I'm pretty sure I know what this one is: a test level. As a programmer, I know that after the blocks that are going to be used are made, it is common for them to be tested out in one room. There is no need for a goal, or perhaps it just wasn't finished.
It's not a test level - since then, I've found out a lot more about the game and discovered the use for all the levels. This one was originally planned to be a Mario vs. Luigi level - it has all the correct sprites (for the random stars etc).
I saw that on my editor...can it be a multiplayer level?I also saw (and played, thanks to an hack made by me) 10-6...Seems that the both are for multiplayer mode...
This doesn't look like a prototype level to me; it looks like a test level; there's nothing separating all of the various objects beyond a few small stretches of land, and the objects are too cluttered to be enjoyable. However, this would allow quick access to various objects being tested.
lol thats what l was about to say! yeah it was most likely a canned multiplayer level or a debug room dont remember those tiles that make the floor and ceiling ever being in the final game

this is most likely an unused multiplayer level especially since thats the background for that underground multiplayer level
Kolma 3 years ago 4
This background actually is used in castle levels or tower levels, I forget which.

Interesting... I don't recall seeing this pillar anywhere, and this background is never used in the final game.
Could you show the unused grasslands, please ?
