ZOOM: America's Kids Respond (Part 3)

Unfortunately, my local PBS station pulled its local plug on Zoom for the 2001-2002 school year, and I didn't see it. I was in Kindergarten on September 11th, 2001, and here I am watching this special 10 years later!! God bless America!

Nationwide - You've looked at my Zoom petition and know why I believed it was cancelled. Nothing to explain there.

Locally for me - Wisconsin Public Television, my local PBS station, chose to stop showing because the "local ratings" were low. Removing the show statewide greatly affected the national ratings, and explains why I say what I said in my Zoom petition.

@Robdeltonie yes and it is PBS fault for moving it from 5:00 PM to 3:30 PM most kids are doing homework or after school classes at 3:30. they killed it themselves.

I grew up in Manhattan. I was five when 9/11 happened, and I lived for zoom. Nobody ever really explained to me what was going on, though I figured it out since then. All I knew was that planes had crashed into some buildings. School ended early and it was all chaos, and my dad came and picked me up from kindergarten and he was terrified and hugging me and nobody explained what was happening.

She sang that song so beautifully. I'm glad ZOOM made this episode. It must have really helped kids understand what was going on.
