  • @Riyanda1234 Notice the " " surrounding the word lesson ?... what do you think I put them there for ?.

  • excellent skill--but TOO MUCH MOVEMENT-- give a poor note a chance!!! --- spend some quality time with lets say 3 at a time in a classic loop, maybe trill on two little fellows allowing them to shine, follow up with a generous bend-- and then perhaps, give a region of the neck a little attention before you move on to greener pastures up the fret board (new scale positions)--one more thing-- lose the perfect 7 ----add the flatted 3 5 and 7!!!-- then, blues masterpiece I would believe!!!!!

  • what a "lesson" :P

  • Yngwie MAESTRO @

  • 1:30 OMG!!! What the hell happened!!

  • Ive been practicing his techniques and Ive learned also Rising force solo.. I dont know but anyone who learns his style his techniques loses nothing, and I feel soo good when I play them!!

  • Does anyone know the song name/album of the counter point tune at 7:12?

  • He's trying to teach us that we're all shit at guiter xD

  • Do you have the whole video? I mean, all the videos, i've watched more.

Would you mind sharing the links with me?

    Please!

  • speed = emotion

  • @gnr2k11forever Grow up chum, for your own sake if not the sake of others.

  • 4:30

I'd kill for that guitar... Hundreds of super strat models but for some reason no one makes 24 fret strats in classic shape, pickguard, 3 single coils, non locking trem etc.

  • The "Deja Vu" solo is wicked!!!

  • Where is the lesson? This video just shows him playing his guitar

  • @BarriosGroupie lmao malmsteen never gives slow lessons. he just plays

  • @PayTeamNmE I don't know why he does this because in his younger days he did play slower. Do you think he's going senile and doesn't realise he's meant to be helping people? Maybe he's protective of his knowledge? Maybe he's just a wanker?

  • @BarriosGroupie lol it's malmsteen hes at his prime stage of shred, if you want my opinion i think he don't like playing slow..

  • @BarriosGroupie Notice the "" I put on the word Lesson in the title ?...

  • @BarriosGroupie

And now you know what the lesson is...

  • @BarriosGroupie And thus it is added to his legand and doucheness of Malmsteen my friend.

  • yngwie teaches loosely, he wants musicians to come to their own conclusions on what he does. I don't think he wants musicians to be a mirrored imitation of him or his playing, its hidden genius in my opinion and that is how he learned too I bet. technique and a free thinking method of learning so all possibilities are on the table. and the fat jokes, just wait til you younger jerkoffs are in your 40's and you start having thyroid or health issues, lets see how fat you guys get!! ..

  • this guy will always stay the on the Top of the list....no matter whoever comes after him......few ppl still don't realize how much hard work he has done to be able to play like this....Yngwie...u r the best \m/

  • huh i wonder if he relly smokes or if he has that there becuse its suposed to look cool?

  • @dvpkid He used to smoke at the time, has since quit. I on the other hand, put a fake cig there on my own guitar, simply cause it looks cool. I don't smoke at all. :)

  • @DannyBoy777 thats stupid

  • @DannyBoy777 why would you do that mayn

  • @DannyBoy777 make no mistake it doesn't make you look cool, it does however on the other hand make you look like a massive tool.

  • @MVF0RLYFE Sarcasm old bean, sarcasm.

  • Yngwie def has feeling!!!

  • That guitar at 4:20 with the rosewood fingerboard has 24 frets.

  • the MAESTRO.

  • I learned soo much :P

  • @devtrev Ironically and no doubt much to your disgust, my English is frequently beautiful. Though when you've just crawled out of bed and sat down with a cup of hot coffee to check your emails... it's just a little bit more difficult than normal to be as grammatically immaculate as you'd like. I figured you'd get the point, my mistake was not recognising sooner, what a complete idiot you in fact are. Better luck in future there champ, maybe one day we can all be as "special" as you.

  • @DannyBoy777 I doubt that. With guys like Yngwie, no wonder Sweden has such a high suicide rate.

  • @devtrev With guys like you, it's no wonder YouTube videos frequently have their comments sections turn into a playground for obnoxious little arseholes with nothing better to do than talk shit about someone who's more successful than they are.

  • @DannyBoy777 Interesting logic. So, you are not allowed to have an opinion on an artist if said artist is more successful than you are? Doesn't seem fair. Besides, anyone who releases something to the general public is fair game. I've shelled out my own money so I have the right to say whatever i want. Somehow, I think Yngwie with his big ego (and bigger waistline) can take it.

  • @devtrev Fair enough. Original point stands though, I wanted (at the time of posting) at least one Yngwie video on YouTube where it could be free of people talking shit. Since every single Yngwie video always goes the same way in the comments section. People come in slagging him off (sometimes for justifiable reasons) and then others come to the rescue. It gets utterly monotonous. And frankly I am bored to death of it. Positivity is surely the way forward.

  • @devtrev Do you, douchebag, realise that everyone one of the Yngwie hating comments is getting removed from this video without question or pause ?. Like I've said before, most Yngwie fans know his faults and flaws, but there are a huge number of his videos on YouTube that you can go slag him off in, this one is free of that bilge. So take your comment, shine it up real nice, turn that sucker sideways and shove it straight up your candy ass.

  • I ALWAYS PUT MY CIGGARET THERE!!!!!! the only thing matches between me and yngwei ^^

  • Did he seriously tune his E string while he was playing? only someone dressed like Jack Sparrow could do that.

  • did he seriously tune his E string while he was playing?

  • FUCK IM TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING YNGWIE DOSENT HAVE A SOUL BECAUSE HE PLAYS LIKE THUNDER!!!!!! ITS JUST ASSWHOLES WHO PLAY CLASSIC TYPICAL PENATONIC SHIT ARE USED TO BEING SLOW

  • the solo form seventh sign was unbelievable!! even better than the original :))

  • Lol you call this Lesson i call this a fucking tease and show off xD ;)

  • THE WAH PART AT 4:03 IS SO SEXY!

  • @jonpaulmoen So fuck off to a Dave Gilmour video you cunt.

  • Comment removed

  • @DannyBoy777 Are you from England? Why such a potty mouth?

  • how i n THE FROZEN DANTE'S HELL can he tune up a string WHILE IT IS STILL BENT?

  • haha the title

    Yngwie malmsteen ''''LESSON'''' montage :DDD

  • LOL at the quotation marks over lesson xD.

  • @qwerty63416341 that also made me giggle lol

  • Anybody know the name of the last piece with the counter point?

  • @SPVTrader Its "overture 1622" from Magnum Opus. Cheers!

  • 24 fret strat strange for yngwie ..

  • 3.15 to 3.25 what is that from???

  • @pn812 It's from Deja Vu, taken from the Odyssey album.

  • deja vu, oddisey,1988

  • One of my all time favorites. I had the privilege of seeing front row center stage in 88. Man time flies. Did I just date myself. At any rate. It was one of my all time great musical memories.

  • Yngwie definitely has SOUL in his Playing ! Think of all of the FEELINGS that you Experience when Listening to this. WOW Totally AMAZING !!

  • malmsteen c'est du super son

  • This is a GREAT compilation! I really enjoyed it. And if Malmsteen isn't a guitar genius, then NO BODY is.

  • im sure the into to icarus dream suite is in there??

  • @dobsonone Otherwise known as the "Adagio".

  • The good thing--no, the GREAT thing about Yngwie--is that he is willing to give lessons and showing anyone who wants to learn his techniques. Unlike a lot of other players who play with their backs to the audience, and worry someone may steal their chops. Look at Yngwie's lessons. It's all there in black and white. Anyone with a solid foundation can learn something from him. If you can't follow, you only have yourself to blame.

  • yes it a lesson it teaches how to quit playing and teach us all to put our guitars on ebay and get some money

  • The "soul", as you so eloquently put it, is in the countless thousands of hours he has put toward furthering the indescribably intimate relationship he has with the guitar. She is a jealous mistress, who reveals her deepest secrets only to those who persist in their romance with her. Can you not see his face? He is in ecstasy. There's the "feel". There's the "soul". After over 25 years, those of us who understand still find ourselves defending him to the hearing impaired.

  • @manndrakeatgmail Perfectly said!

  • Holy shit, the Seventh Sign solo is so damn insane nobody else than Yngwie can play it. He sometimes fails to play it 100 %, like in this video.

  • I'd kill to have this guy's tech abilitiy! but i've got to say when your playing that fast as impressive as it is...its hard to think stylisticly...wheres the soul? somtimes less is more! maybe i just say that cause i cant shred like yngwie! lol rock on man your one bad mutha

  • @muzikphreak420 I always find it odd how people can only associate "soul" with "playing slowly". I can't really understand it at all. Soul, passion, fire... can all be embodied in someone who plays 1 note per second or 20.

  • @muzikphreak420 no dude, you are exactly right. after a while this guy has to be totally bored with his abilities. And it loses some of it's soul in the process. I enjoy hearing the guy play but after 2 hours of this stuff I think I'd feel like taking a nap. I think EVH got so sick of playing eruption every concert it became a job at that point. And then it's like people don't see the real you, they just see your lightning fingers. You become like the dancing chicken in the George Strait movie

  • @muzikphreak420 May I also add that, once you've practiced scales and arpeggios so much, it's actually pretty easy to shred, it almost becomes mindless, so it is easy to think "stylistically" when playing.

  • @muzikphreak420 oh jesus shut the fuck up! yes your only saying that cus you needa orcatice more

just because you cant play fast doesnt mean you got soul!

  • i love it when yngwie masturbates on the guitar.. LOL

  • @kabirnagranee he doesn't masturbate on his guitar... he makes love to his guitar!!!

  • @NagualElias sometimes he does, i agree, that was in his first few albums. now it's all the same repetitive sweeps and runs and arpeggios. just my humble opinion, i do think he's a virtuoso anyways. ;))

  • @kabirnagranee i can't understand you or all the others who say the same with you. what do you want to play? these are his trademark. we hear him because he is the best in that stuff. vai has his own style. satch has his own style and so on. i don't want yngwie to experiment in something different. ok i prefer his first albums. but every artist writes his best songs at the beginning and the he writes only for his fans

  • where the fuck do i get clothes like that?????

  • @xNinjaBeanerx

    pirate bay

  • One of his inspiration was Niccolò Paganini (1782!), who basically was a classical violin shredder of his time. Check it out if you like Yngwie.

  • monster technique , crazy hands .....maybe vai, buckethead, gilbert are up their own leage but yngwie is the KING for SUREEEEEE

  • muito loco!

  • Seventh Sign is the best metal song ever written! Pure Yngwie!

  • So go and listen to buckethead while I remove your comment.

  • You're right,we'd rather learn something XD But it's worth watching it!!

  • @Th3nR the song at 4:00 is called deja vu

  • This is the sickest Yngwie video ive seen on youtube!

  • name of the song at 4:00?

    thanks

  • Deja Vu, it's in the info. Funny how many people don't read that.

  • @DannyBoy777

Well, I used to read the info in all vids and btw i hate those who ask and they dont read it; so its my bad;, also thanks

  • I used to have a friend who could play all his stuff flawlessly. The key to reaching his speed and precision is to hardly move the pick, just enough to clear the string, nothing more. Yng. has a great ability to play fast and yet bang out nice blues style stuff, which he explained comes from his Hendrix admiration.

  • yngwie is one of the truly great inspiring players, but he is kinda too self absorbed to teach anything to anyone, I dont really mean EGO I mean he just kinda forgets to actually show what hes playing and wanders around enjoying himself, masturbation in B flat minor, its just fun to shred

  • malmsteen is a clasical and rock exelent musician ..... he me fell a diferent landscapes whit your music...

  • he is from sweden.. yey :)

  • my idola...finally i got fender yjm thanks..

  • *bows*

  • Yngwie is my original guitar hero.

  • the master

  • GUITAR HERO MALMSTEEN

     !!!

  • lol 0:28 "o hold on a lil flat let me fix that.... alright back to shreddy-time!"

  • @fyrefish42 you just made my night!

  • @fyrefish42 I think it's just a gimmick. He doesn't fix anything. Still cool, though.

  • i just wonder how malmsteen plays with all that hair sagging on the strings lmfaoo

  • Yngwie's hair are strings...hes just a walking guitar..thats why hes soo dam awsome.!

  • I find the slower piece and the last one to be the most beautiful. Sometimes less shredding is better IMHO. :)

  • Malmsteen is well-known of shredding, but people often forget that some of his slower tunes, such as Brothers, are just amazing. Yngwie can create amazing melodies and all the bends and vibrato - just immaculate.

  • At 2:50 he's like:

"Dude, I'm done. I need a cheesecake now!"

    XD

  • what song is at 2:56?

  • It's called "Deja Vu" and it's from the "Odyssey" album.

  • thanks!

  • I like what starts at 2:16 fuckin sick!

  • Thanks for Malmstick(!) :-)

  • tudo igual, mais tem uma velocidade muito boa principalmente nos arpejos

  • Malmsteen could probably play something very melodic and slow. But then he said "fuck it, I'll be different instead." And thus we have this video.

  • He REALLY enjoyed playing that first song. :-)

  • I know what your thinking and the answer is NOOOO! there is no better guitar player!

  • a musical genius a once in a lifetime talent, it hard to be impressed by other guitar players when you listen to malmsteen

  • from 4:20 till 5:20 what is the name of this strat?full....

  • Many variations of style and technique make Yngwie's music awe inspiring (not to mention the speed of his playing).

  • At what he does he IS the best, period

  • dude all i know is i've been listening to this guy since 89. He might not be the best, but he's by far, and still, my very favorite. I just think he's such a treasure.

  • Spot on, and to be honest in my eyes (or ears aha) what he does is his OWN he didn't copy anyone.

  • He´s the guitarrist´s good

  • he's fucking god!

  • este csm es en maestro de maestros...

  • 6:20-6:28 sounds like the guitar is crying.

  • at 5:27 he looks like a god, and the song he plays totally has me in a trance.

  • you're right. it's beautiful.

a lot of that piece of music is in the intro in his song: icarus dream suite

  • yeah, rising force is one my most treasured possessions haha.

  • Come on, his at middle age... you can't call "old" a guy with 46y.. look at Satch, he has more than 50y and is still kickin' ass. I don't know what's the problem with Yngwie, it may be the tendinitis, the alcohol, drugs, anything but his age. He's still young and has a lot of music to make.. sadly, no like in the past.

  • dont let his hair get caught on the string he'll never get that out at the speed he plays...

anyways yngwie is kick ass 5 stars :)

  • dude he's so pro he's tuning while playing haha wow

  • actually this is said to be his best year playing live.

  • that isn't a lesson.. that's first degree rape.

  • is there any actual lesson to this

  • 5:20 ~5:23 is very funny lol

  • He knows how to make a guitar cry and scream... but rarely you'll see him play as clearly as that nowadays.. and I hate that, because I really like this guy's playing..

  • Cause he's old man.

His bones are aching, and he recovered from Tendonitis which probably fucked him up a little too.

As sad as it sounds, you're never going to here any of the 80s/70s shred guys play like they did in the 80s and 90s.

  • 46... OLD? are you stupid?

  • Yngwie looks like a pirate in the first scene ha

  • HA. You could also make a case that this guy really isnt making these sounds but the proof is right in front of you. Just Insane.

  • i've seen him live.he is very good at what he does. i really enjoy his acoustic stuff though. me nd my dad always said he should do an ALL acoustic album.he never will though cuz he loves electric too much.but i still think he's the fastest player i the world right now AND I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • He did an all acoustic album. It's called ANGELS OF LOVE and was released recently. There is electric guitar on there but only to fill in some space, it's effectively all acoustic guitars.

  • malmsteen is the best guitarist out there and he knows it

  • he doesn't play because he can. He plays because YOU Can't

  • There is no best guitarist but he is definately very good.

  • this dude is awesome!

  • hes the most shredder prirate ive ever seen

  • Shredding on a Strat is just unreal...5/5

  • wouldn't have it any other way dude.

  • adagio is sexy.

  • all other shredders are afraid you can see it on their faces and their hand movements.. i know they thinking..hope it don´t sound like malmsteen and shit shit..stop with the copy..damn! i cant!..like Joe stump really thinks he is something fucking fagget tries to copy GOD lame bastard..play your own shit!

  • Men thats so true i mean i love yngwie and ofcourse its difficult not to play some yngwie licks but I would never imitate someone thats just stupid. And i hate those motherfuckers who says yngwie became sloppy etc , infact yngwie only gets better !!! And a lot of those chinese or japanese shredders are also yngwie imitators !! But its always frustrated to see there are so many yngwie haters. Without yngwie the whole metalscene would be totally different nowadays.

  • I somewhat agree, but then again, why wouldn't you imitate Yngwie? He's really cool, and great player! I have an yngwie vid too, and I am not ashamed of attempting!

  • Has this video been taken before or after his accident?

  • After, it's from 1995 I believe.

  • Thank you :)

  • Hey !

Can someone, tell me where can i get a guitar pro tab of "Adagio"?

    I want to learn it!

  • 4:09 Some nce Hendrix esque effects. Right on. Strange seing Yngwie playing on resewood, I almost didnt recognize him, 24 brutal frets, so much potential.

Thanks for posting 7:09 counterpoint part actually lifted me out of my chair

  • Correction *Rosewood

  • Happy Birthday Yngwie. you are sick.

  • whats the name of this guitar video he's playing in, i think he plays very very good in this time gap cheers for post (godspeed )

  • would you suck his dick to have those skills lol

  • Xmalibur... hell no. I'd rather put in the hard work lol.

  • yup.

  • YES I WOULD!

  • "You won't really learn anything, though you may get some ideas for your playing and writing. But mostly he's just kinda fun to watch" So true LOL

  • scalloped or not,his vibrato it's simply awesome..

  • Yngwie owns over 200 vintage strats. The 24 fret is one of them. Guess he figured he'd take it around the block for the demo. You can see that he has to really dig for the left hand vibrato without the scallops here and there. Still excellent technique.

  • excellent !!
