It is a surprise that I don't see Samantha Escarbe on the videos that list the women in metal. It's always Cristina Scabbia, Sharon den Adel, Tarja Turunen, Simone Simons, and many of the other symphonic metal type women even though I do respect and love them as well.
I really love that first solo of hers in this song it still sends me chills and expresses melancholy quite well. She is not only an underrated woman in the metal scene but also an underrated guitarist overall.

But they make me think of old Gothic cathedrals and the poignant things in Christianity. There are certain beautiful qualities surrounding nearly every religion out there that make them unique and recognizable-like architecture, for instance. You don't have be Christian to think this is beautiful music.

This song is a mastery and i hope it burns into the minds of all and may save the lives of a few...this band is a poetic artwork in absolute genius when they wrote this....those who fear this fear only truth itself and those who fear the message in their heart feel guilt and fear itself....jesus loves us all and may his grace bless his nay sayers and his power drown those pagans who hear it in truth and bliss....this is sad yet beautiful.....

I love his voice and i really love this band and all their songs! And i love the part between 3:35 - 3:46 love the mix with his great voice and the growl. 5:02 - 5:43 is a nice contrast to the song aswell. The intire song is genius! I cant say anything that is bad with this. Guitar and everything! AAAAHHHH this band means so much to me even if im not a cristian

In the end, my point is that I am a Pantheistic Pagan (Druidic), yet I really enjoy this song because they music is beautiful. As someone else mentioned, you dont have to share the same beliefs to appreciate the *music* and passion of a song.

I really dont see why some people (Ive read a few comments) are threatened by this. It isnt like they are going out in front of a large congregation of people and using charismatic, body-language driven preaching in a way to brainwash people in believing something, using fears of divine punishment and so forth.
They are artistic individuals who are expressing their ideals through music. Governments and organized religion are for more harmful than this band is.

I love that Virgin Black can talk about Christian things without being annoying or pushy or close-minded, which is what I usually think of when I hear the term "Christian-based music." But they make me think of old Gothic cathedrals and the poignant things in Christianity. There are certain beautiful qualities surrounding nearly every religion out there that make them unique and recognizable-like architecture, for instance. You don't have be Christian to think this is beautiful music.
