Active Duty service but if you finish civilian university you can enlist army + if you learn additional language and foreign culture of course you also have to have travel experience.
@DONTdoSMACK I would also be CIA SAD's SPecialized Skills Officer. Because you do psychological ,political and cyberwarfare ops to other countries. It's really good experience for yourself because especially you have a business you can learn special skills and you can use them in your business too. Trust me it's not easy but not as well as hell to enter CIA SAD. Just you get good education, then enlist army then ranger regiment, US army spec force, Delta or directly go after SF service.

After three months of boot camp, and we learned at MCRD was how to shoot an M16, MCMAP, and how to drill. In less time, army recruits are trained to fire every weapon in the US inventory. Gredades, mortors, 203s. But if you took a marine out of SOI, things would be different.

Obviously you know nothing about the military. Women can be Marines, and they can be in the Army. The reason why women can't be rangers is because MEN won't let them. There are many women who have passed the ranger course during "experiments".

@21ROYIK21 SEALs are great at swimming and other water-borne activities. Most of the time, if they fire a shot, something went wrong. Rangers are completely unmatched in ground combat, if they don't fire a shot, something went wrong. I was a Ranger with 1/75 and have trained with SEALs.

Rangers work in 50ish man teams while seals work in small teams ranging from 4 to 12 men. they both have different duties and they both are very good at what they do. some say Ranger training is harder than seal training, maybe you should look into them and do some research before you start spewing nonsense. good luck becoming a SEAL, prepare to be sent packing, crying for momma.

They each have diffrent training and focus on diffrent kinds of missions. seals are silent and take out important strat targets or capture personel. ranger is more of a hybrid. a reg SpecOP team had like 4-12 units while ranger are a Specops unit as well but are in between a small unit and a platoon. seals spec in under water demolition and rangers in close quarters combat and house clearing. they both do alot more but rangers

so before you start running your mouth and look around you.out of maybe a 1000 only about 350 will go in to the service.out that 350, around 280 will graduate basic. from the 280,youll be lucky if 100 will go into the combat arms. from the hundred only about 50 will try for more advanced training.of the 50 about only 5 will make it to the level you think you just ease into.. good luck

Just Enter West Point(The best bacholor degree + it's military), then go to Army Ranger(Beginer of Special Operations but you don't need to serve here just learn training to improve your skills), then to Green Berets(also you have to serve minimum 3 years of service after training) then to delta(you have to remain at Delta minumum 2.5 years after training) and then you can go to CIA SAD. You don't need to go CIA SAD throw the Delta but also after SF.

@DONTdoSMACK It'll take you 6 years of Special Operations service + training 1.5 years of SF training + 0.5 years of DELTA training. approximetely 8 years of SPEC OPS training but if you finish West Point then you'll have to serve additional 5 years in Army because West Point requires to remain minumum 5 years in Active Duty service but if you finish civilian university you can enlist army + if you learn additional language and foreign culture of course you also have to have travel experience.

It's really good experience for yourself because especially you have a business you can learn special skills and you can use them in your business too. Trust me it's not easy but not as well as hell to enter CIA SAD. Just you get good education, then enlist army then ranger regiment, US army spec force, Delta or directly go after SF service.

To say any branch is better than the others is a disrespect to the other services, they all have their specialties. Also more often than not joint special operations are in first which can consist of any of the branches. Army doesnt try to take the credit if anything the marines get all the hype like in Fallujah and some other big name "marine" controlled operations when in fact they were busted out by the army.And they are not the only branch to guard the president. please dont post bullshit.

@21ROYIK21 Hi dude. I'm a US Marine and let me tell you. If you took a marine and a soldier right out of boot, the soldier would destroy the marine. After three months of boot camp, and we learned at MCRD was how to shoot an M16, MCMAP, and how to drill. In less time, army recruits are trained to fire every weapon in the US inventory. Gredades, mortors, 203s. But if you took a marine out of SOI, things would be different.

When the marines want to see if they are hardcore in reality, they come to OUR RANGER school. And most of them fail. The US ARMY has the only Special Forces in the entire military. and Marines guard the embassies. Army barely did anything in Fallujah, Marines raiding the houses for days, then they had to hold the city without firing, then it was back on again. While the 82nd airborne was outside the city, making sure no one gets out. trust me i know this

@21ROYIK21 but may i point out that the us army "Rangers" are elite soldiers in the army and Marines are regulars in the Navy, The SEALs are the Navys elites so i think it would be fairer to compare SEALs and Rangers

Wow Great job disgracing every soldier that died in Fallujah ive talked to soldiers that were there and everyone has told me the marines barley did SHIT!!! it was all Army it took 3 days for the USMC to even get passed the FUCKING gate to the city next time you post a comment actually know what your talking about!

@ratraty truely every branch are as equally important as the other they are like an engine if one part or in this case branch falls so do the other each fight in their own way. they each fight with diffrent eqipment and vehicles, or arrive on the battle field thts is the only diffrence really and really gives a fuck about fallujah its over with the rangers do their part to fuck tard and seals aren't all that great.

@NYfan4ever special forces are first Rangers second marines thirdd.the president uses aircraft carriers rto go pplaces and guess who the infantry on an aircraft carrier for the navy is.the Marines.if the Army had aircraft carriers then soldiers would guard embassies and take orders from the preside3nt.now theres ur facts
