  • No contradictions between The Bible & tHe Book of Mormon??

The Book of Mormon: "It is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do" (2 Nephi 25:23; see also Moroni 10:32)

The Bible: Apart from Christ we are dead in sin (Ephesians 2:1,5) and unable to do anything to merit forgiveness and eternal life. Salvation is wholly of grace (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 11:6; Titus 3:5-6), not by grace plus works. Good works are a result, not the basis, of a right relationship with God (Ephesians 2:10).

  • @CounterCultureLives

The BoM does not teach anything but salvation by the Atonement of CHrist. Just cause you do not understand that does not mean it does not. You are quoting a vs by someone living the Law not the Gospel and juding him by the Gospel... shame on you. Even though they were charged to live the Law they knew that they would be saved by Grace thought the atonement of CHrist. Shame on you for propagating a lie.

  • @Sk8er408 As any objective thinker can see, the contradictions between The Bible and The Book of Mormon are quite clear.

  • @CounterCultureLives

The only contradictions are only seen by those that dont think.... You can even see the contradictions in the bible itself. Or your own belief.

  • @Sk8er408 You can keep reciting your MORmONIC rhetoric, but the contradictions are all too clear. Are there contradictions in The Bible?? Absolutely. Contradictions in The Book of Mormon?? Quite clearly, there are. Are there contradictions between The Bible and The Book of Mormon?? All one need do is scroll through our discourse to see that there are.

As for The Bible?? You need to debate those matters with a Christian. You've lied, deceived and sidestepped, as any objective person can see.

  • @CounterCultureLives

You are so clever... really... i'm quite tickled by your childish tactics.

You can claim... but that is all you can do... Put up some proof... just one peice... instead of being a child and crying that you are right and everyone else is wrong that does not go along with your view.

Crusader... give me something that shows you are right... anything... or shut your pie hole.

  • @Sk8er408 No problem. Show me a chariot from Book of Mormon times. Show me a sword from Bom. Go find ANY unbiased Egyptologist (with no ties to LDS) who recognizes a language called "Reformed Egyptian". Show me a senine, seon, shum or a limnah. Show me the skeletal remains from the epochal battles that supposedly took place in The Book of Mormon.

What have you got?? A long list of feeble, failed excuses!! C'mon dude.... at the very LEAST, show me a map contained in The Book of Mormon!!

  • @CounterCultureLives

Funny... because you 100% believe anyone that would have an unfavorable view of the BoM... You have a double standard and would deny God himself as you have already deceived yourself that any truth could be out there.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Reformed Egyptian... why would it need to be recognize? it was used for one purpose that we know of... why would it be anywhere else or even that it is a spoken language?

senine seon shum limnah... really... just google pre Colombian coins... oh wait... i think they classify them as disc's... you have to be politically correct.

Skeletal remains do not last that long.... or are you unaware of that?

Said that you seeks sign you don't want to see.

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote: "Skeletal remains do not last that long.... or are you unaware of that?"

You've obviously never studied osteology. Google up the word "osteology" , then come back and pretend like you know something about it. Hint: If you truly did, you would not have made such a fallacious and asinine statement.

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote: "Why would Reformed Egyptian need to be recognize (sic)??"

Now, we've gone from sublime, to ridiculous, to asinine. The Book of Mormon is purported to be "the most correct book on the face of the Earth". That being the case, there should be credible evidences which will withstand critical scrutiny. There is no credible evidence to support the "Reformed Egyptian" crap.

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote: "Skeletal remains do not last that long.... or are you unaware of that?"

Now, after you've red a little bit about osteology, Google the word "paleontology", then come back and pretend like you know what you're talking about. Hint: If you did, you would not have made such a ridiculous or asinine statement. While you're at it, Google the words "Ossification", and "Petrification". Study those terms, and you'll discover what a MORmONIC fool you've made of yourself.

  • @Sk8er408 All I see here are feeble excuses.

Now, you'd have an objective thinker believe that "Reformed Egyptian" was used to tell the stories of BoM, but it wasn't used for any other purpose?? People didn't speak it??

The coinage?? What independent of experts have authenticated these coins, and validated their connections to BoM?"?

Skeletal remains don't last that long?? Then why have skeletal remains of prehistoric men/women been found, dated, and authenticated by credible experts??

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

You know nothing of language do you?

The coins are dated to BoM times... what more connection do you need sign seeker?

How many skeletons have we found?

You see in a war dead body would not last as they would not be buried that often and would be eaten by animals... But tell me how many people lived on earth and how many bones have we found O wise sign seeker that you are.

  • @Sk8er408 Your claims that coinage, or "discs" are dated back to BoM times is rather dubious, at best. You still have to establish a clear correlation between such coinage and The Book of Mormon itself. Simply claiming that these "discs" are tied to BoM is a claim that must correlate with the lands and people of BoM. Your grasp for straws fails.

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote:"How many skeletons have we found?" "

You see in a war dead body would not last as they would not be buried that often and would be eaten by animals."

Get off your lazy Mobot Apologetics ass and go do some legitimate research. You've already demonstrated your ignorance about osteology and paleontology in grand fashion. Had you conducted even minimal research, you wouldn't be asking such MORmONIC questions or making such asinine assertions.

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

Quaint. That is what your childish propaganda tactics are. Existing today is lest then 1% of the bones that have been buried. Asinine assertions is thinking that we would have bones covering the earth because they last forever.... I love how people lie to themselves to help them believe this or that to help them in the opinion... it is funny... quaint and funny.

  • @Sk8er408 So, calling upon you to educate yourself is now "propaganda"?? Chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, biology, human anatomy & physiology, geology, osteology, & paleontology are mere "tools of propaganda"??

Only to someone who believes that a man could receive "divine revelation" from staring at magic rocks in a hat!!

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote: "Skeletal remains do not last that long.... or are you unaware of that?"

Now, go take a course in organic chemistry. Of course, that will have to wait until you've studied basic chemistry. Studying Earth sciences would also help. Never mind, you're a long way away from being able to comprehend those sciences.

  • @CounterCultureLives

And we are digging up dead bodies left and right... because of the trillions of people that have been buried in the earth...

  • @Sk8er408 Now, you would have us believe that while the complete skeletal remains of Neanderthal Man have been located and authenticated through DNA research and technology, the skeletal remains of the so-called "Jeradites", "Nephites", and "Lamanites" have all........ what??

Dissolved??..... Disappeared??....... Been toted back to heaven by an angel??

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote: "And we are digging up dead bodies left and right... because of the trillions of people that have been buried in the earth..."

One day earlier, Sk8er408 Wrote: "Skeletal remains do not last that long.... or are you unaware of that?"

Now, just yesterday, you claimed that skeletal remains do not last that long. One day later, "And we are digging up dead bodies left and right."??

Great!! And the DNA extracted from skeletal remains will validate The Book of Mormon, right??

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

Don't you have something better to do other then hide out in your grandmas basement pretending to know something about life in general? I think i hear her calling you up for lunch... she said she even cut the crust off for you...

  • @Sk8er408 Now, facts fail you, substance fails you, your total ignorance of the sciences which pertain to The Book of Mormon has been exposed, so now, you're left with feeble minded, asinine retorts.

Without any foundation of knowledge, (gained through education and research, not from staring at magic rocks in a hat!!) or understanding of the sciences, you are reduced to attempting to ridicule and marginalize the education of others. Quite pathetic, but all so typical of MORmON Apologists.

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

Rants... they prove nothing but just make you feel important... You are nothing be a bigot spreading propaganda... Are you even a follower of Christ?

  • @Sk8er408 L.D.S. = L.ie + D.eceive + S.idestep

Another feeble minded attempt to S.idestep the issues at hand. If you think you're helping L.D.S. by posting your shallow, ignorant retorts, then go ahead and keep posting!! You're making my points for me.

Since when does scientific challenge fall under the definition of "propaganda" or "bigotry"??

Take the hint, "Sk8ter". Do the work, and you won't be reduced to having to "Sk8" around the facts.

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

    Your word play is elementary.

You have not raised any real issue... but just strawman that only you see.

You are not that smart if you can not read the words i'm posting... your so called scientific challenge is just ignorance on your part... I did not claim it was propaganda or bigotry... your "MORmON" is... You can ignore it again but the only one believing your lie is you.

If you put up facts you might be able to claim i skated around them...

  • Comment removed

  • @Sk8er408 So, anthropology, physics, organic chemistry, osteology, paleontology, and other sciences are not "real issues" in addressing the claims of BoM, or your claims?? In your mind, that may be true. In reality, you only serve to demonstrate your ignorance and lack of mental discipline. If you had any knowledge of the sciences I've mentioned, you would realize how MORmONIC your arguments are.

How can you claim that the sciences don't discredit BoM, or you, when you know nothing about them??

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

The real asinine issue is your claim that we should have bones laying around and sticking out of the ground from 1,000's of years of dead people and animals....

Your theory is just that... and not at all a good one.

You need a new crusade... one that you are a little more trained on... Leave the warmth of your grandma's basement and get a new hobby.

  • @Sk8er408 You've simply succeeded in demonstrating your colossal ignorance. You obviously know nothing about archaeology, anthropology, geology, paleontology, osteology, or organic chemistry, or else you would realize how foolish your assertions are. I'm not going to humor your foolishness by holding your hand. if you seek knowledge, there are abundant resources to help you gain it

    "Reformed F", Sk8er!!

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

Again... so were are all the bones? they should be scattered across the world in piles...

  • @Sk8er408 I just gave you an example, MORmON!! Dude, get off your lazy Mobot ass and do some legitimate research. I'm not going to spoon-feed a fool. When I was a kid, we had libraries and encyclopedias to use as reference tools. In high school and college, there were university libraries at my disposal. Those same resources are available today. In addition, we now have something called the internet. Used properly, information is plentiful; but you must find the mental discipline to use it.

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

I'm LDS nor am i a dude that has been dead for 1400 years.

You have not given any example but claimed their should be bodies... That would be the weakest example of all...

All U do is TEL LIES and promote hate for a people you fear. You aren't cleaver... Just filled with hate. We where warned about childish antics like you indulge in. Matthew 5:22 warns that those antics will only turn into extreme heat.

  • @Sk8er408 Can YOU NOT READ?? Here; let me state it again.

"The SKELETAL REMAINS of the Lenca people and the Pech People, DISCOVERED IN CENTRAL AMERICA, are NOT matters of "theory". They occupied the lands of Central America, and their skeletal remains date back to Approximately 1,000BCE. Their languages have also been researched and traced as well."

SEE?? There ARE Skeletal remains..... remains from the BODIES of the Lenca and the Pech people. Can you comprehend that??

  • @Sk8er408 What lies have I told?? Why would I FEAR you?? Well, if you have a driver's license or a voter's registration card, then I must say, you ARE dangerous!!

Are the sciences of archaeology, anthropology, organic chemistry, osteology, or paleontology founded in "lies"?? Of course, we've already established that you know nothing about any of them.

Are the skeletal remains of the Lenca's & the Pech's, as well as the skeletal remains AND the DNA tracings of The Lemba tribe merely theory??

  • @CounterCultureLives

    You are ranting...

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote: "I'm LDS nor am i a dude that has been dead for 1400 years.

Now, after your wimpering deluge of verblarhiah, I"M the one who'se RANTING??

I've raised very specific issues AND examples to support my claims. So, this is yor response to them??

  • @Sk8er408 I've asked you some specific questions. Let me restructure them for you.

1.) How do the sciences of archaeology, anthropology, organic chemistry, osteology, and paleontology pertain to assessing the evidences of skeletal remains??

2.) Why are the skeletal remains of the Lenca's, the Pech's, and the Lemba's plentiful, if, as you claim, "skeletal remains don't last that long"??

3.) Describe the comparison and the contrast between Lemba tribe, and the Jeradites, Nephites, and Lamanites??

  • @Sk8er408 Although you clearly do not understand why, ALL of these points play an important role in being able to accurately asses the accuracy of The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon, The Bible, and The Q'ran all tell stories. Are all of those stories true?? Are some of them true?? Are any of them true??

Many of the answers are found in the sciences. Those who seek to discredit the sciences in the name of "faith" are more focused upon "being right" than they are about discovering truth.

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

I've not seek to discredit any sciences.... Or even your faked up claim that skeletons should be everywhere...

  • @Sk8er408 You've only succeeded in making an ass of yourself. The only way your statements regarding the lack of skeletal remains can stand is by discrediting the sciences; you're not capable of doing that.

I'm not really into humoring fools, but I've allowed this conversation to continue so that LDS investigators and other people who are interested in studying BoM can see just how far Mormon apologists will go in their attempts to defend L.D.S., The Book of Mormon, and Joseph SmYth.

    Goodbye!!

  • @Sk8er408 Truth is based in fact. Facts welcome objective analysis and critical scrutiny. Truth is not ascertained by fervent feelings, nor "burnings in the bosom".

If you believe that "God" created the Heavens & the Earth, then you must recognize that the sciences are also manifestations of "God's" works. Accordingly when any religion calls upon it's followers to eschew the sciences, objective analysis, or critical scrutiny in the name of faith, it's motives should be questioned & challenged.

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

You have not brought facts or truth... just your opinion that is not very good. It is like me asking where the speaking ass is... other then assuming you can speak.

  • @Sk8er408 As far as the "speaking ass" is, go look in the mirror. It's clear that you have no answers, and that you lack the Spiritual courage an the mental discipline to conduct any research. Now, you're reduced to Sk8ting around the truth, and making half-baked excuses to justify your ignorance.

  • @coUnTErcuLtureLIvES

Unlike you... I can skate and abstain for smoking pot...

I've forgotten more about American archeology then you will even learn in your life time.

Still waiting for the countless of skeletons to show up... not just in NY or South America... but across the world. Not sure why you think only one area should be saturated with bones... I could only assume it is your double standard.

  • @Sk8er408 Wrote: I've forgotten more about American archeology then you will even learn in your life time.

Either you are lying through your Mobot Apologists teeth, (most likely) or you've forgotten EVERYTHING you ever learned about archaeology. (assuming that you ever learned anything in the first place) Looking at your poor grasp of sentence structure and your feeble responses, I'm left to wonder how your curriculum vitae reads. (another term for you to Google) "Sk8Boarding 101"?? ROTFLMAO!!

  • @CounterCultureLives

You succeeded in what? Pointing at a lack of evidence and calling that scientific proof... You are a genius.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Well... not really but you sure believe you are... What else can you proof without evidence?

  • @CounterCultureLives So, where did you study "American Archaeology"?? The Maxwell Institute?? BYU??

LOLOLZZ!! I certainly hope that your understanding of "American Archaeology" exceeds your understanding of the English language and proper sentence structure!!

So, share your curriculum vitae with us, SK8er!! (after you Google the term and learn what it means!!)

  • @CounterCultureLives

I'm sure you are deep in your qualifications about wanting to see all the bones of everyone that has ever lived on earth.

  • @Sk8er408 Once again, you engage the fundamentals of L.D.S.

    L.ie + D.eceive + S.idestep

    You've demonstrated your attempts to S.idestep, now, you're L.ying and D.eceiving.

The skeletal remains of the Lenca people and the Pech People, discovered in Central America, are not matters of "theory". They occupied the lands of Central America, and their skeletal remains date back to Approximately 1,000BCE. Their languages have also been researched and traced as well.

  • @Sk8er408 Show me unbiased experts who have authenticated so much as one scintilla of evidence from The Book of Mormon. Smithsonian? National Geographic Society?? Any Non-LDS affiliated university's schools of archaeology or anthropology?? Any Central / South American county's Ministry of Antiquities??

All you have is a so-called "prophet" who stared at magic rocks in his hat. Quite convincing in the face of your MORmONIC arrogance!! BTW: Where can I find maps in The Book of Mormon??

  • @CounterCultureLives

There are lots of organizations out there that what people to understand that there was Hebrew influence on pre-Colombia America. Lots and lots of them have nothing to do with religion.

The only ArRoGaNcE is in you.

  • @Sk8er408 Nice attempt to do the LDS Sidestep the issue of credible, authenticated evidence to support The book of Mormon., although your posting is apparently in the Mormon Language, "Reformed Gibberish".

These organizations you mention: "Lots and lots of them, you say"?? Yet, you have failed to mention even ONE of them that has authenticated so much as ONE piece of evidence that would validate The Book of Mormon.

  • @CounterCultureLives

one typo should not make it unreadable.

Google it. What evidence does the sign seeker want and i'll try to oblige him.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Yes... as you even object to the words of Christ in the bible... why would you not object to anything else?

But lets hear your quite clear reasoning... or what i would like to call lunatic rants without basis.

  • Comment removed

  • The Book of Mormon: The disobedience of Adam and Eve in eating the forbidden fruit was necessary so that they could have children and bring joy to mankind (2 Nephi 2:23-25).

The Bible: Adam’s transgression was a sinful act of rebellion that unleashed the power of sin and death in the human heart and throughout God’s perfect world (Genesis 3:16-19; Romans 5:12; 8:20-21)

  • @CounterCultureLives

No where dose is say Adam sinned. He transgressed the law in ignorance. This is not a sin. I guess you believe babies are guilty of sin in their innocence.... disregarding what CHrist taught about children.

  • Contradictions between The Bible & The Book of Mormon:

The Book of Mormon : Black skin is a sign of God’s curse, so that white-skinned people are considered morally and spiritually superior to black skinned people (2 Nephi 5:21).

The Bible: God "made of one blood all nations of men" (Acts 17:26, KJV), that in Christ distinctions of ethnicity, gender and social class are erased (Galatians 3:28), and that God condemns favoritism (James 2:1).

  • @CounterCultureLives black skin

I know you do not know this... but the curse reversed at times and the good people were the dark skin and the bad were the light skinned... if you weren't such a a bigot you would understand this.

  • Regarding "Kolob", L.D.S. was forced into conjuring up the "metaphorical' excuse when the absurdities of SmYth's claims became clear.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Sure... but you still cling to the trinity even though their are 4 not 3 members.

  • @scottwins2 so what you are saying its ok to rewrite the bible? I think this actually shows how J.S. could have plagerised the BOM.

  • "I am a lover of the cause of Christ and of virtue, chastity, and an upright, steady course of conduct and a holy walk. I despise a hypocrite or a covenant breaker. I judge them not; God shall judge them according to their works. I am a lover even of mine enemies, for an enemy seeketh to destroy openly. I can pray for those who despitefully use and persecute me, but for all I cannot hope." Joseph Smith Jr.

  • "How the Grinch Stole Chiasmus"

This is actually quite kool. The JST of Revelation 12:1-4 restores the chiasmus structure of it... Note... Chiasmus is a Hebrew form of writing like poetry. It was not known about untill the 20th century. But for some reason ol' Joe did not like those verses and changed them. Makes me wonder...

Don't believe me do your own research.

  • @Sk8er408 Great, ye all knowing!! Now, explain the link between The Book of Mormon times and the Elizabethan period. We look foreword to your response!!

  • @CounterCultureLives

You got me on this one... sounds made up... But looks like you have no response to Chiasmus but to ignore it and sweep it under the rug and pile crap like this accusation on it in hopes that people will for get it.... and you.

  • @Sk8er408 What "sounds made up"?? What "accusation" are you talking about??

  • @CounterCultureLives

Your Elizabeth conspiracy theory... Forgot about it huh? You just made it up on the spot i bet and now you can not remember what it was you were talking about... figures.

  • @Sk8er408 "Elizabethan conspiracy theory"?? I know exactly what I'm talking about. Now, please explain how The Elizabethan era and the times of the Book of Mormon. How is The Elizabethan era tied to ancient Meso-America, the Jeradites, the Nephites, and Lamanites??

  • @CounterCultureLives

You tell me know it all... or know not much at all with your try to fail the JST chiasmus by outing out other chiasmus in the bible... You are clueless... but entertain me with your kook conspiracy.

  • @Sk8er408 What's the matter?? Feeling a little threatened?? Let me simplify my question.

Is there any connection between the times of BoM and the Elizabethan era.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Threatened? Not in the slight... Am i feeling like i'm conversing with a loon... defiantly.

  • @Sk8er408 what "kook conspiracy" are you referring to?? All anyone need do is read a few chapters in The Book of Mormon to see why I'm posing this question to you. Are your critical thinking skills so weak that you can't answer a simple question??

  • @CounterCultureLives

Lay it out knowitall to us that dont see 23 in everything we read.

  • @Sk8er408 I'll give you a hint. The book of Mormon was "translated" into Elizabethan English. Since you consider ant connection between The Book of Mormon and the Elizabethan era to be some type of kooky conspiracy, then you must recognize that there is no connection between the two, other than the fact that BoM was "translated" in Elizabethan English. That being the case, there is no reason for BoM to be written in Elizabethan English.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Tradition... you dont know much about it huh?

  • @Sk8er408 Your "tradition" argument fails. The times of The Book of Mormon took place long before the Elizabethan era, so the so-called "plates" that SmYth claims to have translated could not have had ant connection with the Elizabethan era.

  • @CounterCultureLives

You understand that he also uses the french word adieu. I think you need to understand what "Translate" means and what "tradition" also means...

Here... tell me... how many different English translations of the bible do we have and why?

  • @Sk8er408 The stories in The Book of Mormon allegedly took place between +/- 2000BC and +/- 400AD. The Elizabethan period did not even begin until 1558. That being the case, the Elizabethan period has absolutely no connection to The Book of Mormon; which clearly demonstrates that SmYth did not "translate" The Book of Mormon, he WROTE it. That makes BoM a 19th century novel of poorly written religious fiction.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Still waiting for your answer on the different English versions of the bible.

  • @Sk8er408 Have you not studied the history of The Bible?? The earliest English translations of The Bible did not take place until the latter part of the 7th century; not within BoM time frames. Aldhelm translated the Book of Psalms and large portions of other scriptures into Old English, but those were not complete translations. Hope you're not hanging your hopes on that!! The King James version was completed in 1611.

There's a 500 char. limit, so you'll need to do some research on your own.

  • Comment removed

  • @CounterCultureLives You're attempt to draw upon "tradition": is quite feeble. There is absolutely no connection between BoM time frames and English translations of The Bible, so tradition would not play a part in an accurate translation. SmYth chose to compose BoM in the fashion of Elizabethan English because the English translations of The Bible were what he was familiar with. That means he WROTE the Book of Mormon, as opposed to "translating" it.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Says you... Tradition is a bigger part in tradition today then it was for the Jews at Christ time.

The BoM was translated from a Hebrew influenced Egyptian script... that was probably able get whole english sentences out of one character. Please tell me how you would translate Love into hebrew?

You are obviously not a linguist and have no idea what you are talking about. So stop trying...

Spoken in authentic "Reformed Mormon Gibberish" gibberish!! What the heck is that supposed to mean??

  • @CounterCultureLives

Tradition is a bigger part in RELIGION today then it was for the Jews at Christ time.

    Is that better?

Not Mormon... but thanks for the compliment...

  • @Sk8er408 You're claiming that SmYth translated the plates in Elizabethan English because of "tradition"?? If SmYth was told that all other religions were "an abomination", and The Bible was adulterated, then there's no sound reason for "translating" them into Elizabeth English. SmYth's work mimics the writing styles of Solomon Spaulding's (nick named "Ol' Come to pass") Of course,SmYth's 'translation" came from staring at magic rocks in a hat, not examining the so-called "plates".

  • @CounterCultureLives

What is with you haters and your capitol letters in words to be all cryptic... does it make you feel special?

One thing is wrong in your opinion... JS was a bible believer... Look at the JST... he kept the same form... Why is that? Translation is in the eye of the translator... not yours. You calim is lame and only makes sense to you.

  • @Sk8er408 "Translation is in the eyes of the TRANSLATOR?? Have you ever studied any foreign language in high school or college?? Ever sat for a foreign language exam?? Go tell a college professor that "translation is in the eyes of the translator', and watch him/her laugh you out of the classroom. Better yet, tell your teacher or professor that you "translated' the exam by staring at magic rocks in a hat!! What does a "Reformed F" look like??

  • @CounterCultureLives

We are not talking about Spanish to English... But i know it is hard for you to understand...

Keep telling yourself it is as easy as that though... it will help you in you lie to yourself more.

  • @Sk8er408 All that coming from someone who follows a "prophet" who stared at magic rocks in his hat??

  • @CounterCultureLives

WHo said a follow JS? I'm not LDS. but thanks for showing me how you just assume and digress to ad hominem.

Show me where this hat thing came from.... why dont you?

  • @Sk8er408 oh, of COURSE you're not LDS. You're just someone who jumps through every hoop imaginable to defend the crock called The Book of Mormon, and L.D.S.

    L.D.S. - L.ie + D.eceive + S.idestep

As to "where the "hat thing" came from?? Are you now attempting to deny that Joseph SmYth put 'a chocolate covered stone in a hat" while "translating the golden plates.?? Even LDS openly recognizes that SmYth used his "seer stone" in order to "translate" the so-called "plates".

  • @CounterCultureLives

    BAC=Bicker Accuse Contend

  • @CounterCultureLives

Hat thing... so you got nothing??? figures. YOu just love to propagate rumor... Thanks for proving my point.

  • @Sk8er408 An Address to All Believers in Christ, Davis Whitmer: Pt. 1)

I will now give you a description of the manner in which the Book of Mormon was translated. Joseph Smith would put the seer stone into a hat, and put his face in the hat, drawing it closely around his face to exclude the light; and in the darkness the spiritual light would shine.

  • @CounterCultureLives An Address to All believers In Christ, Whitmer, Pt.2)

" A piece of something resembling parchment would appear, and under it was the interpretation in English. Brother Joseph would read off the English to Oliver Cowdery, who was his principal scribe, and when it was written down and repeated to brother Joseph to see if it was correct, then it would disappear, and another character with the interpretation would appear. "

  • @Sk8er408 So, what ARE we talking about? "Reformed Spanish" to "Reformed English"?? You follow a "prophet" who stared at magic rocks in a hat, and you claim that I'm lying to myself??

    OhhhhhhKAAAAYYYY!!!!

  • @CounterCultureLives

    Who said I follow JS?

So you lose a point and you digress to ad hominem? typical.

btw... the hat thing is rumor... but go ahead and find it for me...

  • @Sk8er408 So, Joseph SmYth was a Bible believer?? Are you now claiming that The Bible teaches that salvation is attained through works, and not grace?? Does The Bible teach that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers?? Does The Bible teach that man can ascend to become a "god"?? And where in The Bible is there any mention of a planet called "Kolob"?

  • @Sk8er408 So, Joseph SmYth was a Bible believer?? Are you now claiming that The Bible teaches that salvation is attained through works, and not grace?? • @CounterCultureLives

JS did not teach that salvation is attained through works anymore then Christ did in John 15:12-14.

The bible states that angels are sons of God... and so is Jesus... yet satan denied who he was and as such has no part..

Yes... man can become like god. Jesus calls us gods and we can become heirs of God and JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST... and we are told to be one with God and Christ is one with him.

Kolob is not an issue. it is a metaphor. WHy dont you show me a talking ass?

  • @Sk8er408 Interesting conjecture, but the stories told by LDS are certainly not in keeping with The Bible.

Your claims that salvation is attained through grace is not in keeping with LDS teachings. LDS teaches that the "Celestial Kingdom" must be earned. As far as man becoming like God?? Not according to Christianity or The Bible. Show you a 'talking ass"?? (Well, for starters, go look in the mirror!!) As far as that Biblical fable is concerned?? Take that up with a Christian.

  • @CounterCultureLives

CK is not being saved... so it is in line with teaching about many houses in the Lords house and rewards... Read your bible... and not just John 3:16.

  • @Sk8er408 According to Joseph SmYth, "Kolob, signifying the first creation, nearest to the celestial, or the residence of God. First in government, the last pertaining to the measurement of time. The measurement according to celestial time, which celestial time signifies one day to a cubit. One day in Kolob is equal to a thousand years according to the measurement of this earth, which is called by the Egyptians Jah-oh-eh."

    Nothing metaphorical about that!!

  • @CounterCultureLives

Ya... so is it metaphorical that we should be one with God as God is one with Christ?

  • Comment removed

  • @CounterCultureLives Just as SmYth plagiarized many chapters in The Bible, he also relied on the Elizabethan translations found in The Bible, and the Chiasmus passages he found in The Bible. (I've already given you a few passages) Now, the whole little Chiasmus "silver bullet" has been exposed as another one of SmYth's frauds. He wrote BoM in Elizabethan English form because he was too uneducated to realize that there was no connection between the times of BoM and the Elizabethan era..

  • @Sk8er408 So, you have no answer, do you. interesting how Mobots claim to know so much, but the research do little.

  • @CounterCultureLives

Mobots? I'm not LDS... if that is what you are implying. But thanks for the compliment. You have no answer for the Chiasmus... see i was responding to the topic of the video... you made a bizarre out of context claim about something only you know about.

  • @Sk8er408 Chiasmus is also found in The Bible; Matthew 19:30, Matthew 7:6, Isaiah 6:10, Isaiah 2:3-5 are just a few examples. So, the "Chiasmus" card fails.

  • @CounterCultureLives

You are clueless... that strengths JST and the completion of the chiasmus that it did.. You just ran into the wall...

  • @Sk8er408 No wall here at all. SmYth didn't have to dig very hard to find Chiasmus in The Bible, nor did he need any supernatural of mystical powers, or "revelations" in order to incorporate it in his writings. So, your attempt to rely on Chiasmus as "the silver bullet" fails. Now, I've answered your question; please answer mine. Answer my question. What is the connection between the times of The Book of Mormon and the Elizabethan period??

  • Mormons believe the Bible to be the word of God and live by it. We believe in Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and continuing to repent throughout life which is straight from the Bible. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Mormon is just a nickname given to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The church teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You'll never know until you decide to investigate yourself. It's so true

    : )

  • @liberty4all4life It's such a false gospel,

  • @liberty4all4life You should add that mormons do not fully believe what the Bible says regarding: marriage in heaven, polygamy, polytheism, tithing at 10%, The Holy Trinity, The Cross, Extra works being additional requirement as Jesus Atonement for our sins and everlasting life isn't enough, that we are creations and not Gods children until we are reborn in faith in Jesus, No pre-existence and no spiritual children, the kingdom and it's organisation of heaven is considered different by mormons

  • @liberty4all4life: Mormonism is patent nonsense. I've learned plenty enough about it to come that informed reasonable conclusion. It is patent nonsense to say you believe in the Bible. That is lying by half truths. You believe in a Bible, just not the one that any person living today can find & hold his hands. You believe in a fantasmic lost Bible that existed b/f the evil church of the Apostasy corrupted it. This lost Bible supposedly taught pure Mormonism. Show us this Bible.

  • @aTrueHybrid he means Luke 10:22

  • that came from lds website

  • What is this dude's name? I see him all over but I cannot find his name...

    Anyone?

  • Shawn McCraney

  • The gospel of Jesus Christ is simple. It begins with faith in Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ is believing in Him, trusting Him, and depending on Him. Faith in Jesus Christ leads you to want to change your life for the better. Through repentance, you change those thoughts, desires, habits, and actions that are not in harmony with Gods teachings. Heavenly Father promises that when you repent, He will forgive your sins.

  • Every man was born a sinner..your sins were forgiven when Jesus Christ died on the cross..

    pretty simple.. dont ya think??

  • Well, how does this "translation" differ from the actual Bible? Pardon me for doubting his claim to have translated anything. By standards of the time, Smith could at best be described as semiliterate. He most assuredly did not have classical education. He would not have had Latin I don't think & most assuredly would not have studied Koine Greek. His Bible is patent nonsense.

  • Are the LDS -Utah & the RLDS so hostile to each other that the Utah branch can't make a deal w/ the RLDS to publish this book? What is the official stand of the LDS-Utah to this book?

  • Well, LDS bookstores sell the JST Bible. The problem is with the footnotes and cross-references. The LDS Church could possibly release it's own edition with cross-references to LDS Standard Works and add it's own footnotes, but it would probably have to do so under license from the RLDS. This creates a bit of a conflict of interest for both churches. Each would probably want editorial control of such an edition, and that would be unacceptable to either party.

  • Is it possible to lay hands on this Smith Bible, & what reasons do the LDSers give for not promoting it?

  • the copyright is owned by the RLDS.

  • Smith must have had serious mental problems. This is all compulsive lying behavior. It is a deranged way of getting attention. This must be seen as Smith's primary drive.

  • This shows my general ignorance of all things Mormon. I literally did not know that Smith actually "translated" his own version of the Bible. No doubt he pulled this one out of his hat as well. This must be very embarrassing for the authorities of Mormonism if it is so well hidden. Where could I learn more about this thing. The idea of Smith translating the Bible is quite silly. From what I've gathered, Smith was, at best, semi-literate.
