Just recently saw the movie. The director undertook a tremendous task to depict life in Colombia, its cultural beliefs and indomitable characters. The theme was full of fervor, love and intrigue, the virginity factor was a commendable point of referential dogmatic indoctrination. Well done, one of the best I have seen in a long time. The city of Cartagena, still a magnifecent colonial Spanish port, very real.
Can anybody tell me how the song that is played in the church when Florentino first wants to give Fermina a letter is called?(When they sit in a queue)It is a spanish song. Thanks;)
I think this trailer is beautiful but I will not see the movie because the book is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read, cover to cover, and I don't want to spoil it- this novel is too precious!
i saw this movie recently and i was amazed not just by the comedy within the story but by the intensity of his love that spanned over 5 decades. well that and the 622 women he humped in between. lol.
This movie was sad. She didn't even fight for their 'love' and what guy stays a virgin after screwing 622 (married/prostitute) women?! Is the book really like this? Fermina just goes with whatever suits the moment, but she is strong nonetheless when she asks her husband who he's cheating on her with. I liked the aunt who said to just say yes to love, or you'll regret it for the rest of your life. That is so true.
to desparately love like this for many years is a happyness compared to living in a country like africa.
as we have over come the hunger, after that we want love..when hunger becomes no longer a sadness, but love is. after you win love you need money and so on..but most people dont ask for more than what they call love.
