Let me try to explain it this way. If you have one crime this year and next year you have two, crime has increased by 100%. If the next year you have 6 crimes, crime has increased by 600% from when you started keeping statistics and 200% from the previous year. So if the year after you have only one crime again, that means crime has decreased by 600%.

That's not how statistics work, you idiot. A stastical reduction is measured from the starting point, which is 100%. It doesn't matter if the level raises tenfold in the meantime, before it starts sinking.

Here's some simple math for you:

John has one apple

John eats six of his apples

Oh, wait...

Sooner or later it always comes down to name calling with you who reject the truth. Here is simple math. If John eats one apple today, and he eats two apples tomorrow he has eaten 100% more apples on day 2 than he did on day one. If he eats 3 apples on day 3 he has now eaten 200% more than he ate on day one, and so on. But on day 4 what if he ate no apples at all? If we express this in a percentage we could say that he ate 200% less apples than day 3. Simple.

The original population was 1, Adam. He was 100% of the world's population, when you add to that you increase the percentage, can't you see that. I am trying to help you here.
