not bad considering its is first time. i bet, if he continued playing the past few years he would be undoubtedly better. Honestly how can someone tell someone that golf isnt for them after just ONE swing? Ridiculous
How/why in the world would people rag on the Hawk? He was no Mr. Sunshine, but we saw him mellow with age here in Ft. Worth ~ he was a mechanic of the golf swing, spent his life mastering the slot, supination, blah blah blah - he was the Yin to Nelson's Yang, they dominated the game & should be respected as the pros they were.
Ben Hogan was overrated?arrogant, unpleasant?bad attitude?Average swing?
Don't you think this applies to you and never The Hawk?
He won 9 majors! he thrwe himself across his wife jsut before he car was hit head on to save her, after being told he wont walk again he recovered to go on to win more majors!
Also you never met him..so how dare you say he was unpleasant?
Jeez what a shit attitude you have at such a young age....typical british chav!
Looks great when you can't see the result, doesn't it. I'm not saying he's bad, just saying that the video proves nothing except that the club head collided with the ball.
Wonder what his swing looks like when there's water left, OB right, and his opponent just striped one down the middle.
what do you mean by baseball technique ? its basically the same as golf only the plane is different. Thats why baseball players tend to be able to kill the golf ball.
Actually, baseball players tend to pull the golf ball. The best crossover golfers are ex-hockey players. For the record, golf and baseball are apples & oranges, my friend.
Hogan was too flat?!?! Plane only effects trajectory IF you have a correct body swing and Hogan had the best of all time. At the end of his career when he mastered the body swing he was the best striker ever.
Well I can tell you I've watched Joe Mauer hit balls and his ball was riding the target line all day.
If plane is a huge determining factor of ball flight why are two of the best players of all time, Hogan and Nicklaus, on the opposite sides of the spectrum. They also both hit the ball left to right all day. Nicklaus hit it higher with his steeper plane and Hogan's ballflight tended to be lower although he understood this concept so he could adjust his plane to change trajectory.
I sorta feel bad for Baddeley. only 22 years old, and he was in the Open. he was doing so good. It was probably that triple bogey on 1 that messed him up.
99% of amateur golfers? You're right, I have no idea. I too should take a back step before hitting the ball and move my shoulders, my head, my hips on different planes. Maybe that'll make golf even more challenging for me as if it wans't already. Please, show me how to swing like him.
yea, maybe you should hips and shoulders on different planes, cause if you don`t you`ll have to see your doctor very soon. but most importantly you should try to get into the slot and impact like this guy as thats how its supposed to swing the club.
That's shaft must have been a senior flex haha

the basics are the same. the reason they pull them is they are flat. hogan hooked it, the was too flat.

P.S. Hook/Pull...not the same

i read hogan got rid of his hooks when he upped the wrist at the top. whatever, im no hogan expert. you have a clue why baseballers pull the ball ?

you have no idea about the golf swing. this guy has better swing mechanics than 99% of amateur golfers.
