  • I don't fucking understand djent....fuck me i wish i was talented enough to write some djent riffs.

  • I wanna get a 9 string, instead of tuning it with three extra lows, I'd go two extra lows (standard 8) and an extra high A

  • I love the snare you're using, it sounds amazing. The china sounds nice, but I love that snare.

  • Awesome song! Very Devin Townsend-meets-Periphery

  • Dude, are you in a band?

  • PURE DJENTNESS RIGHT HERE

  • Sweet!

  • Neato!

  • What drum machine are you using?

  • Sick china symbol. is that what you meant by 'found your china?' Drum machine? More info on your stuff plz :D

  • @emann43

I would guess he found his favorite China sample sound... as he used a shitload of China all over the song ;) In case you didn't know; China is a drum cymbal that makes a thrashy sound :)

  • as far as schecter 7 string models, the 2009-2010 version of the Blackjack C7 is an absolute beast. I'm talking about the version with the card inlay at the 12th fret. I'd recommend that above the damien elite models.

  • sounds great!!

  • This is just completely awesome! I was actually thinking about getting a Schecter Damien Elite-7 or 8. What do you think? And what tuning is this in? Sounds sick. :D

  • @xXKushmanXx Honestly, I would probably go with the elite-7...I've been contemplating the agile intrepid 9 and the blackjack 7 that schecter makes...I think 7 strings are far more practical than 8 or 9 string guitars...sometimes the 8th just gets annoying.

  • @corridorofchameleons

Thank you! I'm definately going with the Elite-7. If I may ask, what tuning do you play in?

  • @corridorofchameleons I have a Schecter Elite-7 with a Duncan invader in the bridge super high output, sadly haveing to sell it for college expenses posting it back on ebay tomarrow

  • @corridorofchameleons Have you ever considered tuning your 8 so instead of having a low F# you have a high A? So it would be like from low B to A, Hell you could also drop either the low B or the high A and it would make large chords easy as hell to do. I'm sure you've already thought about this though lol

  • @xXKushmanXx I have an elite 7, I have to say, I am OVER impressed with how this guitar sounds / feels to play. I've only had it about a month. Such a strong sound, and the notes ring on for everrrrrrr. :)

    I'd recommend it.

  • @los

Thanks man, I'm really going to go ahead and get one of these. :)

  • The next Cloudkicker but with the talent of periphery :)

  • greaaat maaan! your tune is so beautiful!!!! i love it!! what tuning you use? drop GCGCFAD???

  • Can you please let me know if there is a better quality and/or longer version of this? Quite possibly my favourite progressive metal (Yes, I know you people call it 'djent') track so far, and boy have I listened to a lot of it.

  • You my friend, are creative as hell.

  • Whats the tuning? And what is djent?

  • @intheshapeofhuman lol @ what is djent

  • @intheshapeofhuman It's an onomotopaeia for the sound of the guitar, but since it was started by Meshuggah, many bands that are similar to them are now considered "djent", so consequently it's become a sub-genre. :)

  • @ComfyNumb1989 Which is ridiculous because it's limiting progressive metal to onomatopoeia which is fairly ironic/contradictory.

  • @Oli4drums It's a bit of a stupid name alright, but ahell. :P

  • @Oli4drums 1of2:

You gotta remember my friend, progressive metal is a VERY broad term, which could mean ALOT of things.

Example, if my friends ask me what I am listening to, I would be like "ahh, just this progressive metal band",

right away most will speculate I'm listening to Dream Theather, Opeth, Rush, etc(I had people ask me if it's Rush haha).

  • @Oli4drums 2of2:

Honestly it's not contradictory at all:) I gives this sub-genre a name for itself, and I think that's great!:)

It's like calling Iron Maiden and August Burns Red "metal".

Yes there under the broad term of "metal", but there both under completely different sounds and both have a name for themselves that is each unique and beautiful.

So giving the term "Djent" to bands like Periphery or Vildhjarta is completely appropriate:)

  • @Oli4drums 3of2:(Yeah I can do that:D)

Also remember(another example), Suicidal Tendencies coined the term "metalcore", which is now a widely used sub-genre, soo whats the difference, you know?:)

  • Love the creativity.
