A mouse’s dpi rating is the number of "counts" recorded by the sensor over 1 inch of physical movement of the mouse.

A high dpi doesnt means a better mouse as most ppl think. Its all about how much the mouse sensor will read over "x" distance. Well accuracy provided by todays mice (5600dpi+) isnt rly that accurate coz windows will never provide 1:1 pixel mouse movement which will cause the cursor to move a lil weird.
