I didn't really take notice to any lag. However, if you have trouble with any lag, (on XP) you can ctrl+alt+del and run the task manager. Then find your emulator in the processes. Right click it, and set priority to "high". That seems to help me at least.
I never managed to find all 100 stars when I used to play it, neighter did I got 100 coins in the later levels. Wow I am so excited. =)
The video is okay from the smoothness - I hope the lag does not disturb your skills in that one. Haven´t played it a long time but I remember it is very hard with all the 3-D control and stuff. Anyway - have fun!
You can always try increasing the CPU priority of the emulator(and the recording software if necessary). Do NOT use real time though, high is good option though.
You can go up the hill at 04:37 if you just walk and maintain the walking button pressed. It is slow but but's faster than having to do it the normal way. BTW, a good recorder for SM64 is Fraps which can record microphone at the same time too.
Hold jump and press punch, you'll do a kick thing, and you can spam this to get up most slopes, specially in world 1. :3
