"Sticks and stones" my grandmother used to say, "may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." And I think she was right. You cannot charge somebody with a SPEECH CRIME if they did not specifically and with MENS REA intent, incite others to perpetrate a criminal act. Those who commit crimes are RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS even if they were incited by others. But the fact that others made shocking comments cannot make them guilty of subsequent actions of others. "Sticks and stones".
Ahhh! The Reverend is reminding me of this blockbuster Canadian case from 1959 which defended the Rule of Law in relation to FREEDOM OF SPEECH of the Witnesses of Jehovah. Gogle "lexum" -and- "supreme court of Canada" for the Decisions, and search for the Roncarelli ruling with the 1959scr0-121 { dot } html extension. Witnesses had preached in the streets about "Quebec's burning hate for Christ" and were repeatedly arrested and jailed until FREED by a court challenge and allowed to preach.
The Reverend may be right. Pope Benedict XVI called for the creation of a "world authority" tantamount to a one-world government in July of 2009. The Church moved into politics when Pope Paul II joined the Bilderberg, and then Pope Benedict. Christians are given euphemisms such as "the beast" to employ as their spiritual language, are they then to be slapped with a gag order for using it to express themselves in their "free" country?

Funny, whenever people try to take your freedom away, they call it freedom. Way to swallow the pill!
