i can see why atheism is so wide spread in america. its our stupid parents faults that didnt tell us the truth and lied to keep us happy. they made us believe a man in red and white 300 pounds would come down our chimney and give us gifts. that is why today no one with an intelligent mind would believe in a man being GOD because they associate it with the first lie they told. i do believe in GOD but not a man GOD.
I believe there are more Gods than one God.Iam not against Jews but I believe this one God wanted competition it's so obious.Polytheism makes more sense. It's time to search through history and learn more and find your own conclusion than listening to what only the mainstream Christians say!!!
Christianity is not Catholicism. Even Catholics are confused with this and will say it is, but it isn't. It's the pagan political representation. Just read the scriptures and compare it. Too many have fallen victim to the synagogue's teachings and haven't been paying attention. We are to pray to God and God only. Look up Christians are suppose to pray. ie Our Father.
Everyone has their own beliefs. There is no way you can prove wrong to someone's beliefs, but having no belief is the worse of all. Once you can explain the scientific reason for love, sadness, happiness and pride then prove religions wrong.

Islam is the true religion and Qur'an is the last revelation to the mankind till the day of Resurrection. Proof is the Qur'an itself which speaks abt miracles which human brains couldn't even dreamt of 1400 years ago! E.g. Its the same Qur'an which says ALLAH is the creator and Muhammad (PBUH) is his messenger!
You may want to avoid arguments, but I've got to say, the presence or existence of other spiritual type entities does not make them gods. Angels and demons, including Satan, are not gods or authorities. Neither are to be worshipped. Further, any "religion" that deviates from the bible; catholicism, Mormonism, etc., are not Christian.
Patricianatheist, religion put aside, do you have a hope for anything?
(Now with religion back in) For most thats why they believe in God. So they can have a reason to keep breathing. A reason to be alive, you know? Thats why I believe in it. To believe that when we die, its not the end. Because none of us want to see a end, right?
Genesis will get you nowhere as apologists will say that God is using the "royal we."
Try where Moses and Aaron battle Pharaoh's magicians. Both sides use God-level magic. So Pharaoh's God exists, but JHVH can kick the crap out of him. Game over, monotheists.
actually that will also get you nowhere, I deny that both sides use god level magic, never can pharaoh's magicians do anything against the 10 plagues or the splitting the sea, they never use god level magic, also even if they could it would still not prove there god real, otherwise the event would have been mentioned, your premises are not contingent on evidence.

not only that but you also forget to mention pharaohs magicians staffs were all swallowed by araons staff. thus even with the magic, GOD showed his power with moses and araon. you should read the bible.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but Catholics do not worship saints. Our prayers to the saints are simply a way in which we ask for their intercession to God.
An example would be if you wanted a favour from your dad, but thought that he may say no. You may ask your mom to ask him, hoping that due to her special relationship to him, she would know the proper way to ask and your request would be granted.
This is called intercession. Not worship. It is always God who grants the prayer.
So basically you are afraid to ask God cuz you think he might say no, so you try to fool God by asking a saint since the saint will have a better chance of being told yes?
Also isn't a mother equal in status with a father???
The point I was making is that Catholics do not worship the saints, so therefore we are not engaging in polytheism. This simple fact undermines the entire video.
As for your query about a mother being equal with a father, you are thinking "naturally" and not "supernaturally". Mary is our spiritual mother, but is most certainly not equal to God.
And finally, praying to the saints is really not that strange. Christians ask other people to pray for them all the time.
Thanks for the definition of worship! I agree, it brings clarity to the fact that Catholics do not worship Mary, but ask for her intercession to God. Mary is not divine. Like all humans, she is a creature (the highest of all creatures), but still a creature nonetheless. Worship is due only to God. Great post!
Divine, noun, of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God or a god. Mary and all spirits become one with God once they go to heaven; therefore, they are divine; therefore, there are to be worshipped. Hindu's believe that all gods are of one essence, but they don't pretend to be something they're not and admit to being polytheist. Better?
Nice try. You argument seems logical at first glance, but it flows from a fatal error that destroys it from the outset.
Mary and the saints "do not proceed directly from God". Anything proceeding directly from God is begotten and not made. This is why Christinaity is Monotheistic. It recognizes that Jesus is begotten and not made.
Creatures (as with Mary and the saints) are not begotten. They are made (or created) and hence do not fall under the deifinition of "divine."
Originally, they are not; but when they go to heaven they are of God, relating to God, and stemming directly from God or else their souls would be lost. I'm not making any assumptions here, this is straight from my Christianity teacher back in high school (besides the worship part, which can be logically deduced). You may not believe that they become one with God, and that is fine, but this is official Catholic catechism.
When formulating your argument you did not take into consideration that Christians consider Christ (God) begotten and not made. This is the fundamental difference between God and all created creatures.
By simply showing that your argument does not fit into the definition of "divine" you can no longer use the term to further your argument.
Created things are made and not begotten and hence cannot be divine. Thus they cannot be worshipped.
Stop being so obnoxious and listen to what I'm saying. Jesus, according to you, was miraculously conceived, so he was always holy (plus he is God). The saints were not, so they are not worshipped when alive. When dead, they're part of the divine identity, at which point they are worshipped. They are not as holy as God because they still have their own identity as well. Most polytheist religions have one God that is worshipped more than the others, and that is the case here as well.
That's fine. A god doesn't have to be an ultimate power, he just has to have enough power to be worshipped by humans or has to be controlling of a particular part of reality. There is some debate among Hindus on whether lesser gods worship the higher ones, but I see no problem with it as long as the one god is more powerful. In the case of Christianity, the central god is omnipotent, but this can be viewed as a collaboration of all divinity, much like other polytheist religions.
you would think if a passed away loved one was responsible for winning money, they would have helped their loved ones win more than $20. My family does the same thing
The basis for polytheism was, if I'm not mistaken, ancestor worship. It's possible to trace the evolution of Christianity from paganism, to worship of a single part of a pantheon (Yahweh, not Baal ect.) To the beginnings of Christianity narrowing of the pantheon with the Trinity of greater deities and Mary, the Saints and archangels. It's no coincidence that many of the 'Christian' holidays were celebrated hundreds of years before Jesus was even born, if indeed he was.
Wow. Basically you first state you were never indoctrinated into Christianity, later on stating you know that we are polytheist's, from obtaining a few verses, of a book, you have no obligation to whatsoever. Pathetic.
What's pathetic is your lack of intellectual integrity, which I promise you I will call you out for in the near future with a scathing video (after having watched your inept productions). So basically your comment is saying that because I am not a Christian I cannot use the Bible as evidence in my argument for Christianity being polytheism? Asinine. And your foolish comment also ignores all of the other evidence presented... Must be convenient to have your head that far up your ass. Child.
Oooh, never a good thing to result to ad hominem attacks, especially after the initiator himself did too. "inept", you make me laugh. And no, that's not what my comment said you oblivious mentally defected little simpleton. "Child" - hahahahahahaha, more attacks missing the point, because your argument does that all together. Must be convenient, for you to haver your head so far up your ass, that your astutely incapable mind, has nothing better to do, than make attempts at disproving people. LOL
You really are completely shameless. First, you voice your weak argument and sprinkle it with unfounded personal attacks. Then, when I challenge it you go to a lower level, ignore the valid points I brought up about the weakness of the logic you use and then make your response a complete personal attack. And when I call you a stupid child, your videos self-evidently prove it. Not to mention your comments: I am trying to disprove people? No. I am challenging their weak ideas. Stupid child.
@patricianatheist Everyone has their own beliefs. There is no way you can prove wrong to someone's beliefs, but having no belief is the worse of all. Once you can explain the scientific reason for love, sadness, happiness and pride then prove religions wrong.

I bet TheFaithofGod is the type of person who accepts all science (however faulty it may be) that benefits himself and his religion, but the second that it helps anybody else and in addition makes strong claims against his religion he'll go against it! Unfounded personal attacks at its finest! :)

I'm familiar with the argument, that non-Christians cannot begin to comprehend the Bible without accepting Jesus etc etc.
This strikes me as a rather lazy argument, that a person has to believe in order criticize, when criticism is a moot point if one already believes.
@TheFaithofGod Honestly... Think about is this way. Polytheism refers to anything with multiple gods. Many Christians claim Jesus is their god an savior and the same time believe in god. Without delving further into the foolishness that is Christianity you have found an inconsistency. 2 Gods!
Not accepting applications at this time... And I missed VFX on the radio due to my busy schedule. He is no longer a main priority of mine. If he comes back to YouTube or the public scene in any meaningful way, that may change. For now, I rather like his voluntary exile.
That is quite the counter-argument... not really, it is more of a reactionary knee-jerk reply where you didn't think before you typed. And at least give me credit for the other blasphemy in the video before you condemn me to your mythical hell. Have some common decency. Fucking provincial.
I feel it distracts from your argument, which is well founded. Pardon me for not reading the entire info section, I usually do. Again, well done videos.
I understand your position and will take it into account in making a decision on how to use it in videos in the future. Thanks for your support and honesty.
Here in Mexico, there is a quite popular show about people praying to a certain saint for something that saint has authority over.
The funny (and sad) thing is that during the commercials they offer an image of a saint for your cell phone by sending a text message, so you can pray to it. Pray to your cell phone! Give me a f-ing break.
Concerning the portion from 6:24, it is also worth mentioning that the Hebrew word used in this context is "Elohim" which is a plural form, but because of cultural conditioning to the idea of monotheism, "Elohim" is often regarded as the "Royal we".
Ya know Patrician, there is a good use for a Bible. When you're out of papers it makes some good joint fodder. I would like to thank the Gideons for all the times I forgot my bowl on business trips!
Again, great video, but this is the second time I heard you pronounce "pseudo-" as /`suade-oh/ rather than /`sood-oh/. I just thought I should point that out.

Not accepting applications at this time... And I missed VFX on the radio due to my busy schedule. He is no longer a main priority of mine. If he comes back to YouTube or the public scene in any meaningful way, that may change. For now, I rather like his voluntary exile.

yup. minor deities = polytheism. Especially ones that try or want to overthrow the deity at the top aka lucifer aka satan.

Jews are polytheistic too god's name in Genesis Eliohim is purul not singular as well as many many other names.

Well enjoy your stay in hell! Thats because you don't understand the trinity!

That is quite the counter-argument... not really, it is more of a reactionary knee-jerk reply where you didn't think before you typed. And at least give me credit for the other blasphemy in the video before you condemn me to your mythical hell. Have some common decency. Fucking provincial.

Hell is not real fool. Read up on the origins of the concept.

Great Video, Solid arguement, but you need to work out your pronunciations ... psuedo (soo doh) not (sway doh) but other than that, well done.

Please read the note at the end of the info. section for Part II.

I feel it distracts from your argument, which is well founded. Pardon me for not reading the entire info section, I usually do. Again, well done videos.

I understand your position and will take it into account in making a decision on how to use it in videos in the future. Thanks for your support and honesty.

Subscribed. ;) Keep up the good work.

Ignore the linguistic ad-hominems. This is how languages evolve!

Concerning the portion from 6:24, it is also worth mentioning that the Hebrew word used in this context is "Elohim" which is a plural form, but because of cultural conditioning to the idea of monotheism, "Elohim" is often regarded as the "Royal we".
Akatam0t0ma 2 years ago
Indeed. Elohim is a term that directly refers to polytheism and is simply further evidence of Christian polytheism. Thanks for mentioning that.

Ya know Patrician, there is a good use for a Bible. When you're out of papers it makes some good joint fodder. I would like to thank the Gideons for all the times I forgot my bowl on business trips!

I thought the best use was as a hiding place, such as often used in movies.
Carve out the middle and who would suspect such a book as hiding something.

Again, great video, but this is the second time I heard you pronounce "pseudo-" as /`suade-oh/ rather than /`sood-oh/. I just thought I should point that out.
5*

I also heard "atTRIBute" instead of "ATtribute." I may make that slip if I'm reading something.
Still 5 stars; great videos and strong research.
My uncle used to wear a saint around his neck, as it was a saint who protects athletes. Anthony or Michael. I heard this saint no longer exists.
I'll pick Saint MIchael Anthony, as Van Halen totally rocks, man.

Also, when he says worship it sounds sort of like warship.
sounds weird either way, but I would likely say it weird too since I used to and sort of still do have a problem with the R sound

This is really, really cool. I never considered this point of view, but I think you are dead on. Bravo, good sir.
