Raw, powerful and gripping stuff. Amazing to think it was recorded 80 years ago and still grabs you! Angelina's vocals go great with his deep, gruff singing. Like Jo Spence & The Pinder Family, but with more umph and a real bluesy, Gospel feel. Keep loading these in, mig van.
This was so raw and honest. They were singing in different keys and the recording was technically poor, but these trivial factors only enhanced the power of the music; priceless.
Praise God I'm satisfied, I can say that this morning. I have the records but I like it when you post them. Interesting information and nice pictures. Thanks.
John, I'm glad you are satisfied. I am too, if somebody listen to this wonderful Gospel. I know for sure Blind Willie and Angeline in Heaven listen. Blues and Gospel hand in hand !
Ahhhh Urban, I LOVE gospel music!! This song is such a treat.... never heard it before. It's just amazing! So many of these songs (gospel and blues) came out of a time/place of so much pain and misery.... these songs are like flowers growing in a blast zone. I am thankful every day for your channel! x
If you love the Blues, you love the Gospel and you are so right about the origin of all these songs, they came out of pain and misery, BUT they all have survived, cause they are as you say, like flowers in a blast zone, adapted to Life !!!
Love this, Urban!!!!!
