This title sequence was grafted onto the 1961-1962 Bullwinkle episodes on the DVD release of the third season, and it had the 1961 theme music playing over it instead of the 1959 theme, and they cut the General Mills sequence (due to licensing rights) and they also added the new Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends graphic and re-dubbed the narrator's lines at that part.
1959 was apparently the last year General Mills used its "TV screen" logo, because the 1960 episodes had Rocky and Bullwinkle singing the "Gee, what goodness!" jingle to launch the Big G cereal family, which then consisted of Cheerios, Wheaties, Kix, Sugar Jets, Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Hi-Pro and the Pick-a-Pack assortment...
That's because the people making them back then were intelligent and imaginative unlike the over indulegent prima donnas in the business today who have no more exposure to life than what they've seen on television without learning the actual "crafting" and structure of the art.
Even though Jay Ward filmed all of his shows in color, 'Marshmallow', ABC originally telecast them in black & white. It wasn't until 1961 that America first saw "Moose" and "Squirrel" in "Living Color", on NBC's "BULLWINKLE SHOW".
This is the first season opening (1959-'60), with their primary sponsor's I.D. in the middle {there was also an alternate opening title featuring their alternate sponsor in season one, Sweets Co. Of America's "Tootsie Roll"}. This is why this title sequence was never seen in syndciation.

Heavenly Hash! I distinctly remember that jingle, and would sing along with it.
Weren't cartoons of the finest quality back then?

I like Rocky & Bullwinkle's Taco Bell and Hershey's commercials.

that Rocky and Bullwinkle theme sounded like the Universal Cartoon Studios theme or the early Fairly OddParents theme.
