  • in sunderland the mackerel season is in progress i caught 6 in around 5 mins but...due to heavy weather the sunderland pier is closed due to weather damage :/

  • in my harbour in iceland we can prolly get 100 kg of mackreal in 2 -3 hours.

  • ive caught lots of mackerel in cork harbour.

  • that looks like great fun!

  • Down on the south coast in England I caught 52 mackeral in a space of 3 hours :)

  • @CaptainClungee You don't get mackerel on the south coast of England. They take herrings from the North Sea, spray paint them and release them from places like Penzance and the Isle of Wight. Taste them and you'll see.

  • @Polyfooka Yes you do if you don't believe me go down to Seaford on the south coast near Brighton and fish at high tide of the beach and I can guarantee you will catch at least 5. Just use mackerel feathers and a beach caster rod.

  • @Polyfooka You do get mackerel on the south coast you mug.

  • @xLampy Next time you catch a "mackerel" give it a good rub with your thumb. When they can't find herring, they use big sprats.

  • i love fishing god it is like chocolate and marchmellows and by the way ur a good fishin man

  • i was fishing in holland this summer and i did it the same way on bbq and its amizing the meat is like butter

  • aught 15 off buncrana pier last night. There was literally hundreds of mackerel swimming just beneath the surface chasing all the sprats.

  • @hachano24 Ah, Buncrana. That's one place where not just the fishing, but also the craic is always mighty!

  • i cach more mackerel than him and im 10

  • @spartan111andre It's easier when you're ten: you can hide below the gunwhales.

  • @Polyfooka whats a gunwhales

  • @MarkieBhoy17 The spelling is actually "gunwales"!! The sides/side rails of a boat.

  • @spartan111andre yes but he can probably catch ones much bigger than you can so..

  • Hi .... the best place to fish 4 mackerel is off downpatrick head in north co mayo

  • whats a nice guy Alan is!

  • @davekelshall He never says a bad word about anybody and a smile is never far away.

  • nice video ,thanks

  • that looks disgusting man

  • thats a lot of work for a not very tasty looking burger man

  • i like this vid. they should try rice instead of bread.

  • A few swift hard smacks to the head with a priest kills them quickly

  • it's less cruel to break their necks fairhill if you know how to do it right. simply put your thumb inside their mouth to the roof of their mouth and your index across their forehead and lever their head back till it breaks. personally i carry a flip out stanley knife. and by just putting the blade to their temple and inserting it where you'd imagine their brain to be, they just die instantly. i'd never just leave a fish to die of suffocation. helpful???

  • I saw someone catching them on Whitby harbour. She pulled their heads off, that seemed to kill them.

  • the end wasnt very appetising at all lol

  • Does anyone know what music is playing through out this video please?

  • @AaronGreen a bit late to reply I know but its The Gymnopedies by Erik Satie, I think its called Trois Gymnopedies

  • what type off boat is this

  • he should f stuck his finger in the mouth and thumb at the back of the net to kill the mackerel instantly

  • i see when you put the mackerel into the bread you did not remove the lateral bones, that can be painful. (assuming that you did not remove bones off of the footage)

  • i like this guy thanx for uploadin hes way better than robson green

  • i was thinkin the exact same thing

  • stuff robson whatever you call him..send this guy globetrottin fishin, allan is top drawer for a good bit of entertainment

  • oh go hug a fucking tree why dont ya and have a little pixie campfire and sing kumbaya and worship the nature gods and such bullshit ...Its fucking fishing

  • what is that fish at 4.30

  • polluk

  • mackerel is indeed a fishing ground for in Ireland. But mackerel in Ireland has lost it's large fishing fish! Let the fish populate for the next 20 yrs or so... sardines, maybe???

  • I don't think the Lord had fish in mind when he came up with that piece of advice! But... I'm never one to shirk a challenge: prepare to remove your hat - just give me a minute to put in a bit of hyperventilation.

  • deal with it man, its life.

  • I think you should get off your high horse and look at the conservation measures we have because of anglers protecting watersystems and fish from poaching, I'd say anyone who holds a rod licence has done more to save fish than you ever have or will.

  • @Srexise Why did you watch the video so ?

  • wow those are really small

  • in newfoundland mackerel r way bigg than that evn when u cant find any u will always hook into 1

  • well this isn't newfoundland its ireland

  • Wow, you guys are great! Enjoyeed the show. The problem with fish is many are now contaminated with industrial wastes.

  • @pukaman2000 Bio-accumulation of things like mercury and PCBs is worse in fish that live longer; such as sharks and tuna. Mackerel mature around two years old, and only live about seven years anyway, so there isn't time for toxins to accumulate in their livers the way it does in longer-lived fish.

  • Come fishing in North America some time. Macks are used whole as bait from shore here, 28" is minimum size for stripped bass here.

  • Sometimes u get 60 mackerel sometimes none

  • so true!

  • best way 2 fish 4 mackerel is off the beach using spinners!! its 2 easy fishing 4 them in a boat.

  • the same happened to me.i went to the beach and i got bout 150 every cast

  • Hi good video we get loads of (smokies) out of whitby from june onwards regards Alain

  • Yeah MAckeral are lovely 2 eat

  • Fresh Mackerel is just about the tastiest fish that swims, it beats tuna by a mile. The trouble is it spoils quickly. It's good to see an angler preserve a modest catch rather than catch a mountain of fish and let them spoil so all they're fit for is bait.

  • just home from a days fishing at sea off the Bangor coast in Co Down, my god it was slow. things got so bad i made a 10 hook trace which only produced 3 mackerel in 3 hours. but hey, thats fishin for ya

  • how did u go mackerel fishing and catch like 7 in a day go to castletownshend near skiberin well i dont no how to spell it but in south west of ireland all u need is a line with about 6 hooks with 1 feather of any color but must be bright colors i caught 50 in 1hour

  • everybody has slow days.

  • come to australia and you'll catch a 100 in a day, 2 times bigger, and guess wat, we dont eat em, we use them for better quality fish, like kingys and tuna!

  • if you want to cath fairy big macreal use silver tinseal, only a few strands i fish near old harry's rock, dorset on my boat (with a life jacket)

  • hahahah. ur well gd at fishing. wink wink.

and catchin a makarl is nowt special.

  • fished like mad on feathers,,, caught nowt. i need a macky!!!

  • Great videos and I agree about using the light tackle. But you really have to start wearing life jackets or PFD (you also have to make people aware of the safety aspect). In a small boat like a dingy it does not make any sense not to. I can understand not wearing one on a charter boat but in a dingy it is a must.

  • Let the bastards drown Denis if they haven't the wit to wear life jackets.

  • @deniscoghlan I have a heart condition and live in an area where the water can be near freezing even in early summer. If I fell in, I'd die before anyone could get me out PFD or no PFD, so there's no point me wearing one.

  • love them also! yea put more on!

  • Love these programs ,, please put some more on ;o)
