its amazing how when this happened 12 from 10 with 4 wickets left seemed almost impossible and with the introduction of t/20 cricket it should be done in a cricketers sleep.
@pubuman Hey pubeman... the description says "McCullum BLASTS the Kiwis home". In those three overs McCullum faces 12 balls, 3 of which are boundaries... total runs 19... s/r 158.33 - oh yeah he smashed them home.
If you want smashing watch Gayle, Gambir, or Afridi and stop over sensatioanlising mediocrity.
LOL after the 3rd ball of the last over the commentator said''There will be a few television sets smashed in new zealand if you don,t win this one from here''.
Great stadium under roof, great out field, great day nighter, great athletes between the wickets, in the field and in the dug out in the open and two classic commentators in Lawry and Smith. Perfect way to play and end a cricket match. Just perfect.
After the first ball of the last over, the commentator says, "We have seen a great catch tonight". Which catch, anyone please? Rob, you must be having that too.
I remember watching this live on Sky Sports back in the day, two great ODI's (both going to the end) in this 3 ODI series, each nation winning one a piece going in to the third with all to play for then the 3rd & last ODI is washed out, now that was a bad ending to this good series.
This was the first game of cricket i ever saw live!! Back when Etihad Stadium was Telstra Dome.

32 to win...achieved in 16 balls.
not exactly what I'd call BLASTING IT.

@DodgyNZ strike rate of 200 is blasting it buddy
cricketmad27 2 months ago
@cricketmad27 in a 50 over match, maybe... but this was a t20.
DodgyNZ 2 months ago
@DodgyNZ clearly this wasn't a T20, it was 2004. T20's didn't come in till 05' and the chappell/hadlee series is a 50 over contest
reubenw59 2 months ago
@DodgyNZ except it wasn't. this was a 50 over game. and a strike rate gives you a score of 240 in 20 overs and that is more than blasting it.
