Went to Blue Angels show 2 years ago and it was as wonderful as I remember as a child. Went to Air Force Thunderbirds last year, fell asleep while watching. Like watching cars go by on freeway. Straight close formations almost the whole time. Canadian Snow Birds seem to be more of the same. If Air Force is trained to fly and all they can do is fly formations, the U.S. is screwed. Like the Top Gun movie said, we lack close air combat capabilility. Thank goodness for heat seeking missiles.

Have to say, I think they are atrocious. I saw them in England and even they acknowledged the Red Arrows don't use computers to aid them, only maps and compass. Even minor displays like the Jordanian Air Display were better than then Thunderbirds.
