  • fuck occupy. The internet is going to censured. Its the end of free speech nad revolutions. And no one cares. Its hopeless i simply cant believe this.

  • Double mic night

  • always having mic troubles haha

  • No mention of the big elephant in the room, as it is so seldom mentioned in the Occupy movement, and which is actually the whole key to the power the movement is trying to Occupy. Nothing will change in this system unless you deal with the big elephant--monetary policy. Monetary policy is ultimate power in this world. Learn what it is. Learn how it is enslaving you. Why is it Chomsky never talks about it?

  • @tryptala No one asks him.

  • @DemCatBo Somebody ask him, then.

  • chomskytards and occutards tarding in tardony. absolutely tardiful.

  • Noam Chomsky to me is the socrates of our time. He is so wise and loving yet a great dissedent.

  • great video you should put this video as an video respond on every popular channel like Bravo channel or where ever many views are like a Justin Bieber video or wherever young people are . Young people need to know about this they will need to fix what old generation has broken.

  • constantly inspired by this man!

can someone tell me or make a title for this? I only have 30 mins brake and there's loads of Chomsky i need to watch, thanks

  • How I miss Mr. Zinn...

Yes, "the dream of his life"--he would be so proud!

    And so helpful...

    -sigh-

    He's just wonderful.

Thank you, Mr. Chomsky and thanks too to copym3!,

    <3!

  • Noam needs a bigger bullhorn! Glad to be the 420th person to like this -_-

  • Thanks, Noam.

  • police sirens wailing...american economy flailing.

  • They could have taken their time on proper sound checks when they rigged the place. 2012 who would of thunk it?

  • Good luck occupy Boston

  • Right outside MIT not one goddamn moron engineer seems to have a clue about feedback loops.

  • @donpengin lol

  • can we get a discussion going between Kim Kardashian and Noam Chomsky

  • Please stay with us for a little while longer Mr Noam Chomsky, we are just waking up and we NEED your ideas.

  • I wish this man had political power over me.

  • @Ninjamohawk I don't wish to speak for Noam but I'm sure he'd agree with me when I say, I'm sure Noam doesn't want political power over you, he wishes you had political power over yourself.

  • @ 18:00 "The successful economy is based substantially on worker insecurity.

"If working people are insecure, they're not going to make demands, they're not going to try to get wages, they won't get benefits, we can kick them out if we don't like them - and that's good for the health of the economy - that's what's called a 'healthy economy'."

    Think about it.

  • We have to ALL try to be like Noam Chomsky.

    We all need his patience.

I'm working on it right now.

    Reading history.

    Soooo important.

It's hard to live under the stupidity of capitalism. So we should use any free time we have to understand how we got into this mess. Howard Zinn's 'Peoples History of the U.S.A. is a good start. An Easy read.

  • @themec Research Noel Ignatiev and Susan Sontag!

    /watch?v=kETA4kptVTw

  • The truth sayer by which all other truth sayers should be judged by.

    Tell the children.

  • Why so many sirens? I thought Noam was gonna get arrested for a moment there!

  • Audio sync = FAIL.

  • I love you Noam

  • Logical thinking. A trait yet fading away it seems.

  • I was watching this video and for some reason I recalled one of my Management papers in business school. An essay assignment we had asked us to discuss ethical dilemmas faces by corporations in the 3rd world.

Right from the beginning we were told that corporations that have shifted production to overseas countries may be exploiting workers but that is an ethical dilemma and the workers would otherwise be starving to death. We were simply told this "fact" with little room for critical analysis.

  • @toseeornot2see Was that the end of the discussion??

  • @1LaOriental Do you mean that in relation to the research assignment I mentioned?

Yeah, that was pretty much it. We basically were told that there was simply no other way for the companies to operate in the 3rd world. And at that time, I don't recall any student, including myself, arguing otherwise.

  • @toseeornot2see Yes, that is what I meant and I am not the least bit surprised.

We are so out of touch...

  • Gosh, he is getting so old. I hope he stays on Earth a lot longer.

  • 7:36 can you scootch over just a little bit. nice.

  • 'occupy'.

    'hidden hand'

    occult-'hidden'

    emergence=octurnality

    8th dimension- fate

    the Outside Chance

    'occupy' boston

    it's ALL ABOUT 8

the 8th december 2011 will be significant...

  • @natmanprime I bet you feel kind of silly for making such a statement. LOL

  • @Seedofwinter actually, no.

i was trying to remember where i made this comment, cos i wanted to say 'i told you so'.

so i genuinely thank you for that.

bbc news, 8th december: strongest storms nationwide, for 10 years.

    give it a look.

i went to All Souls Avenue, northwest london on the 11th hour of that day, to revisit the place wherre a mini hurricane took the side wall of a house off a several years back, I used to work there a matter of days before it happened.

    wanted to c...

  • @natmanprime seed of winter, i dont think your name is a coincidence either.

  • Thanks for posting this. I will cross post far and wide.

  • REWIND, LISTEN AGAIN AND POST EVERYWHERE!

  • When we use Federal Reserve Notes which for most of us is everyday were using a piece of social technology structured in its very conception to work against democracy. Most progressives or radicals give little attention to the fact that its largely money which organizes societies not well intentioned speeches or great ideas~ despite our hopes.Money is the operating system of modern industrial society. If we want to have a democratic society we'll need to create a democratic basis of exchange.

  • Noam Chomsky is a genius. he should be leader of the occupy movement. however, he is hard to follow, and i don't think the average person can understand him.

  • I love Chomsky's description of a real democratic primary (42:09). It is so simple and rational and, when compared with the ghastly reality of the big-money spectacles the public are confronted with, it makes one want to experience a real democratic primary of that sort NOW. The public should turn their back on the presidential election charades and keep occupying their own country until they are heard.

  • @fanniterrette

..."and keep occupying their own country until they are heard."...

Actually, the Occupy movements have already been heard. They already have slipped into the Mainstream Media and journals which are supported by mega-corporations. The real problem in hand is how to get the general public to not be distracted to what the media feeds them.

I mean, go to your Youtube homepage, what are the recommended videos? Bieber? Sports? There's a long way to go.

  • Such a warm welcome... and a worthy one... such a long and effective career!

  • Thankful to have him in the world and thankful that he has taken the time to support and educate the Occupy Movement. He has a knack for putting things in very clear perspective.

  • Noam always have broad and intelligent point of view on everything. He's right, Occupy movement maybe won't bring quick results, but it has started something big, and something that will grow up in time!

BIG RESPECT TO NOAM, WE ARE WITH YOU BROTHER ALL THE WAY! Thank you a lot for uploading this!

  • Truly a great man.

  • Noam Chomsky? Howard Zinn? And you call OTHER people idiots, you idiot?

  • @joiadbvjaw9384 Who are you? What do you know? Why are Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky idiots, may I inquire?

  • Noam Chomsky speaks to truth Howard Zinn would be very proud of this movement

  • I really appreciate this video and it being posted and very much appreciate the message to contemplate here but that being said I do think that Chomsky looks like a very intelligent walrus holding these two microphones in the manner he does here...

  • Thanks for posting this and thank you so much Noam. You're always so clear and helpful.

  • beautiful revolution thanks noam

  • Dude's older now folks, be gentle.

  • In Rio de Janeiro we are together, 99%, our hashtag is #OcupaRio

  • Wow. This is great seeing Noam at the Occupy movements.

  • Ben Bernanke lookalike at 4:12

  • Was that Ben Bernanke spying in at 4:10?

  • @nathanmarto that is exactly what I said.. my comment was first lol

  • can these idiot kids shut up and let him speak? no, not everyone can hear him. don't ask him to speak in a park if you want to be able to hear him perfectly. show a little fucking respect.

  • Noam Chomsky has laid the intellectual basis for this.

  • @Arkinight Absolutely. Chomsky's analyses of power structures and historical accounts from a citizen's perspective have been a huge part of the foundation for these movements (and others).

  • I like Noam Chomsky. He's just a class act! God give idealists like him a long life.

  • Better spent 50 minutes than turning on that talking box in the corner of my room.

  • omg its Noam Chomsky!

  • @takadi he's actually not a communist. i used to think that until i looked into him a bit more. his ideas are not strait forward.

  • @takadi He's an anarcho-syndicalist, not really directly equatable with communism even in Marxist, terms, and certainly not AT ALL equatable with Stalinist Russia, Maoist China, other oppressive, Statist forms of "communism" that were really just neo-feudalism, just like our current capitalistic structure which is "capitalistic". It's bullshit, it's all power, wealth, self-interest, social darwinistic bull. Anyone who told you America is the land of the free is your enemy, read a book : )

  • @wspsaves

    Stalinist Russia was actually pre-Capitalist.

  • They're trying to milk the cow without feeding it!

  • @ValleyGirlNetwork Explain what you mean...

  • How come noam believes the fairy tale our gov't is spewing about 9/11 . Somethings fishy there... he's too smart for that... doesnt make sense...

  • @bmw200000 trolling or just a major retard?

Conspiracy bullshit like this corrupts the left (or at least the naive, paranoid part of it).

Why isn't there something leaked on wikileaks about this (9/11 that is)?

OH WAIT, WIKILEAKS HASN'T LEAKED A THING ABOUT THIS AS OF NOW; something must be going on...

This better be some sarcastic joke where you make fun of conspiracy theorists who think the juice did 9/11 (because Chomsky is a juice), but I assume you are serious.

  • @bmw200000 9/11 is a gray area. Did the Bush administration have prior info about a likely terrorist attack of that nature and do nothing about it and twiddle their thumbs so they could imperially capitalize on the event for self interest. Yes. This is an objective fact. Did they put bombs in the buildings and actively conspire with muslim extemists to enact the attack themselves. Eh, sounds pretty speculative, anything's possible, and I've seen Alex Jones, etc. all that stuff,

  • @bmw200000 It's all pretty speculative. There's enough evil on the surface in the main financial centers and imperial governance that there's no need to speculate as to specifics of their evil macchinations. Don't be a paranoid schizophrenic ya know. I'm not saying the Truthers (the less egomaniacal ones) may not be onto something, I'm just saying the clandestine mechinisms in government won't allow us to know the truth for a long time to come. Same with aliens, just fight the power

  • yo chinbeard lady, can a nigga get a dual mic stand

  • ahaha YES now I can actually hear what he was saying... The traffic next to me would take chunks out of his sentences. Thanks so much for the upload!

  • ROFL @ 1:20 when taking up both mic's. i laughed :)

  • Outstanding:)

  • Grande Chomsky! Saludos desde Madrid a todos. Come on Boston! Come on World!

  • human microphone at 46:48 is cheesy as fuck

  • @megustaface cheesy as fuck :( sometimes people get off their arses and attend these things in person, so in the real world, people like to be heard and this is a way of carrying your voice..

disney's version of romance is cheesy as fuck, this is simply practical

  • Damn, were the cops purposefully turning on their sirens to be jerks?

  • Thought that guy yelling out "TURN IT UP - NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU" interrupting him was quite rude and annoying, but other than that, fantastic video, thanks for this.

  • @extremepietbh Maybe he couldnt hear him? Just a thought...

  • @extremepietbh - Hi, I guess you may be right, but what is the correct way to inform a speaker in OWS demonstration that he cannot be heard? I suspect most speakers really want to be heard by everyone. And I noticed Chomsky did not appear upset.

  • "The dream of his life" <3

  • Many thanks.
