yes these are the differencies but there is one more the first model(140) is made in Japan and the second (141) is made in China..

Very important difference because the first one is much more durable and lasts longer than the second one.

Anyway makita is the best!!!!!!

those are old models,,,,BTD144 is the newest impact drill from makita.....with a brushless motor, and 1440lbin of torque....three speeds....switch for led light, and battery power warning....
