  • This is one of the finest videos on NASCAR. Shows the true down to earth nature of it all in it's golden age. Looks more like a County fair demo derby at the beginning. No glamor boys - Just racers.

  • I'm building a model of that #72 Benny Parsons Monte Carlo right now...

  • A time when NASCAR meant Stock Car.

Now it's the: National Association of Speed Crazy Advertising Representatives.

  • And notice the lack of COMMERCIALIZATION?

Not a corporate sticker on every friggin thing and no crap scrolling on the top and bottom of the tv screen either.

That was called quality TV. Now its just an advertising box.

  • why come there's no sound!!

  • looks like It was shot with a super 8 camera, you couldn't record sound.

  • Thank You! I was in the 8th grade in 1973. Went to Richmond and Charlotte. I pulled for Number 54, Lennie Pond from Richmond. He actually beat DW for Rookie of the Year....not sure what year that was..1972??

  • just some "good ole boys" getting together to bang sheetmetal...yepboy!

  • Beautiful. Going back to a better time of NASCAR racing. :) Thank you for sharing.

  • this is the neatest thing that i have ever seen...i feel like a teenager again
