same what im doing i ride bmx , but i dont use my bike for this cause its too mutch expensive for me but i have some left over parts so i made a bike without wheels , it has haro frame , mongoose bars and forks but instead of footpegs i use cranks and peddalls and also a seat now just need to buy some ski's and snow here i come ill be making edit of it

Well, I've been streeting for about 7 years and dirting for about 5 years. I've got hardtails and other bikes so I would say that I ride the bike kind of well. But isn't it kind of obvious that these "snowbikes" has suspension? Just look at 1:06, and if the snowbikes wouldn't have suspension it wouldn't be possible to ride without getting a lot of pain for an example: The jumps, the landing would be hard as hell if you land on pure ice and the bike wouldn't feel so well either without suspension

I love these mounts, they are awsome! They have brought a new level of fun to my life. I wish everyone who wants a pair could have one. Sadly I have been informed that Mr. Hansen stopped manufacturing these kits 2 years ago. He does have the patent on any device like this one intergrating an axle. Rumor has it he isn't even licencing it out to anyone, who knows why. You can find a few kits floating around on the web, but they are hard to come by.

I got lucky. I bought mine at the end of last season before the website I got them from closed forever. Google Search this exact phrase: "Hansen snow bike cinversion kits" that is the best I know of. Good luck!

as a expert biker the only thing i would change is the distance from the fork drop outs and rear drop outs to the ski. they should be increased for better standing and natural feeling. also i would use a wider ski in the front and a smaller rear. but still looks fun as hell and im glad to see someone actually took time to build a conversion. but like i said make it taller and you can get better use out of the natural geometry.

Looks awesome, but how do you get on the lifts with those? Aren't they kinda heavy? And will they be allowed this coming winter season at Bear mountain? I'm glad that Bear Mountain is my "local" ski resort.

Super easy to ride and get on the lifts with snowbikes! A bike frame without wheels is light. You just walk out in front of the lift chair-sit down and let the bike frame rest on your lap. In fact the skiis on the bike rest on the lift foot rest and up you go! To get off the lift just straddle the bike and ride away! It's pretty easy. Bear Mtn. and Mtn.High let us ride. It's a blast!

hmmm im sure this is very fun, but when you're going off jumps on dirt tracks on BMXs you can brace for the landing and the air in the tyres aids with suspension...I dont like the idea of jumping off a jump, onto unpredictably uneven ground, with no suspension and a big pole between my legs...
