Respond to this video... hey thats some helpful shit dude . i tried reading the user guyed and it confused the shit out of me hah. u must have mastered the machine by now. have u figured out how to chop up samples just using the mpc itself . it fuckin ridicules. im starting to understand it better but still having a hard time figuring this thing out .

@delakush666 i never really did master the chopping. its to long and numerical. it has to be done by ear. i just import my chops from my laptop.

@riosbeatz1 ok. what software do u use . i had fl studios on my last computer , not sure if it will do anything for chopping and sampling. i dont want to spend the money on a useless software im thinking pro tools. fl has some ill ass sounds and it really user friendly. o yo i have a question every time i import a sample and play the pad it comes out in a slower tempo... any idea what i need to do . and how do i make the sample able to stop play when i release the pad .

@riosbeatz1 i go to hit the pad i assigned the sample to and it plays the whole thing . i want to be able to play the sample by holding down the pad and stopping it when i release the pad . any idea on how to do that.?

@delakush666 oh man its been a while since i messed with an mpc but i believe it's in the program mode. you have to switch the "note" to on. i believe. lemme know if its right.

ok..I dl'ed the samples..How do I assign them to the pads or does it do it automatically? If so how do I start playing those new samples I just dl'ed onto the CF card?

hey rios. i got an mpc 500 and everything is pretty much going good except that no matter what i do those first five sequences that come with the MPC never go away and on all the other sequences (6 through 99) the instrument kit for "DJ-Hip_Hop" remain. how can i get rid of these awful kits and load up some of my samples?

Hey rios, I'm having trouble with formatting my CF Card. When ever i try to format it, i go to the format section of Mode load and it shows Format CF card the Do It button isn't flashing nor is it do anything when i press it. Please help me, its really pissing me off..

How do you download samples off vinyl? Do you have to get some sort of a program and download them onto a computer and then send it to the MPC or can you somehow go from vinyl straight to the MPC. Thanks

different "folders" could essentially be different songs right? with the samples you use for the songs comprising the folders? so when you cycle between folders, you essentially cycle between songs?

yup different folders could mean that. dependeing how you put the items in the mor save them. and yeah if you save everything that you using into a certain folder everything will be right in that certain folders.

it's very portable. if you have samples already ready in the cf card and drums to pick you can easily make beats with 30 min depending how familiar you get with your machine. i usually take my headphones and my rca inputs and out just in case i come across a device i can sample into it. the batteries last pretty decent as long as the light isn't always on.

yup as long as you save it into a folder within the card or sample it straight into the mpc it can be used.

when you press mode load it shoul bring up the load menu showing you what's on the card. scroll it until it says load:samples

that will cause all the sample files to appear.

It's when you preview them they pitch up, I don't know why, it happens to me too, but when I assign the sample to the pads, it's normal.

when i preview them they are just fine but when i assign them to pads they change pitch, its like pads 7,8,9 are fine but like 1,2,3, and up change the pitch

so i have to assign the samples to the same pads but like B, C, D etc.

it's also quite annoying that it cant remember what you last did, i even saved my stuff and went back to load it and it erased everything!!!! wtf it killed my beat creation drive, it kept the samples on there but i had to reassign everything to its pads again annoying!!

have you formated your mpc. or press the bubble that comes up during that process on your pc?

it's probably your drivers. see your drivers, and then whatever they are go look for the most current drivers and just download them and they should replace the old ones. then it should recognize ur usb device.

there is 2 reasons i think

1.i think The MPC500 can read only 24-bit Files or 16...i dont sure about that...

2.if youre not puting all your samples in folders,so it maybe be hard to assign them

ahh no doubt, its more bout ability than equipment, take producers like 9th wonder who still uses fl studio and hes one of the best, the only thing i dont rely like bout the mpd is the fact that it has to be connected to a comp at all times, but its worth way more than its price tag
