  • Very Cool! and Scary!

  • that wood make an awsome tattoo gun

  • ow... I had headphones in... :P

  • What is going on here? Is the wind from the tube spinning that turbine like rl fast, or is it liquid comming from that tube?

  • Now hook some gears up to it, ... Very Nice Steam Turbine, ...

  • Holy cow, what kinda RPMs are we talking about here? *sounds* like about 100k!

  • It this a bladeless type design?

  • hahaha i can see myself playin with this thing in my room, and pissen off my little sister at the same time with the noise >) i love little steam engines

  • wow i thought that thing was going to take for a moment and start flying away, so tell me! were'd you get it? please i want to get one of these and a small boiler and a piston driving a small wheel.

  • is this a toy? it's impressive but i was just wondering is there an application for it or is it just something cool? because.. it is cool.. lol

  • Impressive, i hope to get mine up to that sort of speed once i get a decent compressor as the whine is really loud. Great video and the turbine is a fine piece of engineering.

  • ok thanks

  • ball bearings ???

  • Yes, it has two ball bearing races set into the aluminum flats it is riding in. These must be oiled frequently with light weight oil as the steam washes it out fast.

  • How can i get hold of one please? Can you point me in the right direction with a web site or some thing?

  • Look for seller "Wolfgang Engineering" on eBay

  • is it safe to insert the finger in it? i want to

  • Yes, you could probably stick your finger in it as there are no parts that would injure you. My concern would be possible damage to the turbine vs. the finger! Best to NOT do such a thing.

  • @Yottskry hahaha

  • How many RPM?

  • Maker claims 35,000 rpms at 35 PSI...I was running it at 30 PSI in video...so maybe 30,000 rpms? Impossible to measure in my mind, but it's going fast whatever it is!

  • Excellent!

What is the size of wheel?

  • The wheel itself is 2.5 inches in diameter.

  • If you have a mint to sell this one, I would like to buy it.

  • Look on eBay, under "The "Noise Maker". High Speed Steam Turbine Engine." The guy still has a few for sale at $119, looks pretty well made for that.

Have you measured the speed? Sounds like it was getting up close to 30k rpm on the video. Wolfgang rates them at 35k on 100 psi.

  • His description says 35,000 rpm at 35psi,...

Where do you get 100 psi from?

  • I'm not sure where or who mentioned 100 PSI except "plaguepuppy" above. I have only run mine up to about 30 PSI of steam pressure as that is the max I had available.

  • @Muskett333 an air compressor...

  • @miketheredneckable NOT running on an air compressor in this video...that is live steam and the steam is visible as is the wet spot around it.

  • is that like a Tesla turbine??

  • No, this is not a Tesla turbine....those are quite a bit more complicated in design.

  • that would be crazy if you hooked that up to an air compressor and shot 100psi at that!!!

  • Goodness - impressive! I wonder how much electricity that you could generate if you attached a permanent magnet motor to that thing.

    And why sell the boiler?

  • lol err mabe gear it down first??! he said that spins at 25000 rpm!!

  • Do you know the max rpm?

  • Machinist that makes it noted 25,000 rpms at 35 psi. It went up to 30 psi in my video. Not sure what the max would be, but I almost would want to be behind a shield if it went much faster!!!

  • wow, that thing screams! Are you using the same boiler as you were using in the homemade brass boiler video?

  • Yes, same shop built boiler was used in both videos...it's up for sale on ebay now 2/7/09
