stretching is "useless and counterproductive"?? Sheesh... when I think of being on the high school XC and track teams back around 1980... and all the time we had to devote as a group to stretching *before* ever running a step! What a huge ritual!! It seemed to me like the more we stretched, the weaker my legs felt when I would start running! but I thot it was 'cause I was a crappy runner (which was true also)
Holy fucking shit!!!!!!! That's fucking awesome before I could only get like 7 inches from the ground j did that now I can touch the ground! Your fucking awesome!
haha nice, neat how you figured it out on your on. It's called the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF <- just use this) stretch. Give it a search on youtube~
Hey buddy, it worked, I was barely able to touch the front of my ankles, and I pushed just above down on my knees for 30 seconds, then I was able to touch my feet, and even the ground, just a few inches in crease of flexibility just like you measured out your increase as well. YeHEhessss ss ss ss ss sssss.
sah24601- Try it, it has nothing to do with bouncing. The pressing on the knees/contraction momentarily inhibits stretch receptors, allowing for a greater stretch. It's just a neat little trick.
I'm not more flexible because I never stretch, never do anything for long term flexibility, because it is useless and counterproductive in my sport (running).
duh...pressing on your knees there doesn't matter at all. Just lightly bouncing three times in a row will get twice as much out of his stretch. If this gave any improvement, why isn't this guy more flexible to start with? What a waste of camera time.
i did this as soon as you started stretching the second time and... i keep touch my toes... but now i can touch the ground!!! you are a genius... maybe...

I think it works because basically it fires up the muscles and after holding them it allows them to relax.
